A Trillion to One

“Damn Love,” Trillion hissed as she worked him in and out of her mouth faster. He was about to cum but his office door flew open, temporarily distracting him.
“Where is your wife? She got about thirty more books to sign for the team to ship out,” Jordon said as he looked over at Trillion.
“I’m cumming. I mean, she’s coming,” Trillion said with a strained expression on his face.
“The fuck is wrong with you?” Jordon asked as he looked at him strangely. Amore was hidden by his desk so Jordon couldn’t see her. Trillion’s upper half was the only thing exposed, so he couldn’t see what was going on either.
“Close the door,” Trillion ordered.
“Oh, my fault cuz,” Jordon said as he stepped into the office and closed the door behind him.
“No muthafucker! You need to be on the other side of it. Get out!” Trillion yelled, right as he unloaded into Amore’s mouth. He closed his eyes tight as she continued to suck him until he was dry.
“Thanks for ruining my husband’s nut Jordon. He told you that I was coming,” Amore said as she stood up and headed to the bathroom that was connected to Trillion’s office.
“The fuck! Man, y’all are some straight up freaks,” Jordon said as he fell out laughing.
“You need to learn to knock before you just walk up in people’s shit,” Trillion fussed as he fixed his clothes.
“How the hell was I supposed to know that you and Amore were in here getting it in?” Jordon laughed.
“Let me go finish this up so we can go,” Amore said when she exited the bathroom. She walked out of the office as Trillion’s eyes followed her. Amore was walking perfection and he could never get enough of her.
“That’s what the fuck I’m talking about. That’s one of the things that I miss about being in a relationship. I’ve been off the market too long and shit just don’t feel right no more,” Jordon admitted.
“You need to stop being so stubborn and go get your girl back. She’s been trying but you been on one lately,” Trillion said.
“Man, fuck that. I tried for years and nobody felt sorry for me. I’m not gon’ let her keep stringing me along. I can’t lie and say that I don’t miss her but she gon’ feel this shit. Her feelings ain’t the only ones that matter,” Jordon argued.
“I feel you, cuz, but I’m hoping for the best,” Trillion said.
“Me too but I’m done being played. And speaking of playing, what’s up with Leah? Jackie told me that she showed up at her house acting a fool. She knows my auntie don’t play that shit,” Jordon noted.
“Crazy bitch had my mama about to catch a case. She calmed down for a while until me and Amore got married. Shit went all the way left after that. Tristyn be crying when I bring her over there now and that only makes it worse. Leah is telling everybody that Amore turned her daughter against her and all that other bullshit. I haven’t been over there in three weeks because I’m sick of the shit. I need to bring Tristyn over there soon though because I need to get her stuff to register her in school,” Trillion said.
“Yeah, we have to register Jazz too. But I need you to help me understand something cuz. Tristyn lives with you now. Why is Leah still living up in your house rent free?” Jordon questioned.
“As much as she makes me sick, I’m not trying to do her dirty like that. She’s the mother of my child and I have to think about Tristyn in everything that I do. Besides, I believe in karma. I didn’t get this far in life by fucking over people,” Trillion replied.
“Yeah, you’re right about that.” Jordon nodded in agreement.
“Jordon! Come out here for a second!” Amore yelled from the front of the warehouse.
Trillion was nosy, so he got up and followed him out of the office. They were both surprised to see Erica standing out there talking to Amore. She never came to Jordon’s job unless they were doing lunch together but they weren’t even seeing eye to eye like that now.
“What’s good Erica? Is my daughter okay?” Jordon asked.
Instead of answering, Erica dropped down to one knee and pulled out a black velvet ring box. Amore gasped and put her hand over her mouth as she and Trillion smiled at them. Erica was serious about getting her man back and Amore didn’t blame her. Jordon was a good dude and she was hoping that things worked out for them.
“Get up,” Jordon said as he helped her stand to her feet.
“I just need you to know how serious I am about us Jordon. I don’t know what I was afraid of before but I’m ready now. I don’t even want anything big. We can go to the courthouse tomorrow if you want to. Living without you is miserable and that’s all the confirmation I need to know that you’re the one. You don’t need to ask me anymore because I’m asking you. Will you marry me, Jordon?” Erica asked as she slipped the gold band on his finger.
“No need to ask a question that you already have the answer to. Yes, baby, I’ll marry you,” Jordon said as all the workers in the warehouse started to clap and cheer.
“It’s about damn time,” Trillion joked as he walked over and hugged them both.
“Exactly. How you let Trillion and Amore get married before us?” Jordon asked while looking at Erica.
“None of that matters anymore. Y’all are getting married now and that’s all that counts. Congrats guys. I’m so happy for y’all,” Amore said as she embraced them both.
“Thanks y’all. I was so damn nervous,” Erica said as she blew out a breath of relief.
“I don’t know why. You already know where I stand,” Jordon replied as he pulled her into a hug.
“Take the rest of the day off bruh. I’ll handle everything around here,” Trillion said.
“Preciate that cuz,” Jordon replied as he and Erica made their way out of the building.
While Amore finished autographing books, Trillion checked on the employees to make sure that everything was running smoothly. He had to hire a few more people and that seemed to be a good move. They hadn’t been having too many back orders and people were praising them for their fast shipping. He was happy to see that everything was good to go and Amore’s books were the only thing they had to ship out now.
“Once you finish with that, we can bounce. That’s the only thing that they’re waiting to ship,” Trillion noted.
“Okay. I only have fifteen left but my hand keeps cramping up,” Amore complained. She smiled when Trillion grabbed her hand and started to massage it. He was as close to perfection as a man could get and she was blessed to have found him.
“Better?” he asked once he was done.
“Much better. I can’t believe that I actually ran from you in the beginning. I must have been crazy,” Amore said.
“Yeah but I did a good job of chasing your ass. You put that good pussy on me and tried to dip. I wasn’t having that shit though,” Trillion laughed.
“Now we’re married with kids. What are the odds of that?” Amore asked.
“A trillion to one,” he answered as they both laughed at his joke.
Their light banter was interrupted by the ringing of Amore’s phone. When she saw that it was Chanell calling, she instructed Trillion to put the call on speaker. Since being shot, Dallas had been staying by Chanell and AJ. She was still a little sore but she was recovering fine. She didn’t have any internal damage and they were all thankful for that much.
“Hey cousin!” Amore yelled into the phone.
“Uncle Clarence just called me,” Chanell said, referring to their uncle who lived in Mississippi.
“Really? How did he get your number?” Amore asked. They hadn’t talked to their uncle or any of their other family members in years.
“Instagram,” Chanell replied. She had her cell phone number listed for her business so that was nothing new.
“What did he want?” Amore asked.
“He’s in New Orleans. He said he got a call two days ago about Gianna and Elise. I guess he was listed as their next of kin. But anyway, they got killed a few days ago. A hit and
run,” Chanell informed her with no emotion in her tone.
“Damn, I thought all the crack they smoked for years would have done it,” Amore replied.
“Me too cousin!” Dallas yelled in the background.
“He said that they messaged you first but they never got a reply. One of his daughters found my info and he called to tell me what happened. I already told him that I’m not giving a dime towards a funeral and if it’s on a day when one of my shows come on, I probably won’t even make the services,” Chanell said, making her sister and cousin laugh.
“His message to me probably got lost in the shuffle. I get so many every day and I don’t even get a chance to read most of them,” Amore noted.
“He said that they’re staying down here for a few days and he wants to meet us for lunch before they go back,” Chanell said.
“I’ll pass,” Amore replied.
“I said the same thing but this overly friendly bitch said that she’s gonna go,” Chanell fussed while referring to Dallas.
“It’s free food bitch. Meadow said she’s going too,” Dallas said.
“Fuck Meadow!” Chanell spat angrily.
“Well, I’ll go to the services, but I’m not paying for nothing either and I’m not doing lunch. The first few years of my life were kind of decent, so I’ll take that into consideration and pay my respects,” Amore said as if it weren’t her mother who she was speaking of.
“Ugh! I guess I’ll go to this bullshit too,” Chanell replied.
“Just let me know when it is,” Amore said.
“Okay cousin. I’ll talk to you later,” Chanell said before she hung up the phone.
“I’m sorry about your mama, Love. Let me know if you need me to do anything,” Trillion offered.
“I’m good baby. I’m not about to sit up here and pretend like I’m sad or grieving over Gianna. I lost her to crack a long time ago. I don’t even know what it feels like to have a mother. But, as long as I have breath in my body, Tristyn and Trinity will never know that feeling,” Amore swore.
“I agree.” Trillion nodded.
He sat and talked with Amore until she was done with the books. Once the workers boxed them up, he let them leave early and locked up the warehouse for the night.
“Bitch, who the fuck put those pictures up there? Gianna and Elise didn’t look nothing like that no more,” Chanell whispered as they sat on the front row of the funeral home.
“Girl, that’s old pictures from when we lived back in Mississippi,” Amore giggled.
“Shh!” one of her cousins who sat behind them hissed.
“Did that bitch just shh me? I’ll flip Gianna and Elise’s ashes over when I turn this bitch out,” Amore ranted.
“Calm down Love. You and Chanell are loud as hell. You might think y’all are whispering but everybody can hear you,” Trillion noted.
“I’m telling you right now Trillion, don’t try to stop me if I have to lay one of these hoes out. I already told you that I don’t fuck with none of them anyway,” Amore said.
“Just relax. I’m sure that nobody came here to fight. You look too good for that,” he replied while kissing her hand.
Amore remained quiet as she listened to a pastor, that her uncle probably paid, give the eulogy. He didn’t know a damn thing about the two women whose bodies were in the urns and that much was clear. He kept calling them beloved mothers and that statement alone was a lie. Once it was over, Amore, Chanell and Dallas walked outside while Meadow hung around and talked to some of their family. When their uncle walked over to them, Trillion squeezed Amore’s hand, silently warning her to behave.
“Man, y’all grew up to be so beautiful. I’m just so proud of all that y’all have accomplished. I be telling everybody back home that my niece is an author. They be buying up your books too,” Clarence said as he smiled at Amore. He obviously didn’t read her first series because he wouldn’t have been smiling so hard. The part of the story that was about him was anything but nice.
“Thanks,” Amore said with a phony smile.
“Hi, I’m Amore’s uncle, Clarence. I already know who you are. I follow you on social media,” he said as he extended his hand towards Trillion.
“It’s nice to meet you sir,” Trillion replied with a smile. Clarence never even bothered to introduce himself to AJ and he was standing right there. He was acting like a groupie and it was pissing Amore off.
“Maybe y’all can come to Mississippi to visit one day,” Clarence said while directing his comment more towards Trillion.
“Why? When I really needed to come that way, you turned me down. Nah, we’re good on that,” Amore said, answering for them both.
“I apologize for my actions but that was years ago Amore. I tried to keep you with me, but you know that your mother wasn’t having that,” Clarence reminded her.
“What about when I was eighteen and getting my ass beat by a nigga every other night? I begged you to let me come by you for a little while and you hung up in my face. I don’t give a damn how long ago it was. You didn’t fuck with me back then and I’m not fucking with you now,” Amore spat angrily.
“It was nice to meet you, sir, but we have to get going,” Trillion said as he pulled his wife away and towards the car. Amore was loud and making a scene.
“Fuck him!” Amore spat angrily.
“I understand how you feel Love but it’s over. You said what you needed to say, now let that shit go. You got too many good things happening in your life to let the past consume you,” Trillion said.
“You’re right. I said what I had to say and I’m done with it,” Amore replied.
She and Trillion were grilling by the pool and her cousins and AJ were coming over. Amore had prepared a few side dishes that morning and all she had to do was run everything through the oven. Once they got the girls from Gary and Jackie, they went home and got things ready for their guests.
About an hour later, Trillion had the grill going and Chanell had just called to inform them that they were downstairs. Amore and the girls stayed by the pool while Trillion went down to get them. When everyone got up to the rooftop, Amore was surprised to see that Azra was with them. She didn’t want to ask any questions but she couldn’t wait to talk to her cousins later.
“Hey lil Ariana Grande,” Dallas said as she kissed Trinity’s hand.
“You better be lucky that you’re not fully recovered,” Amore threatened as she swatted Dallas’ hand away from her baby. Trinity laughed at anything and she was smiling all in her face.
“Bitch, you will never guess what Abe just called AJ and said,” Chanell said as she sat in the chair next to Amore.
“What?” Amore asked.
“He said that they questioned Viper about Elise and Gianna’s hit and run,” Chanell said.
“Are you serious?” Amore sat up and asked. She was feeding Trinity but she needed to hear that tea.
“Yeah, one of the other crackheads that they were cool with told the police that Viper beat them up not too long before they got killed. They supposedly stole some dope from him and he was pissed,” Chanell replied.
“Did he really do it though or are they just assuming?” Amore asked.
“I think the nigga did it. Skip told Abe that he’s been on some reckless shit since he’s been home,” AJ spoke up.
“I just don’t understand. Viper is just one person. How the fuck can he cause so much trouble for so many people?” Amore questioned out loud.
“He just ain’t run into the right nigga yet,” AJ pointed out.
“Exactly!” Chanell replied.
The rest of the day was spent with them eating, talking and drinking. They were in and out of the pool and they played cards until about three in the morning. Amore was always happy when she was surrounded by the ones she loved and the ones who loved her in return. There was no motive and nothing fake about it. She couldn’t wait until they moved into their house because she planned to do something every weekend.
“T hat’s it Tristyn, no more snacks,” Amore said as she pushed the basket around the store. They only went to get some more water for Trinity but Tristyn had already picked up three things for herself.
“Aww, but you said that I could have some gummy worms,” Tristyn whined.
“Okay, but you have to put something back. If you keep this up, all of your teeth will fall out,” Amore noted.
“Yay! Then the tooth fairy will give me some money,” Tristyn replied.
“You are a mess little girl. Let’s get your candy so we can go,” Amore said, deciding to let her keep everything that was in the basket.
“I can get it!” Tristyn yelled as she ran away.
“Tristyn! Come back here. You know better than running away like that!” Amore yelled after her. She couldn’t just leave and run after her because Trinity was in the basket sitting in her car seat. Amore was going as fast as she could with the basket without falling and hurting herself or her baby. When she finally got on the candy aisle, Amore’s heart dropped when she saw Leah kneeling in front of Tristyn, giving her a tight hug.
“I got my candy mama,” Tristyn said as she pulled away from Leah and showed Amore the gummy worms that she’d picked up.
“Mama? She is not your mother. Who told you that?” Leah asked angrily. She’d seen videos on Instagram where Tristyn had called Amore mama but it was a different scenario now that she’d heard it firsthand. Leah’s feelings were hurt and she was angry.
“I have two mamas, just like my daddy,” Tristyn replied.
“No, you have one mother and that’s me. She is not your mother and don’t you ever call her that again,” Leah snapped, making Tristyn look like she wanted to cry.
