I could clearly see from the video feed that it was Darion next to the lobby elevators.
“Hi, come on up,” I said, and buzzed him in. Then I went to finish putting some things in my clutch.
Soon Darion knocked. I opened up the front door and smiled at him. “Hey.”
His eyes traveled down the length of my body in the slow way he’d looked at me when I was naked that morning and about to shower. My vagina throbbed once just from his look. Which shouldn’t have been possible. I’d heard the phrase, ‘he could turn me on with just a look,’ but I never even dreamed that it could be true.
“I do not want Moody or Tars seeing you like this,” he said in a dangerous tone. A thrill went through me from the possessiveness of his tone. Though I should have been wary of that, the way he looked at me was beyond sexy.
“Like how?” I asked. My voice was low and my gaze had stopped at his lips.
“So beautiful and alluring,” he said. He stepped inside and shut the door behind him. With the closing thud of the door I felt a thrum of arousal spread through me. Even my eyes lost focus for a second. I wondered briefly if Darion had some power I didn’t know about. A sexual mind force he was using over me.
“Oh...” was all I said, my tone breathy. Darion slid his hand around my waist and pulled me close to him.
“Let’s not see the show,” he murmured.
Nodding my head already, I agreed with him. “Okay,” I said. He bent his head. His lips met mine in a heated clash. Already he was pulling off my dress. My clutch hit the floor and he slid his hand up my back while the other got the dress up over my head. I felt the soft breeze of it fluttering to the ground. He picked me up and then pressed me against the door. His tongue and mine were tangled together and I wanted to do more. But things were limited in what could get done at the moment. Darion let me slide down onto my feet. Our hips were practically glued together. I pushed on his waist to get him to back up a couple of steps as I sank down to my knees.
I undid the buckle on his pants and pulled them down, followed by his boxers. His erection sprang free and I wrapped my hand around it tight. Darion grunted and then groaned outright when I took the tip into my mouth. I ran my tongue around it before taking the huge member as deeply as I could. His hips swayed back and forth just a little bit and he held my head in his hands, smoothing back tendrils of my hair every so often. When his cock grew rock hard, he pulled out of my mouth. He lifted me to my feet and turned me around. I bent towards the door, ready for him to push inside as I was already wet.
He found my entrance with the tip of his cock. He thrust deep inside. With my back arched I braced myself against the door. I tried hard to focus on staying upright. It was difficult as he was melting me from the inside. He felt amazing. Each thrust was better than the last. Darion held onto my waist tightly as he drove into me. Not ten minutes in I was at the height of several sensations. My body felt hot and cold, my muscles were tensed, but my joints felt loose. I knew I wouldn’t be able to hold myself up for long.
I called out his name as the orgasm crashed over me. My vision went blurry and I wasn’t aware of anything outside the pleasure of the orgasm. The next thing I knew we were on the floor. I was sprawled out over Darion’s body and he was breathing hard.
“Being with you like this is like riding a ticking explosive,” he said eventually. We both laughed.
“Right back at ya bub...” I sighed. “I’m not sure how we’re getting off the floor though,” I added.
“Let’s not,” he murmured.
Chapter 9
DARION LEFT MY PLACE the following morning. Right after I walked him out, I got a call from Mia.
“Why haven’t you been returning my texts?” she asked as soon as I answered the phone.
“Well I was busy last night,” I said guiltily.
“Um, hello? What about my setting you up with Gavin? You can’t cancel, I got him all excited to meet you. I really talked you up,” she said.
“When did you set us up to meet?” I asked.
“Tonight, and you’re going out for dinner at Katz so wear something nice. I’ll send you a picture of what he looks like so that you can recognize each other,” she said hurriedly.
“Alright...” I sighed. She was right, I couldn’t just stand the guy up. Especially not since Mia went through the trouble of setting everything up.
I had a busy day at work, mostly taking care of paperwork that Sherry had left behind. She’d dumped most of her responsibilities on me. I was annoyed and had a bad tension headache by the time I got home. But I took a couple of Advil and then got ready for the blind date.
Katz was a nicer restaurant so I wore a dress and heels. The drive over there wasn’t too bad. Once I got to the front of the restaurant I glanced around looking for Gavin. I spotted him standing just as aimlessly as I was off to the side of the double doors. He was wearing a nice dress shirt and blazer with a pair of snug jeans. He was definitely handsome, lean and muscular. His dark hair was shoulder length though and pulled back into a man bun. It didn’t look bad on him at all.
“Rea, right?” he said with a smile as I walked up to him.
“Yeah, and you’re Gavin...” I still wanted to make sure. He nodded with a chuckle and we shook hands.
“It’s nice to finally meet you. Mia’s told me a lot about you,” he said, his tone warm.
“Likewise, she thinks we’ll be perfect together,” I said, making him laugh.
“That’s exactly what she told me,” he said. I liked his seemingly warm character so far. It was a lot different from Darion’s quiet and observant intensity. He gestured to the doors which were opened by doormen. We went inside.
Gavin was nice, he really was...but as we sat down and talked more, I couldn’t help comparing him. I kept noting that Darion never fidgeted the way Gavin did. Darion wasn’t afraid to compliment me all night long. Yet Gavin, at the times conversation lulled, looked everywhere else but at me.
When dinner was over, Gavin gave me an awkward hug. We both made a vague disingenuous comment about calling each other. I couldn’t help but wonder if Darion had ruined me for all men in the future.
Darion
I LOOKED AT MY PHONE, the one issued to me for use while on the Mars Colony. I’d sent four messages to Rea throughout the day and she hadn’t responded. I even called her and she did not answer. The center of my chest felt hot in an uncomfortable way. It was a sensation I wasn’t used to at all. I hardly knew how to identify it. Worry was something those unsure of themselves felt. So, to be sure about Rea’s well-being, I had Moody and Tars look in on her. They should have been back two hours ago with word.
“Chief...” on cue, they stepped out onto the balcony, having arrived at the suite. Moody’s tone was wary.
“Is she alright?” I asked.
“We found her out for dinner at a well-to-do restaurant,” Tars said gruffly.
“Alone?” I asked. My mind was slow to grasp the possibility of her having been with someone else.
“No, she was with another Radonian, a male,” Moody said slowly.
“Out with another male?” I exclaimed. I did not mean to shout, but the dismay I felt was unusually hot. Why would Rea be with another when she had my interest? Was that man, one of the people I ruled over, the reason she’d hesitated about spending time with me? Had I been in competition with another the entire time?
“Perhaps it is best to forget Miss Norwood. She could only be a dalliance for you anyhow,” Tars suggested.
“She made me look like a fool,” I ground out through my teeth.
“No one has to know!” Moody said and shrugged.
“Find this Radonian she went out with...” I said.
“And then what Chief?” Tars asked. Moody had sobered with the seriousness of my tone.
“Have him killed on the basis of honor. But do not incriminate yourselves,” I ordered. I dismissed them with a wave of my hand, not wanting to hear whatever retort they may
have had. Once they were gone I arranged for discreet transportation. Then I used my own Radonian phone to put a tracer on the signal of Rea’s by sending a hidden message. The heat in my chest had not let up. All I could imagine was another man’s hands on her. Rea was mine!
Chapter 10
Rea
MIA POKED MY THIGH with her toe. She’d come over for dinner and I’d ended up moping the entire time. She was stretched out on the couch and I was balled up on the end with a cup full of ice cream.
“His trip is pretty much over. He’s going back to Radon tonight,” I sighed.
“Which means we should go out!” Mia said and hopped up.
“No...I think I’ll just sit here and wallow over the fact that I’ll never have anyone as good as Darion again,” I sighed again.
Mia groaned and rolled her eyes. “Okay I can’t be around your moping. You get one wallowing weekend and then it’s back to being upbeat and dating,” she said. “Deal?”
“Deal,” I said. My voice was slow, weak and depressed. Mia gave me a kiss on the top of the head and then she left. I finished the last bite of ice cream then got up to go get more. Only, there was no more. Neither was there any proper wallowing snacks in the pantry. I needed popcorn, cookies...and wine, definitely wine. I went to go pull on some shoes. I didn’t look anything special. I had a pair of tights on with an oversized sweater blouse. Even though it was summer. I was only going around the corner though to the little convenience store. They were usually open until eleven so I had about twenty minutes to get there and buy what I needed to buy.
The sidewalks were relatively sparse as I walked towards the store. There were more vehicles in the air and on the road than anything. I decided to walk to the store behind two huge apartment buildings rather than via the main route to cut my walking time in half. That way I wouldn’t have to walk down an extra half block. I could just cross the street.
I’d just passed the dumpsters behind one of the building when I heard a few extra sets of footsteps. I had just enough time to look behind me before something hard hit me across the temple. The world went dark.

Book 2: Stolen Away
Darion has acted in a way that’s changed both his and Rea’s lives. He abducted her to Radon. She’s faced with having to get used to life on the new planet, not to mention living with Darion, the hardheaded ruler of Radon who doesn’t seem all that remorseful at uprooting her from her life. Slowly Darion learns that there is more to Rea than he realized, and Rea starts to adapt to her new life, too. But just as it seems they’re finally getting on the same page, Rea is faced with the reality of things, and a choice she isn’t ready to make.
Chapter 1
Darion
“THE DOCUMENTS HAVE been approved, Chief Darion. You both have been cleared,” said the Chief Clerk, Nye. Nye took care of nearly all things involving paperwork and certain legalities for me.
“Thank you. Can you see to it that this letter is sent to Rea’s previous place of work?” I handed him the document I drafted of Rea’s resignation. She wouldn’t be returning to Mars or Earth. She’d be treated as royalty on Radon with me, so there was no need for her to work.
“Of course Chief,” Nye said. He bowed briefly at the waist before hurrying to carry out the task. I stood up to leave my study. Rea had just been discharged from hospital for the minor head injury she sustained and was being transferred to my private chambers for her recovery.
I stepped out of the study. Moody awaited me on the wall opposite the door. He was dressed in his casual military uniform. He was not set to return to his duties for another week.
“Chief Darion, may I ask...?” he said as he followed me towards my private wing in the Capital Palace.
“You will even if I say no,” I told him, my tone wry.
“Why did you have her brought here?” he hissed in a low voice. “Surely she will wake up and have all manner of foreign punishment brought down on you! The forgery alone is cause for several investigations. Not to mention the crime of abduction,” he said.
“Calm down Moody. I had her brought here because I knew there would be a tiresome ordeal if I’d asked while on Mars and discussed it with her. I simply relieved her of having to make the choice.”
“Don’t you think she will be angry with you for having her abducted?” he whispered, his tone still severe.
I waved my hand in dismissal, “Of course she will be upset initially. But she will grow used to her new circumstances and I’m sure she’ll come to like it here very much. Radon is extremely similar to Earth and many of Earth’s colonies. There is a large human population and influence here. She worked for the Radionian consulate on Mars, so Radon may as well be her second home,” I said.
“May as well,” he scoffed. “This can be trouble for you Darion,” he cautioned.
“Surely you don’t think that I cannot control the situation?” I asked, skeptical of Moody’s intentions in speaking to me.
“Of course I have faith in you Chief. But there is reason for concern here,” he said, backtracking.
“Do not worry yourself with something that does not concern you. Remember that you and Tars are not implicated in any of this,” I told him. My tone was final and that was the end of the conversation. Moody took a deep breath and then bowed to me.
“Until we meet again Chief,” he murmured. Moody turned on his heel then hastened back down the hall. I took the raised walkway from the public wing of the palace to the private one. As I arrived in my private chambers Rea was being arranged in my bed. The nurses folded the blanket down and lowered the lights over the bed.
I walked over and looked down at her. She appeared to be sleeping peacefully. Her complexion was only a shade paler than usual and her breathing was slow.
“How does she fare?” I asked the male nurse nearest me. He was hovering an indicator wand down the length of Rea’s body. It discovered no anomalies in her system.
“She is fine so far Chief. The real assessment will have to be when she wakes. There is no telling how the blow to her temple has affected her until she is conscious,” he said. “But all other assessments are favorable.”
“Good...I will alert you all when she wakes then,” I murmured. I felt a tightness at the center of my chest at the thought of her waking. I wanted to see her striking green eyes looking back at me. Intelligent and alert, though she would no doubt be upset with me.
“Very good Chief Darion. Until then,” the nurse said. He bowed before taking his exit with the two others. My phone gave a quiet alert and I took it out of my pocket while backing away from the bed. It was Nye calling.
“Speak,” I said once I answered.
“Chief, it appears that Rea has one very close friend on Mars named Mia. She is not yet aware of Rea’s absence. But we should take care of this before she raises alarm,” he said.
“Fine...I will handle it,” I said and ended the call. I strode over to the bag full of Rea’s things that had been brought to Radon along with her. After finding her phone I found contact information for the ‘Mia’ Nye mentioned. I sent a brief message, guised as Rea, that she would be visiting Radon to be with me for a while. Hopefully after Rea had recovered from any upset at having been abducted, I could return her phone so that she could truthfully confirm as much to Mia.
I took Rea’s bag out to my private study and hid it in a safe beneath the heavy wooden desk. Once that was done all I had left to do was wait for Rea to wake. Already I felt unease at simply standing around. It was late on Radon, nearly an hour after midnight. There was not much to do in the quiet capital after hours. I went down to the lower levels of the private wing, where my sculpting equipment awaited. The furnace was always kept hot. Surrounding it were various torches and welding tools.
In the middle of the large space was the half-completed chrome dragon I’d started working on. I pulled on my gloves and went over to the metal work table where the dragons’ scales sat to be welded.
Chapter 2
Rea
A HORRIBLE HEADACHE woke me up from a deep sleep. I pressed my hand to my temple and sat up. Had I drank too much wine the night before? How hard had I wallowed? My memory came back to me in slow bursts. I hadn’t made it to the convenience store...I’d been walking there, but then I was...
“Oh my god!” I cried. I opened my eyes and ignored the stab of pain at my eyes suddenly focusing. I glanced around, frantic. I was in a huge bed that had a four-poster canopy over it. All the curtains were tied back so I had a full view of the room. It was decidedly not mine.
My chest rose and fell rapidly as I took in the room. A few feet from the bed there was a small seating area surrounding a fireplace. Above that was a huge television. A few feet to the left of the bed was a full-length window that looked out over a picturesque beach. There was also a balcony that had an area to lounge as well as a small table and chairs.
I was riveted by the view of the ocean and sky. There was just something off about it, but in my groggy state I did not notice. Then it hit me. The ocean was reflecting two white orbs instead of one. When I glanced up at the sky again I realized there were actually two moons!
“Oh my god...” I groaned and then buried my face in my hands. I wasn’t on Earth; I wasn’t even on Mars.
“Rea, you’re awake.” My skin prickled with awareness at the sound of Darion’s smooth voice. My head snapped up and gave him the most venomous glare I could muster up.
“You abducted me!” I shouted.
Darion held his hands up in front of him, as if he were about to try taming a spooked animal. “Rea you must calm down. You have a head injury.”
“You did it!” I yelled.
“Rea calm down, we can discuss things, but you have to be calm,” he insisted.
“How the hell am I supposed to fucking be calm?! You kidnapped me to Radon! I have a life back on Mars! You can’t just have me jumped in back alleys and think I’m going to be calm because you say so!”
