“That’s the plan,” I teased, knowing I was craving being with him more than my inner wolf who was howling in delight that she and her alpha would soon be one.
“Sounds like a pretty good plan to me.” He led me into a room that I would’ve never considered a room if I hadn’t seen the massive, luxurious bed that was situated to take in the views of the ocean from the enormous windows it faced.
I felt like I should be nervous as hell to do this, but I could sense I wanted this more than Dom. Well, who knew, we both had fought this off for so long, and now, our prize was the only thing my wolf and I had craved since realizing Dom was our mate.
Dom placed me on the bed and crawled up over me. “I heard women can get a little bored with all of this…” he ran his hand up my thigh, then with one quick tug, the end of the last IA short skirt I would never wear again, came undone. He glanced back, “So you have at least a good view of the ocean while I take my time enjoying your body, the body I’ve waited for and have wanted for too long.”
I eyed his friendly smile and did a maneuver to flip him onto his back.
“I get to control you, alpha.” I teased his lips, nipping at them with mine.
His hands slid up my thighs and rested on my lower back. “Nice move,” he bent up to kiss my neck. “You’re pretty skilled, I like it.”
“My trainer taught me that one.”
Dom tucked a strand of loose hair behind my ear, “Sounds like he’s some sexy beast of a warrior. That’s not an easy move on a strong man like myself, much less to teach a tiny little thing like you.”
“He’s alright,” I smirked.
Those were the last words spoken before Dom and I were done with the chit chat, and our sizzling, electric kiss preluded what both of us were aggressively working toward. Dom’s body was rigid but smooth against my flesh. Every act, move, kiss, and touch we both entered in made me think back to when I thought he was merging the wolves back at IA. I was very wrong and horribly deceived, just as Dom tricked that demon in my mind. This was a million times better than anything that went down in that small room. This was euphoria multiplied by a million.
I tried to maintain control of my guy, but like he promised, he was going to make sure I knew he loved and appreciated every part of my naked body. The man was a wizard of the act alone, and I was writhing under his control—a control I never knew a man could have over a woman. It wasn’t a bad thing, either. Dom could take this kind of control over my body any time of any day.
I was searching for air, watching his flawless and too-perfect-to-be-real body, adoring mine in ways I didn’t think possible. I may have never been with a guy before, but I wasn’t naïve about sex or sensations. I knew how it all went down, though it seemed that Dom went to some sacred school to learn these acts of love, and I couldn’t have been more grateful.
We both marveled at exploring the other’s bodies, pleasure points, and acknowledging how amazing it was to be together at this moment. I lost track of time before Dom’s face was hovering over mine, his hands holding each of my cheeks, and he smiled.
“You’re the most remarkable thing that’s ever happened in my life. I love you, Jenna Silvers.”
His lips held mine hostage, and this kiss was the beginning of everything and the end of us being separated for the rest of our lives. I was officially his, and he was mine as we united, and it was almost as if the stars aligned and magic exploded when our bodies became one. I was deeply lost in his tasteful kiss, enjoying the strategic way his body encouraged me to fully accept our merge, and now, our wolves were both set free to join their powers, sending all the sensations I was experiencing into a thundering moment of bliss.
Dominic groaned softly while I watched in disillusionment as our wolves were surrounded by all the colors on the wheel of magic. When the wolves seemed to collide into one massive wolf, the power that followed was more than I could’ve ever expected.
My body shivered with the electric and potent energy that was surging through my wolf and me to allow Dom and his wolf to join in the powerful energy and draw my locked away magic to surface. This was curbing an aching need I didn’t think I carried within me, and most of all, it was pure and true.
Dom and I continued on while our wolves took on the most powerful sensations a supernatural could ever dream of having. I felt our immortality strengthen to become a much stronger entity together instead of how we were apart. We were a joined force and powerfully accepting the other’s strength, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this merged energy sent out some ripple of energy to every supernatural out there. It was intense, insane, and very much what fate wanted for me and Dom and no one else. This was ours to share and to have forever, and forever was just the beginning of the powerful shifters Dom and I had become.
Two months (and three intentionally-avoided letters from Harrison) later
The poor humans who were hired to cater to the two sex-crazed shifters in the villa on the beach probably deserved much more pay for having to listen to or deal with Dom and me while they made sure we had plenty of food to eat on the island.
We finally made it outdoors and onto the cushioned lounge chairs on the beach. I loved hearing the humans interacting, even when my enhanced wolf hearing picked up on what the girls who were lounging at my right were saying about Dom.
I was the luckiest supernatural alive to have this man, but my newest favorite thing—while watching our powers slowly get stronger over the last two months—was seeing that Dom now loved pie as much as I did. We were obviously two very separate people, but we were firmly one unit as well. When I saw him eying my apple pie, then taste it and react like I did, my heart was overjoyed. I may not have been able to read his thoughts after this merge—yet—but he loved pie as much as I did now, and that was a solid win for me.
I smiled as he rubbed sunscreen on my body, and it was a good thing that I was face down, because seeing his shredded and muscular body would have made me want to do things that would run off every human on the beach.
“That’s something we need to talk about,” Harrison’s voice broke into the dreamy thoughts that almost had me dragging Dom into the house.
“I didn’t just hear Harrison’s voice, did I?” I turned my face to see Dom sitting up, his eyes behind his shades.
“Yeah, you heard him, and he’s right out there,” Dom said dryly.
“Good God, how’d he find us?”
“Your question, dear daughter, is why did he bother to search me and lover-wolf out?” Harrison replied as I looked back toward the ocean to search him out.
Harrison was standing there like some hitman in one of his billion-dollar suits. What in all of hell was he doing here?
Chapter Forty-Seven
I didn’t know if I was confused, annoyed, or worried that after all this time, this crap would never end.
“Do you think if I snapped my fingers with this newly-available power that I can zap him back to his world?” I whispered to Dom.
Dom smirked. “Let’s see what he wants.”
I tried snapping the Guardian Commander back home anyway. It was worth a shot. Nothing but a laugh from Harrison, who was still gazing out at the shimmering ocean, waiting for us like he was about to put us on assignment or send us back to that damn academy.
I took my cover-up dress to conceal the skimpy swimsuit I wore for Dom, not expecting company, and pulled it on.
“What’s so important that you found a way to hunt us down?” Dom asked Harrison when the commander turned to acknowledge us walking up to him.
“First things first, Dom,” he mocked, eyeing Dominic. “It appears you have had relations with my darling daughter, and I will not allow anything to be more important than you, wolf, to make an honest woman out of her after the lines you’ve crossed.”
“Um, I was willing and ready, dad,” I answered dryly. “Seriously, why are you here?”
Harrison slipped his hands into his pockets, “In my line of work, things change
rapidly. Priorities change, and plans are reassessed to handle everything on an efficient note.” He nodded to Dom and me, “You two skipping out on the panel is now lowest on my list of priorities, and this young man making an honest woman out of you, the highest.”
“You’re seriously here because we had sex before we got married?” I questioned in disillusionment.
“I do hope you enjoy this extremely expensive villa and resort. I paid a lot of money to ensure your privacy here.”
“My dad put up the money for this place,” Dom said.
“Ah, but he was paid off,” Harrison smiled. “By me, of course. First of all, I needed to know exactly where you two were hiding, and secondly,” he glanced around, “As Jenna’s loving father, I wouldn’t dare have another individual be responsible for my daughter’s comfort while she was married to the love of her life.”
“Married?” I said. “Daughter? Can you make up your mind on that part, at least? One minute I’m your fake daughter, the next you’re trying to kill me, then you’re disowning me for having fairy blood in my veins, and now, I’m back to being your fake daughter again? What do you need from us?”
“Well, to set the record straight, I plan on keeping you in my will if I should sadly die an honorable death. So, until I disown you again, you’re my kid, and Dom is the young man I will not approve of you being with unless he makes an honest woman out of you.”
“Honest woman,” I said as I rolled my eyes. “Fine.” I planted my hands on my hips, not missing for a second the humored expression on Dom’s face. “I have no idea where you’re from to make this all such a big damn deal, but even if Dom and I decided to get married, how the hell do you think that’s going to happen out here?”
“I’m so thrilled you asked, peaches,” Harrison beamed. “Back at the Rossi estate, they’re planning some extravagant ceremony to join House Braeclaw and Silvers,” he waved his hand in the air, “I’m quite impressed with the expenses Rossi Senior is putting out for all of this, but I believe they plan to ambush you with a grandiose ceremony of vows, to say the very least.”
“I think you’re the one who just ambushed us for a wedding ceremony.”
“True, but my ceremony—the one that is two months late, obviously—is nothing of a flamboyant nature, and if my daughter is planning to marry, I would prefer it be under the tradition of her father’s warriors and the way he married her extremely attractive adoptive mother. So, let’s handle this before another second passes of my daughter in this situation with you, young Rossi.”
“Alright, how are these things performed?” I held up my hand to stop Harrison from answering immediately, “When we’re done, you will promise to give us the real reason you’re here, and then give us at least two weeks to enjoy being married.” I smiled.
Harrison pressed his lips into a fine line. “In my realm, a commitment of vows is performed with at least two witnesses to the couple’s promise of love and devotion, one being the individual performing the act.”
“Do we pluck a human from over there and ask them to be a witness,” I said, pointing at a couple who was strolling on the beach.
“No, we shall use the one I’m allowing to perform the ceremony so that I can properly give my daughter’s hand in marriage to the young man who never asked my permission to marry her.” I saw that Harrison was definitely enjoying this by holding back laughter, and Dom too. I guess I was the only one here who was more interested in the real reason the commander showed up when no one except Dom’s family knew where we were hiding out.
“Let me guess,” Dom said mockingly, “you somehow managed to get Levi—your emperor—involved.”
“Oh, God, of course not. Levi would most definitely take issue with me intruding on you two. Lucky for you, I don’t mind at all,” Harrison said. “Oh, and after you marry into my family, he’ll be your emperor too, Dominic.”
I folded my arms. “Who’s doing this random ceremony, then? Can we hurry up and get on with it?”
“Ethan,” Harrison called out, eyes not leaving mine as he offered his arm to me, “I believe the wise oracle is perfect for this occasion.”
With my wolf hearing, I heard the flapping wings of the owl, and then Ethan practically manifested in front of us.
“Jenna,” Ethan smiled gleefully at me then to Dom, “Dominic. I’m excited to be an important part of your lives right now.”
“You’ve always been an important part of our lives, bud,” Dom clapped his cousin on his shoulder. “Alright, you’re doing some Guardian commitment ceremony and marrying Jenna and me, you up for this?”
“Commander Harrison explained the words I’m to ask. I will ask other words that are just as important instead.”
“Keep to the script, owl,” Harrison said, him and me facing Dom and Ethan. “I prefer my words over yours in this situation.”
I glanced up at Harrison, my hand covered by his while resting in the bend of his arm. “Are you really serious?”
“Deadly,” he answered, looking straight ahead to where Dom and Ethan faced us with backs to the ocean.
It was all beautiful, the way the sun was hovering over the horizon and sliding slowly down, casting golden rays on the vast ocean.
“Jenna and Dominic,” Ethan started, dressed in a suit to match Harrison’s, “will you both promise to love and respect each other above all things?”
“We do,” Dom and I said in unison, me looking at Dom, so deeply in love with him even beyond the annoyance of Harrison demanding this impromptu ceremony.
“Thank you,” Ethan answered. “Harrison, you are standing in a very important position as Jenna’s deceased father, do you trust your decision of giving her to Dominic to become his wife?”
“E?” Dom questioned with a smile. “Are you seriously asking this? Do you not trust—”
“After much consideration and many sleepless nights, knowing this day would come for my precious little wolf,” Harrison interrupted Dom, “I suppose I trust the alpha shifter with my little princess.”
“Oh, dear God,” I whispered.
“Jenna, this is serious,” Ethan scolded me.
I cleared my throat. “Sorry. Go on.”
Ethan went back and forth between Dom and me answering his questions of us joining our lives as one, along with Harrison practically making Dom perform a blood ritual to vow to protect me with his life or else Harrison would have privileges to kill him. As ridiculous as it all was, I felt Dom’s devoted love toward me, and my heart swelled with love for him. Even though this was supposed to be some short ceremony, it lingered on after Harrison kept expanding the vows on Dom’s part toward me.
“What on earth are you doing with these two, Harrison?” I heard Levi’s voice call out from behind us.
Dom was slipping the most beautiful silver arrow ring onto my ring finger when the emperor interrupted what seemed to be a three-hour-long ceremony, mainly of Dominic having to answer in great detail precisely how he would be committed to me for the rest of his immortal life. The silver arrow ring was symbolic of the Guardian Warriors, the arrow being their personal symbol, and it was now a gift to Dom from Harrison to seal our oaths. Harrison had given me a silver band with two etched arrows that were pointing at an etching of a wolf’s face. Though he said it was an heirloom, my bets were on the fact that Harrison had this designed and made himself.
“You are now husband and wife,” Ethan finished hurriedly as if Levi had just caught onto the fact that Ethan was enjoying being a part of Harrison’s mischievous plans of marriage for Dom and me.
“Husband and wife?” Levi questioned Harrison, raising his eyebrows from behind his silver-rimmed shades.
The emperor was dressed to blend in with everyone else at the resort, and damn. I hadn’t seen the emperor outside of the fancy clothes in his world and his war regalia. He was wearing a pair of khaki pants and a navy polo shirt—biceps bugling. It wasn’t anything spectacular, but it sure made known that the guy was all muscle, and he
wore it well. It was apparent he wasn’t the one to merely sit behind a desk and give orders.
“Which is why he’s here,” Harrison eyed me with some annoyance. “You are vowed to Dominic. Keep your eyes off the emperor. You’re embarrassing me,” Harrison chided me.
“Maybe you should have forced that vow of If I dare to look upon another, I agree to a merciless death onto your sweet daughter instead of only me,” Dom said with a laugh.
“What is the meaning of this, Harrison?” Levi interrupted. “You were sent to find their whereabouts, not marry them.”
“How did you know I’d left the palace? How did you even know where to find me?”Levi shook his head, “You know the answer to that. Have you informed them yet, or is this ceremony the distraction you needed?”
“I was ensuring my daughter was an honest woman.”
“Enough with that,” Levi, more serious than Harrison, answered. He looked at Dom and me. “Please accept my humblest apologies for my cousin’s interruption and assumption that you should do whatever he wants,” he said as he glared at Harrison. “As for why we are here, we are curious as to why you both skipped your panels after graduation. This has placed us in a difficult position, as missing that panel forces another year upon you both at your supernatural academy.”
“You both weren’t there either,” I said. “So, what was the point in showing up?”
“I placed two Guardians on that panel in place of Levi and myself while we were off with our strongest warriors, dealing with the emperor’s wife becoming a target to one of our greatest enemies…again,” Harrison finished with the roll of his eyes.
“What!” Dom said. “How? Is she okay?”
“If she weren’t okay, I believe the emperor would have revisited the school and shut that place down for good, given that it was the use of her powers there that alerted the clowns to start hunting for her.”
“My wife is safe and perfectly fine,” Levi confirmed. “However, Harrison and I do have new issues arising, and we are both requesting that, after your holiday, you’ll join us in an operation at Immortal Academy.”
