Immortal Academy- The Complete Series Page 92

  “An operation?”

“We’re planning on working with you and Dominic as our inside eyes,” Harrison added, being serious for the first time today. “Since you both skipped out on our panel questions, we’re willing to let you slide, but now, you both will become professors or students, whichever we deem more to our advantage in surveying what we believe might be another uprising of a different nature at that school.”

“God no,” I said first. “I’m not going back to that hell hole, not even as a professor.”

“I believe my wife’s life being in danger will make you reconsider your abrupt and unreasonable response to this demand.”

  “Demand?” I questioned the emperor.

“Demand, command, is there really a difference?” Harrison shrugged. “Either way, it doesn’t matter. You both are indebted to the Guardians, and it’s time to work with the ones who saved your lives to ensure that this hideous school isn’t planning something behind our backs.”

  “You’re right,” Dom said.

“We owe them our lives. They saved Jenna,” Ethan added.

I sighed. “It’s like that school is my prison sentence—life-long prison sentence,” I said, looking at Dom, pleading with him to not go through with this.

“Listen, cupcake,” Harrison said, “You and Dom have an insurmountable amount of power now. I ask that you both work to conceal this. Go merge House Silvers and Braeclaw like Mark Rossi desires, and then after those festivities, you will report to Immortal Academy to ensure this supernatural school will no longer be an issue for my men.”

“I did say that I owed Reece my life,” I offered Levi an apologetic smile, “You’re right. It shouldn’t even be a question. Dom and I have friends who died trying to keep that school from killing all of us. It’s our job to make sure it doesn’t go dark again.”

“Your emotional promise, as well as your words, are greatly appreciated,” Levi said. “Now, enjoy the last of your holiday, the festivities of House Silvers being honored, and,” he narrowed his eyes at Harrison, “the fact that my commander forced you both to marry instead of request you on this future assignment.” He shook his head as he smiled. “After all is said and done, more information will be sent to you. As of now, there is no imminent danger.”

“How do you know the school needs Jenna and Dominic?” Ethan asked. “The oracle realm does not see anything.”

“Those oracles have their limits, but the emperor’s most trusted advisor does not,” Harrison answered. “Now, let’s get out of your way. I believe you both are on an official honeymoon now. Two weeks, and make it snappy. You have already cost me quite amount of money, renting this place for the two months you’ve already been here.”

“You rented this villa out?” Levi surprisingly laughed—loudly. “You truly are a careless fool.”

“How so?” Harrison responded after both gave us a nod, dismissing themselves from the insane interruption.

“I purchased this entire island years ago for Reece after she gave birth to Alexander. I wanted her to have a private place to visit when we vacationed on Earth as a family.”

“I’ve been paying you—the bank of Pasidian Palace—for their love fest out here?”

Levi’s laugh was boisterous, and it made me smile, watching the always-serious man laugh so hard that his eyes began to water.

“You have got to be kidding me,” Harrison said as he rolled his eyes.

“You should have come to me first, but your impatience has fed a village of orphaned and homeless children that Angie and Reece came upon last week,” Levi said. “The faithful Pemdai people appreciate your generosity as always.”

“Well, I’ll not argue with that; however, I’m confident you’ll buy the empress another stallion with my precious money as well.”

“Quit rambling,” Levi said. “Let us get back to the ladies. They have been waiting for our arrival all day, not realizing you took off to badger these poor shifters.” The emperor looked at us, “Until next time, friends.”

“We’ll be in touch,” Harrison said with a wink as they turned and walked down the shore toward a line of trees and disappeared through them.

“Thanks for the ceremony, E. Jenna is officially your cousin now,” Dom started with a proud grin. “Now, I have to beg of you to not come along to that academy with Jen and me when we report there.”

“If the emperor and commander are requesting you both to stand charge at IA, I will be there. I have more control over my shifting powers, and I will help protect both of you.”

“So, you’re not going to budge on my request?” Dom smiled at his cousin.

“No,” Ethan shook his head. “I will protect you, and I will protect Jenna.”

Ethan shifted into the owl, and we watched him fly up into the sky and disappear as he teleported off the island.

Dom took me into his arms, “Well, let’s make the most of it before life as a supernatural undercover-cop begins.”

“I love you.” I smiled up at Dom. “If I didn’t have you, I think the request of the Guardians would have me finding a way to end this immortal life of mine.”

Dom’s lips came down on mine. “We’ll handle the business, and who knows, maybe IA will be a better place with us running it.”

“You think we’ll have that authority?”

Dominic chuckled. “You are the beloved daughter of the Guardian Commander. I think we pretty much own that school now.”

Dom and I spent the rest of the evening watching the sunset. Even though Harrison made it a ridiculous ceremony, both Dom and I remained sincere and devoted to our vows. After a beautiful sunset and an overly romantic dinner at a fancy restaurant, Dom and I used the rest of the evening and time we shared on the island to fulfill our every desire.

He was the love of my life, my one true mate, and now, with our wolves merged as one, we were sealed in our own supernatural way as we honored our destiny.
