I started working on Beyond Dead: The Winter in the summer of 2020 when we were all in quarantine from COVID-19. It seemed like the world was living in a dystopian world, though not as terrifying as a zombie apocalypse, it was far scarier because real people, not those made up in literature and film, were actually dying from this virus. I contracted it myself as well as my entire family. We were fortunate enough to have only mild symptoms and were able to survive the virus with very little symptoms.
As winter fell on New Hampshire and we had a few snowstorms, nothing much these days until February, I began to lose myself in the story again. I missed Tuck, Rebel, Kat, Bowen – who I was stil initially writing as a baby even though by book five he is almost a year old – Justin, Robbie and new addition Drane who grows attached to Kat, Tuck and Bowen.
So, this time – if you are reading this on your Kindle or the paperback – know that I am finishing Beyond Dead: The Winter this year and it will be released as the final installment of the Beyond Dead series.
