Another sound now. A sliding side door of a van just seconds before he was in darkness again. He stared at the square of light, trying to bring it into focus, trying to will his body into action, all too late. The square of light which represented his freedom was slammed closed. As darkness filled his world, he imagined the monster in his head parting its blood red lips and giving a smug, sharp toothed grin.

I hope you enjoyed this little expanded glimpse into the world of the Whisper universe. I hope the insight into how things could have been and also a little look into the history of Oakwell and Hope House has been one you have at least found a little bit interesting. There are many more stories to tell in this universe and this book is the first little foray into those to gauge interest and see if there is a market for more. If this does well, then I’m sure you’ll see a volume two eventually and who knows, maybe one day that alternative version of Voices will make it to print in full so you can see what might have been had the creation process gone differently.
