I don’t know when I became a Christian, I only know I am a Christian. If you are questioning whether you belong to Jesus, it is important not to get distracted with these questions, ‘am I actually a Christian?’ ‘when did I become a Christian?’ Just make sure you are a Christian now! If you were trapped in a burning building, you would not spend time thinking about which floor you are managing to escape from, or what time of day it is. You would just make sure you are out; safe from the deadly smoke and flames! It is the same with the gospel. Just make sure you are united to Jesus; put your faith in Him and in His work for you at the cross, and be forgiven. Call on Him and He will deliver you ‘from the domain of darkness’ and transfer you ‘to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins’ (Col. 1:13-14).
