Things. My organizational tools: dot journal, Sharpie pens, sticky tabs, and highlighters. National Novel Writing Month. Word processing programs. The laptop that died, and the laptop that heroically replaced it. Whiteboards, paper, pens, twine, and tape. Half gloves, rice socks, and hair ties. So. Much. Music.
Apologies. To Travas: Sorry I ruined that one song for you by playing it on repeat for three hours. To Melissa: Sorry I called you more than zero times at two a.m. To Mom, Nina, and Brittany: Sorry I cut one of your favorite characters. To everyone not listed here: Thank you.
You’re Welcome. Coworker pals: The book has a wolf. You were right all along. To everyone who loved Ren: Have a wren instead. Ariel and Travas: Ren dies. Mom and Nina: Hat doesn’t. Mary: The book is published now, so you definitely have to read it. Dad: It’s finally here. I told you so. Nerdfighteria: Deadpan.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Rebecca McLaughlin is a Michigan nerd who appreciates sweet coffee, kindness, and the scientific method. She got her degree in chemistry and creative writing in 2014. Since that time, she’s worked as a technical writer in Michigan. When not working or crafting stories, Rebecca can be found practicing her knife-throwing skills or seeking out the perfect cup of coffee. She wrote Nameless Queen because she grew up lower-middle class (which was not ideal), went to a private college (which was weird), and made good friends along the way (which was wonderful). She realized that exploring the social and economic divide is difficult, but magic makes that exploration easier—or at least more entertaining.
