  Acknowledgments

In so many ways, this book was deeply personal for me. Big confession here: I suffer- acutely- from body dysmorphia. It is crippling, and it doesn’t matter what my weight is- I struggle to love my body the way it is- thinking- I’ll be happy if I can just lose….

It’s total bullshit of course… especially as women- our bodies change all the damn time. We get chubby in puberty, then slim up as we move into young womanhood. If we take birth control, our bodies may change again if we take birth control. They certainly change if you get pregnant, and breastfeed. And then it changes again in middle age, and finally menopause.. We have to learn to meet ourselves where we are. To love the person we see in the mirror- even if it’s not the body that magazines, T.V., movies, the internet, or other people tell us we should have. I’m still working on all this too. It’s a daily battle- to love my body… to love me just as I am. And if it is for you too- I wish you peace and light and love. I wish you a compassionate heart for yourself. You are beautiful and worthy- just as you are.

And then there are the themes of forgiveness running through the book. How does one find a way to forgive someone close to you that’s hurt you? Nico figured it out with the help of Alison, but honestly? I’m still working on it.

There’s one more book in this quartet- Danny Pendergast- honorary Case brother. He is bad to the bone and so, so sexy. And there’s only one woman strong enough, badass enough to bring him to his knees- Roxi Rickoli. Stay tuned

As always- just like winemaking doesn’t happen in a vacuum- neither does writing. I’m incredibly grateful for my team- Kara my editor, Chas the PR Wonderqueen, Erin my magic making assistant, my darling daughters, and my husband who has complete and total faith in me. And who tells me I’m cute. Every day.

Lastly- Thank YOU my readers. You have no idea how much your letters and reviews of support mean to me. How much your readership means to me. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to bring you the stories of my heart. So as I wrap book number 15 (cue the confetti) I lift my glass to you!
