I enter her with force, and her pussy tightens around me. My hips pick up speed, slamming into her four more times before she detonates, vocalizing her release loudly. I fuck her harder through her orgasm in an effort to chase my own.

“Where do you want me to come, Ember? Inside you, or can I mess up this beautiful pussy?”

“Oh, God, on me, Dugger,” she grunts.

I thrust once, twice, and the third time, I pull out, gripping my cock in my hand and pumping my release all over her. She reaches down and runs her fingers through it, rubbing my come into her clit. The image is so fucking hot, that I almost feel like I can come again. I’ll definitely file it away in my mental images for any time I need to come.

I smirk, leaning down to whisper in her ear. “I came on it, so it’s mine.”

She pushes me with her hand, so I stand, and when she sits up, she wraps her lips around my still-hard cock, sucking it deep into her throat. Holy shit, that other image was hot, but this? I have to hold on to her so that my knees don’t give out. She licks and sucks, and knowing that she can taste herself on me could really make me come again. Pulling off with a pop, she licks the underside from root to tip, staring me in the eyes the whole time.

“And now your cock is mine.”

  Je-sus.

I place my hand under her chin, lifting it as I bend down and say against her lips, “All of me is yours, Blue.”

“Ember, the last box of your clothes won’t fit in your dad’s car, so I put it in your brother’s.”

Ember rolls her eyes. “I still can’t believe you asked him to help us, Mom.”

“I didn’t ask. He offered. And since you’re scheduled for shoulder surgery Monday, you need all the help you can get.”

Turns out, Ember’s shoulder was a little more damaged than originally believed. She needs to have a procedure to fix some weirdly named thing on the joint so that it can be functional again. It’s a pretty routine procedure, or so I’m told, but she will be out of work for at least three weeks to heal. I get to take care of her, which means three weeks of Ember all to myself. Lucky me.

“You need to forgive your brother, sweetie,” Liz instructs her daughter. “I think he’s trying to make up for how he treated you when he last saw you.” She walks into the kitchen for one last look around. “He says that staying busy helps him, and since he’s trying so hard to stay sober and voluntarily checking into rehab tomorrow, I figured we couldn’t turn down his offer.”

Mr. Zills enters the apartment. “All that’s left is the furniture,” he sings, rubbing his hands together. “Douglass, you wanna get the living room stuff first?”

“No, sir,” I answer. I think we should take the bedroom furniture first since we are delivering the couches to the teen shelter. This stuff should go in last.”

He follows me into the bedroom, and I’m unsure he should be carrying a heavy mattress. Yeah, he’s fit, but still. Queen sized mattresses are not exactly light.

I take the lead side, so I will be backing up. When we lift the mattress, we hear something fall behind the bedframe, and I have a sneaky suspicion what it is.

“What in the world was that?”

“Part of the bedframe just hit the wall, Mr. Z.”

After we maneuver the mattress through the doorway, I stop.

“Blue, you might want to go in there and check the wall to make sure we didn’t mess it up.” I nod toward her bedroom, widening my eyes to indicate there’s more to the story.

Her head tilts to the side and she narrows her eyes, not getting what I’m telling her.

“Check all the way to the floor. It might be Mambo-size bad.”

Now, her eyes widen, and she takes off in that direction.

Her father and I, with some help from Emory, get the mattress situated in the truck I rented for today. I know Ember has a little residual trauma from her kidnapping four weeks ago, so I told her she was forbidden to put anything in the truck. She, so far, has been listening.

When I make it back into the apartment, I find Ember coming out of her bedroom. I pull her into the bathroom quickly and shut the door.

  “Well?”

She pulls something out of her back pocket and shows me. “Yeah,” she says, “it was my Beast. Thank you for that. It’s bad enough my mom saw the penis pillow. I really don’t need to explain what the hell this thing does.”

I wrap my arms around her and pull her to my chest, kissing her favorite spot under her ear. “You can show me what it does later.”

She whimpers. “Because of you, babe, I have no need for this thing anymore.”

“That’s true, but I have a need to see you use it.” I rub my lengthening cock on her stomach. “Just thinking about it makes me hard as a fucking rock.”

“Dugger,” she whispers, but calling me the name she uses only in the bedroom isn’t helping my hard on. “My mother is on the other side of that door.”

Oh shit, she’s right. Last thing I need is to leave this bathroom with a boner that can grind a diamond into dust.

“How are you going to smuggle it out of here?”

She snaps her fingers. “Piece of cake. I’ll ask her to make sure Emory and my dad don’t scratch whatever piece of furniture they’re moving, then I’ll sneak it into my purse.” Grabbing the doorknob, she shrugs. “Easy peasy.”

When she opens the door, her mother is coming out of the bedroom.

“Wow, that was quick, even for a quickie,” Liz jokes as she walks past, making me chuckle.

“Do not laugh at that, Douglass.”

I kiss her forehead. “It was funny.”

Ember does as she plans, instructing her mother to watch over the other men. When they clear the room, Kelly appears in the doorway.

“Wow, you guys work quickly,” she says, walking over to hug Ember quickly.

“What’s that?” she asks, pointing to Ember’s back.

“Well, it’s my missing Beast,” Ember offers, pulling the thing out of her pocket to prove to its existence to Kelly. “I guess it fell behind the mattress when the fucker changed the sheets.”

“You have a Beast?” Liz asks from the doorway. “I just love mine, although the black one is the small one.” She walks over and elbows her daughter. “Mine is purple, which is a couple of sizes larger.”

Kelly cackles as Ember turns pale. I guess I just permanently lost my opportunity to watch her use it. Shit.

“Welcome home, Blue.” I kiss her forehead as she curls into me on the couch.

She sighs happily, and I find it’s my favorite non-sexual sound she makes.

“When do you want to go to the shelter to find a rescue dog?” she asks.

I pull back, looking in her eyes. “You’re ready for that?”

She nods. “When you are. I figure, why wait?”

I move her hair off her forehead and smile. “I think I want to enjoy you for a little while before we take on a dog.”

Come to think of it, why wait? Good advice.

I clear my throat. “I love you, Blue.”

She sits up and turns to me, pulling her feet under her butt and bouncing.

  “Really? Already?”

I smile at her cuteness and cup her cheek.

“Yeah, really. I’m hopelessly and madly in love with you… already. Actually, since you head butted me.”

“Good, because I love you, too, Dugger.”

  I smile. “I know.”

Crossing her arms over her chest, she raises an eyebrow. “You sound pretty confident about that.”

I shrug. “Someone suggested I join her in the sky-high confidence. So here I am.”

She lunges forward, throwing her good arm around my neck.

“Since my surgery is Monday and I’ll be out of commission for a few days, what’s say we make up for the days we’ll lose and christen every damn surface of this house in the next twenty four?”

My hands find her pants, pul
ling them down her legs. “Have I eaten your pussy on the couch yet, Blue?”

She nods her head. “Yes, but it seems like a good place to start.”

  Epilogue

  Ember

  Well, damn.

I stare at the test results, still unsure how to feel about them.

Douglass is on his way to get me from my shift at the hospital. He is coming from his work/family Christmas party where he voluntarily helped Brody, along with all the other guys he works with, perform a flash-mob proposal to Kaelyn. I watched a couple of the rehearsals, impressed and a little amused by how committed the bodyguards and the famous boys were to the whole battle-of-the-boy-band notion. Kaelyn should love it.

  And I… I’m pregnant?

Because of all that’s gone on in the last two months and because of my surgery, I was a couple of weeks late making an appointment to get my birth control shot. The doc ordered a pregnancy test before the shot, and… surprise. But we’ve used condoms for weeks. None broke. No caught-up-in-the-moment times. We had not even one weak moment.

  I’m just… dumbfounded.

“Hey, Blue,” Douglass says, kissing me on my forehead. “You ready?”

I nod absently and let him grab my hand to lead me to his car.

“What’s that?” he asks, pointing to the paper in my hand.

Shit, I forgot to hide it. I mean I just picked up the results just now from the lab, so I kind of should be forgiven for spacing out for a few seconds. If I had time to process and a few minutes to think this through, I’d plan a clever way to tell him. Some message in a fortune cookie thing, a game of hangman, or I could try to spell it out in alphabet soup. But no, I go with…

“Apparently, you knocked me up,” trying for a joke and shoving the results in his face.

He stops mid stride, pulling the paper into focus. I watch his face for signs of any red flags; instead, his eyes soften and fill with tears. He throws his arms around me, burying his face in my neck.

I feel the sting of my tears, making me sniffle.

“I hope this means you’re happy, Doug, because if you’re not…”

He pushes away from me, wipes his face, and kneels down on one knee. “Marry me.”

It’s a command, not a question, and who would have guessed that my vagina appreciates being commanded. I ignore the squeezy thing she does, because now’s not the time.

  I nod. “Okay.”

“Oh, shit. Wait,” he says, looking at the ground, “forget I asked that. I have a ring at home, and I wanna do this better.”

“Babe,” I say, pulling his hand and urging him to stand, “it was perf… wait, you have a ring?”

He pulls me to the car. “Yes, and if we hurry, I can do this right.”

“Wait, why do you have a ring already? I thought we agreed we’d talk about it later when we were both ready.”

He spins in front of me and stops, cupping my cheeks and giving me the sweetest kiss of my life, but that could be because I’m gonna marry the man I’m insanely in love with. And bonus, I just so happen to be pregnant with his baby. Score.

“I wanted to be ready when you gave me the green light.” He pulls away, digging in his pocket for his phone. “I need to call Mabel. She’s going to be so happy. We have some planning to do. Hopefully all the places in Vegas aren’t booked. Do you have a preference about the time or date? You need a dress, and oh, we need to go pick out rings. I think I want a black band, and you need a band to go with the ring I have. And I hope we can get an Elvis impersonator to perform the ceremony since Mabel’s such a fan. I really hope for her sake…”

Man, agree to marry him, and he turns into a thirteen-year-old girl planning her wedding.

He smacks his forehead. “Wait, do you think we should invite more family?”

I smile. “Nope. I want it to just be you and me, and Mabel, of course. Eloping. No muss, no fuss, no controlling moms taking over, no hurt feelings. Whatever happens, happens. I’m cool with marrying you in capris and flip flops.”

“Whatever you want.” He smiles, throwing up his fist in the air. “I’m going to be a husband and a dad!”

  “Yeah, ya are.”

He pulls me into his arms, cupping my cheek in his palm.

“I’m so glad I found you, Blue. I love you so fucking much.”

He pulls me in for another toe-curling kiss.

  “I love you more, Babe.”

I’ll tell him about naming the kid Brody tomorrow.

I will keep it short and sweet this time. No really, I will. Promise.

First and foremost, if Kelly didn’t exist, Dugger’s story would still remain a mystery. The second she finished One Up, she bribed me with a bottle of tequila, and after we shared a few shots (or the whole bottle, the details are a bit fuzzy), I’m almost certain she threatened me to make him a reality. However it happened, she is to blame for this book.

Secondly, Tiffany is an amazing ER nurse who fielded my questions about what goes on behind the scenes at a hospital. She provided an anonymous story or two, which may or may not have made it into the book, whatever. Thank you.

To my beta readers and the magnificent seven, I humbly thank you for all the love and encouragement you throw my way. I’m starting to think you guys like me.

And to my family, thank you for letting me do what I love, sometimes at the expense of family time. You are patient… sometimes, but I love you all the time.
