Paranoia, Pixies and Prophecies

“Precisely,” Laslow nodded.
“Well, Shannon, sweetie, you better go find me one of those veils you keep seeing because I want to wring that man’s neck with my bare hands,” Marcella growled angrily.
“We cannot be so rash about this,” Laslow said quickly. “A revolution will take time. My first step was merely to free myself from his prison and return to this world, where I know the other halflings reside. Actually, Shannon, it was hearing about what you did to the Hunter’s Council that gave me the idea.”
“You heard about that?” I asked in surprise.
“Yes,” he nodded. “I was very proud. And it made me think.”
“About the halflings,” I responded. “I’ve been thinking the exact same thing.”
“And what is that, exactly?” Mom demanded, jumping in and staring right at me.
I paused, glancing at Laslow to ensure that we were on the same page.
It was a little strange, how connected I felt to him already. Maybe it was our elven blood, or something else, but it was like I could already tell what was on his mind and what his next move would be.
And luckily enough, it appeared that our next moves lined up.
“We’re going to find all of the halflings and build our own little army,” I replied proudly. “Because there is one thing I know for sure: we don’t know the half of what a part-fae, part-witch hybrid can do. And it’s about time that someone found out.”
We finished our discussion about the halflings and the fae world, and went off to bed, mostly comfortable in our plan.
Carrying it out would be another story, of course, but for now, I just needed to put one foot in front of the other.
Tanya and I wouldn’t be so alone anymore. And hopefully, we could get some answers as to just how much we were capable of.
Thank You for Reading!
It’s always terrifying to release a book into the world. You don’t know whether people will love it or hate it, but either way, you at least hope they read it.
Thank you so much for taking a chance on this author and grabbing book four in my Midlife Mayhem Series.
I’ve planned for six books in this one, maybe more, so make sure you’ve signed up for my newsletter to be notified of releases!
Also, I’m hard at work the next books at present. I can’t wait to share them with you!
