He would love her too. When I tell him the things she’d say, the way she took care of me—the way we took care of each other—he smiles and says, “You’re so much like her, aren’t you?” And I thank him for caring and for seeing a little bit of her in me. He takes out his favorite picture of us from the photo album and puts it in a frame in his living room.
Our living room. I’m still having a hard time thinking of it as ours. But I’m getting there, and maybe one day I’ll actually believe it.

I HAVE SO many great people in my life. I love each and every one of you. Thank you for loving me, encouraging me, and for helping me in this writing process. I’m always afraid I’ll forget someone, so this makes me nervous, but I have to give some extra love to:
