The first problem? Lacy seemed to be scared of heights. Courtney ended up carrying her, so I had to control both Molly and Buddy, as the others were ‘too busy’ concentrating on walking across a roof to help.

When we finally got to the next roof, another problem revealed itself to us: how on earth were we going to get down again? In one piece?

Eventually, I waited up on the flat-ish (Thankfully) roof, while everyone else climbed in through a window that was slightly open. Then, I had to lower the dogs into the window, before following myself. And Lacy did not like that!

But it was done, and we finally got out of that building, down a back road, and into our reliable Jeep. Success? Not just yet. We still had a million Zombies to lose, as Courtney was forced to start the engine and grab their attention.

  “Ashton?” She asked us hurriedly.

“Ashton!” We all cried in unison, as we zoomed onto the dark streets, the headlights illuminating many Zombies.

When we finally got onto the motorway, Courtney relaxed, and we turned on Survivor FM, just in time for the ‘Nightly News’:

Hello folks, Nigel Bell here, and you’ve tuned into Survivor FM, the hottest, and only, radio station in the Apocalypse! Time for the Nightly News!

So, what’s been happening? Well, in London, we’ve got reports of a large gathering of Zombies, headed towards a pub called the Holly Bush. Hey, maybe we’ll have some drunk Zombies on the run!

In other news, the Library Safe Houses around London have been scheming to kill all the survivors, God knows why, by sending them off with ‘Brain Wave Transmitters’ stuck to their arms, which attract Zombies! What happened to good, clean, old fashioned reading?

These Brain Wave Transmitters... Wait a minute, we’ve got a text... From Kate, who’s just heading to Ashton at the moment. She says they’re called ZAD, Zombie Attracting Devices, and that they caused the large Zombie Activity down at the Holly Bush. Thanks Kate!

As always, you can text or call in any news. I’m your host, Nigel Bell, and you’ve been listening to Survivor FM. Keep surviving, and here’s a song to rock to while you do! ‘We Will Kill You’, originally by Five. Enjoy!

The sound of ‘We Will Rock You’ filled the car, but, as usual, with ‘Zombified’ lyrics. Strangely, we weren’t in the mood for singing, so everyone kept quiet. Even the dogs.

Upon arriving in Ashton, we were greeted by the, now almost comforting, soft moan of small town Zombies. Stuff London, we belonged in Ashton, and it didn’t matter if we were hopping like frogs or running like deer, this was home.

Sophie, Teegan, Daniella and me managed to convince Courtney that the whole ZAD thing was just in London, and that Ashton Library was fine, so we ended up going there first.

Everyone was both surprised and glad to see us, and, after we’d all been checked for Zombie bites, we got some very early breakfast, and some information on Molly.

“She’s pregnant.” One of the workers said.

  “Really?” Courtney was amazed.

“Yep. Well, probably. Give it a few more weeks to be sure, but, especially with that little detail of your dogs goin’ missin’ for a little while, it’s probable.”

“Wow...” Daniella was excited. “How long should it take?”

“Usually? 60-64 days, but it can be less.”

“Ok, thanks.” Courtney said, before turning to me. “You could get some information on the internet, you know.”

  “Yeah, I will do.”

I didn’t know if I was happy, like Daniella, or surprised, like Teegan, or somewhere in-between, like Courtney and Sophie.

We made Molly a comfortable bed, and prepared to stay in the Library for quite a bit, as it was safe, secure and had a friendly environment.

While we stayed there, we got to know people more, and it felt nice to not have to ‘hop around’ from place to place. But the Library was, and always would be, a Safe House, not a home.

However, after about eight and a half weeks, our wait for Molly came to an end.
