“No. Nothing at all. I was just lost in thought for a moment. Good things though I assure you.”
“Oh okay well good. With you, I can never tell. It’s either usually good or it’s terrible news. I’m glad you were just thinking. I’ve been doing a lot of that myself honestly.”
“Hmm… penny for your thoughts then?”
“Let me finish this glass of bourbon and I’ll tell you everything that’s been on my mind.” Trent took a long drink from the glass and then smiled at Kristina, taking her hand within his. “I just can’t believe everything that has happened over the past month. I mean… I’m sorry about Rachelle for one. Listen I had no clue that she wasn’t wrapped so tight. I just thought that she ghosted me and found another guy. I didn’t know that well—“
“You didn’t know that she was planning on killing me and half our family and friends because she had some weird obsession with you?”
“Yeah… sigh. I didn’t know any of that. When I met her I saw that you were happy with that new guy the nearly bald one with boat—“
“Trevor?”
“Yeah… I thought well, I guess that’s nice that she’s going to settle down and start her a new life. I guess that spurred me on in a way to pursue another woman. Damn Kristina, had I known that it was only a job I may have not even pursued her. To think this would have stopped so much from happening and so much pain in others’ lives.”
“Trent… wow. I can’t believe that you’re feeling that way. Listen. Sweetie, it’s not your fault. None of that was your fault. Fate just fucks things up sometimes and innocent people get hurt in the process. You of all people should know that’s just life. I’m not upset about it. You had your own reasons for dating her. I know that you were probably lonely and honestly… yeah. You deserved to have your own life and move on. I love you and I am one hundred percent in love with you, but at the same time I don’t own you… if you ever want your freedom, well that’s only one conversation away, Trent.”
“No. That’s not it…I mean the freedom…yeah I was lonely, but all Rachelle did was put a band aid on the bullet wound so to speak. She was just a distraction so that I could feel a little less lonely in a world without you in it.” Kristina looked up at Trent and sniffled softly. She couldn’t help herself any longer. Tears streamed down her face and her mascara ran slightly. “Fuck you, Trent. Come on…let’s go upstairs.”
Chapter 3
They settled the check and Trent took Kristina’s arm once again. They both agreed that the dinner and of course the entertainment was excellent. Of course, Trent hadn’t planned on telling Kristina everything he did in that moment, but somehow felt better that it was off his chest. It was the truth, the entire time he was with Rachelle he just felt that unshakable belief that Kristina would one day come home and he could breathe once again. When they reached the hotel room, Kristina wasted no time in showing Trent exactly what she wanted and how much the intimate, quiet evening meant to her.
As soon as they entered she dropped her bag on the small table by the door and quickly flipped the lock on the door, making certain to set it to do not disturb. Kristina then grabbed Trent’s arm after he took off his shoes and pulled him to her quickly. She backed him against the wall and pressed her lips to his forcefully. Trent inhaled deeply and returned the kiss with an equal amount of passion. They had been waiting for what seemed like half a lifetime to finally have the chance to be alone together again and Trent was going to take the opportunity to fully consummate their relationship. He shifted their position and backed Kristina into the wall, trailing his hands behind her neck and down her body. He then landed his hands against her well-rounded bottom and gave it a delicate squeeze while moving his lips down her long neck. “Trent…”
Hearing the sound of her sultry voice calling his name was all he needed. He then picked her up and carried her to the bedroom where he wasted no time in stretching her out on their king size bed. She made sounds of encouragement underneath him as he took his time undressing her. Trent knew exactly what she needed. He pressed against her and sucked her bottom lip into her mouth, gently biting it before licking it. “Kristina…don’t you remember? I promised you a surprise.”
“Fuck, Trent. What are you doing?” She gasped below him and dug her fingernails into his back, which caused him to smile at her desire. “Wait here. Don’t move. I’ll be right back.” Trent walked to the side of the room that held a small bureau which he’d already put his clothes in. Of course, Kristina had enough luggage to fill most of their shared closet so Trent resigned himself to the small area. He then raffled through his underwear drawer and picked up Kristina’s surprise and placed it in his back pocket. He shot her a wicked grin when he came back to the bed and saw that she was waiting on him to return with a lustful glimmer in her eye. “I’m glad you decided to get back here. I was getting cold.”
“Well I told you I would be back soon enough.” He laid across her once more and kissed her deeply once again. Before she could respond he pulled away from her lips and Kristina looked at him wide-eyed before she gave him a smile as a reward. “Trent! Wow. You most certainly did have something planned didn’t you?”
“Mhm. I hope you enjoy this.”
“Well let’s find out.”
Trent dangled the shiny metal handcuffs in the air above Kristina and they caught the low light. He just had a hunch that she was the type of woman who would enjoy a little spice in the bedroom and he’d always wanted to try bondage. Who better to experiment with than the woman of his dreams? He leaned forward and kissed her once more before hissing in her ear, “Put your hands behind your back.” She did as instructed and gasped when she felt the cold metal against her warm, smooth skin. With her hands behind her back her mobility was limited and Trent began assaulting her with a barrage of fiery kisses. He covered her in a tapestry of soft licks and nips, making certain to take time to also explore her curves and crevices with his hands and surprisingly delicate fingers. “Fuck, Kristina you’re so beautiful do you know that?”
“Oh Trent. Fuck. You are amazing. Why didn’t we do this years ago?”
“I think we were just waiting for each other to finally realize how awesome we are together.” Kristina involuntarily reached for his body, but given she was constrained by the handcuffs, she found herself at a loss for what to do. “Trent… I want to hold you.”
“That’s not the point now is it? See, that’s how tonight’s going to be different. Now I want you to lay back and relax.”
“What choice do I have?”
“Exactly.”
Trent finally decided to undress completely and he watched as Kristina did take her eyes off of him. He could almost feel her arousal in the air as he let his jeans fall to his ankles. He then lay atop her once again. “Mmm. Trent…you feel so good.”
“You like that,” He cooed in her ear as he dipped his head to her breast and began to trace circles along her nipple in a staccato tempo. “What else do you like? Let’s see, shall we?”
As he moved his head to the other side of her body to repeat the same pattern, there was a loud ringing from the other room. It was Kristina’s phone. “Fuck! Hey Trent… my phone. Sigh. Can you go get it?”
“Kristina! Fuck. I thought we agreed there wouldn’t be any work this weekend?”
“Shit. I bet it’s from a job I forgot I did a bid on. It was a really lucrative offer. Please.” Trent saw the determination on her face and also knew that the mood was ruined for both of them. “Fine,” he said with a huff as he padded naked back into the lounge area and returned with her cell phone. She sat up on the bed and he reached around behind her quickly unlatching her handcuffs and tossing them back in the drawer with a heavy clunk. He then pulled on a pair of sweats he also grabbed from the drawer and suddenly chilled, he also pulled on one of his softest shirts. He watched Kristina check her phone and then do the same. She put some of her everyday lingerie on and then pulled on a pair of grey yoga pants and one of Trent’s
white t-shirts that was oversized on her. “Yeah. I’m sorry Trent. I’m glad that I took this. Listen… this job, I may go ahead and take it even though we’re on vacation.”
“Kristina, why?! I mean, if you need money I’m sure that we can figure something out. So what does this mean? Does this mean you’re just going to up and leave again? Sigh. Fuck. I don’t know why I bother sometimes.”
“Trent. You don’t understand, this is the biggest job I’ve had to date. This is what I want to do with my life baby. You’re always telling me that I should pursue my passions no matter what. Well, those passions include you and this career.”
“Well where the fuck is it? Where this time Kristina? Australia? Beirut? Antarctica?!” Seeing that Trent was visibly upset she slid closer to him on the edge of the bed. She placed her hand on his knee, then threated her fingers through his own. “Trent… I understand why you’re upset. I know that here lately when I take jobs I’ll be gone for months on end, but I’m not going to do that anymore. You’re here. I don’t have a reason to go to any other country and try to start another life. You’re home and that’s the beginning and the end of it.”
“So you’re saying you’re going to take this job do it overnight then come home?”
“Yeah as long as conditions are ideal. You know how that goes sometimes. I don’t intend for anything to be longer than a week though. Besides with the money I stand to make on this one job, I could potentially not have to take any others for I don’t know half a year maybe.”
Trent looked at her seriously and frowned. “You really have thought this out, haven’t you?”
“Yes. If anything I’ve learned to be a terrific businesswoman. I simple made them an offer they couldn’t refuse and it seems like for the services I provide, it’s worth the extra cash.”
“You’re sure about this?”
“Positive. Though I will do one thing.”
“What’s that?”
“I’ll let them know there’s no way I can handle this job until late next week. That will give up a little bit of vacation before it’s back to the grind.” Kristina looked at him once more and his heart melted. He could never tell her no. That was one of the reasons Trent knew that he loved her. “Well thanks for that. Go ahead and email them back.” Kristina leaned over and gave him an excited kiss on the cheek before smiling at him and saying, “Thank you for being so understanding Trent. You just don’t understand this is going to be good for both of us.”
“Well I certainly hope so and this client had better be on the level with you, otherwise I’ll have to get involved personally this time.”
“Aww, that’s sweet Trent, but I think they’ll be okay. I’ve went ahead and notified them I’d start at the end of the next week. Now with that bit of business taken care of what do you want to do?”
“Well, I’d have to say that it’s been a long evening and day, I’m actually kinda tired, and would you mind to just lay with me until I fall asleep?”
“Oh, you big lug…I can’t wait to sleep with you.”
Chapter 4
The following morning, Trent woke up and looked over at Kristina sleeping soundly beside him. He rolled over on one elbow and watched her chest move up and down with her breath. He was pleased that she was actually sleeping peacefully. In their line of work, it wasn’t often that a night of sleep was uninterrupted by either fitful dreams or even some new emergency with a job that came up. He was actually glad to see that Kristina had decided to take her career to the next level. Of course, being raised in a mafia family, she always had protection, but at the same time he could understand why she wanted to strike out on her own and build her own reputation as opposed to having to rely on her father’s connections. Her red hair was splayed out over her pillow and Trent had the impulse to run his fingers through it, to feel its softness between his fingers, but decided against it. After all he didn’t want to wake his sleeping lover. Lover. The word stuck out in Trent’s mind. He hadn’t thought that he would be able to call anyone that ever again. Rachelle was a mistake, but she was the closest thing that he’d ever had to a stable relationship. Then Kristina came back and she changed everything.
Sensing he was awake, he watched her inhale sharply and snort a bit. Then she rolled over to him, wrapped her arms around his shoulders and mumbled, “Trent.” He then watched as her eyelids flutters as if she were going to open them, but she then closed them forcefully once more as she settled into his full embrace her voice trailing off as she fell back to sleep. He smiled contently as he began to rub her back. His hands couldn’t seem to get enough of her smooth skin and he suddenly felt a sense of responsibility. She was so delicate and fragile. Could he protect her from anything in life? Did he want to? He sighed and thought about the implications. It would mean that he would be dedicated to her and her alone even into their old age. If anything he was raised to be a loyal man. He was also raised to be a provider and caretaker. He was the marrying type but was she?
Trent closed his eyes but found it impossible to sleep. He let his hands roam down Kristina’s body and gently massaged her. He knew that she would wake soon, but he decided he wanted to wake her up the best way possible. He began kneading her shoulders and worked he way down to her amazingly firm buttocks. He heard her groan softly and she flung herself away from him, turning to face the opposite wall. He took that opportunity to pull himself into her and spoon her once more. He softly kissed the side of her cheek and moved his mouth down the sides of her neck. He then softly whispered in her ear, “Kristina… hey it’s time to get up don’t you think?”
She murmured something incoherent then suddenly rolled over to face Trent. She opened her eyes and looked at him still groggy. “Mmm. Morning. Before she could protest Trent leaned over and kissed her full on the lips, which she eagerly pulled herself into. “Trent. Why are you awake?”
“Well it’s getting late in the day. I thought that we’d at least see some sights since we’re here.” Kristina traced her index finger along the side of his jaw, and smiled at his enthusiasm. “You know that I’m not a morning person. Also… you need to shave.”
“Really? You wake up with a gorgeous man wrapped around you in bed and that’s your first notion. You tell him to shave?”
“Mhm. I can’t help my critical nature. You’ll learn to love it.”
“Well… I thought that maybe we could do some other things this morning too, since we were rudely interrupted last night by the shackles of your job.”
“Trent. Sigh. What’s gotten into you? Don’t you want to wait?”
“Wait?’
“Kristina we’ve waited years on each other. Why would I want to wait? I love you. In fact I can’t get enough of you. I’m intoxicated by you, that’s enough for me.” She turned and looked at him with sober eyes. Could she trust Trent with all of her heart? Of course she could. He had been so very patient through the years. Even after all of her other relationships, he was the one constant in her life she could count on. Did she dare tell him the truth about all the other flings she had? “Trent… um. Listen there’s something I have to tell you.”
Trent cleared his throat and watched her body language. She pulled the sheet further up her body and he gently asked, “What?”
“Last night—“
“Doesn’t matter. That was last night.”
“Sigh. No, I mean… I have something well, it’s kind of important I want to tell you.”
“Well, okay. Go ahead. I’m listening.”
“Trent…you do know that I’m a virgin right?”
“What? What do you mean? Kristina you’ve been with all sorts of guys. Hell you change boyfriends like purses.”
“Did you just call me a slut?!”
“No… I mean, that’s not what I mean. I mean you’ve been involved with other people. Have you not--?”
Kristina hung her head and her voice grew somewhat softer. “Trent, I’ve been in relationships with people and the last guy I was with the on
e you call the boat guy… well we were on our way there before he decided that it was more important to get his dick sucked by a Hooters’ girl.”
“Wow. Kristina, I’m sorry I didn’t know.”
“Yeah…so that’s also part of why things were awkward last night.”
“Wow. Kristina if I had known things may have been a bit different. Listen I just assumed that you’d already been all the way… well with a bunch of different partners.”
“Thanks.”
“That’s not what I meant. So, what do we do now? I mean, what would you like to do?”
“You’re okay with that? I mean, I’m probably not going to be as good as other people you’ve slept with before.”
“Fuck, Kristina. I don’t care about any of that do you understand? Anyone else I’ve been with doesn’t really matter now anyway. This is between me and you.” He pulled her close and held her tightly before planting another kiss on her lips softly. She acknowledged what he said and ran her hands down his back. She rubbed his taut muscles and felt a surge of heat grow through her once more when she realized just how close he was to her. “Mmm Trent. You feel so good right now.”
“So do you Kristina. I wish you knew just how bad I’m turned on right now, just by being near you. I don’t know how you do it, but you’re the only woman that I can well just look at and feel young again.”
Trent looked at Kristina and she moved her hands down this body. She suddenly landed her hands on his cock and whispered, “Wow. You weren’t kidding.”
