Nobody Can Love You Like Them Roughnecks Do 4

“What are your plans for the rest of the day?” Blaise began preparing tea.
“I’m going out with Herman, and then tomorrow morning I’m having breakfast with Nichole and Ian.”
“Herman? I thought you weren’t talking to him anymore.”
“Right. Well, we texted and cleared things up. I mean, he’s right that we’re not in a relationship, so I don’t have the right to be mad. We’ve only been talking for a hot second.” I chuckled.
“I see. Well, this time you have to make sure that he understands what you want and what you expect from him, Izzy. That way, there won’t be any confusion or misunderstandings. You haven’t had sex, right?”
“No! No, we haven’t. I mean, we would have if he’d had condoms on him, but he didn’t. I told him we had to wait, and I think that made him go get another girl.”
“He was willing to sleep with you raw, not even knowing you from a can of paint?”
“He does know me, he… he just—”
“You just said you’ve only been talking for a hot second. Not to mention, I was there when you guys met. Izzy, if it’s one thing I know, it’s how niggas operate. So if he was that quickly willing to go in with no condom, that means he frequently has sex with no protection.”
But come on, Izzy, my pull-out game has been successful since I started having sex…
His words to me while we were in the back seat circled my mind.
“Maybe he just liked me.”
“No. I don’t care how much a man likes you, he’s not sliding in you raw after a week unless this is something he normally does with women. A man who is usually protecting himself doesn’t just randomly choose not to do so after a week and some change.”
I knew Blaise was right, because Herman didn’t know shit about me. I could have had a disease or gotten pregnant, but none of that seemed to bother him. We hadn’t been talking long enough for him to see me as the one already, so he was clearly a repeat offender of not using condoms.
“I agree. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.”
“No problem. Be careful with him. He seems trifling and nasty.”
I nodded, taking the mug filled with tea that she’d handed me.
That night…
“How long will you be out, Izzy?” My mom peeked into my room, and when I turned to face her, she smiled.
“I’m not sure. It’s a date, but I know if it goes past midnight, I can’t come here. I’ll get a hotel room or stay with Blaise since I’m not talking to Nichole.”
“No, you can come home. It’s the weekend, and I will be awake, catching up on my shows.” She came further into the room to touch my hair. “Why aren’t you talking to Nichole?”
“Because she’s a scrooge, Mama, you know that. She called me a Blaise groupie, and said she and I weren’t really friends.”
“Oh, honey.” My mom hugged me from behind as we looked at one another through the mirror. “That’s normal. Nichole is just jealous that you like Blaise so much, and we know my baby Nichole does not like to feel envious because she thinks she’s everything.
She’s been like that since she was a toddler. If I showed you more attention than her, she would say mean things like she wanted a new mommy instead of admitting that she was just sad that I paid attention to you.”
My mama and I both tittered together.
“I know, but still.”
“Give her a break. She’s pregnant, and she loves you, so she’s jealous. She loves Blaise too, and hearing about you guys being close without her, is hurtful. She’s too prideful to say that though, so she expresses it in her own way.”
I nodded, so my mom gave me a kiss on the cheek and left the bedroom.
I put on some of my perfume, touched my lips up, and then changed purses. As soon as I got into the living room to sit and wait, Herman let me know he was here. I said bye to my mother and hurried out, while making sure to be careful in these heels I was wearing.
“Damn.” Herman climbed out of the driver’s side of his car, to come open my door. He was in basketball shorts, slides, and a t-shirt, while I was in a tight dress. “You look good as hell.”
“Thank… you. Are you gonna change or…?”
“Nah. I guess I forgot to tell you to dress chill, but it’s cool. Something for me to look at.”
“Right.”
I got into the car, and even though we made conversation during the drive, I couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that we looked like a hooker and her customer. Where the hell could we be going to where his attire was appropriate? Burger King? And what the hell would I look like in a burger joint with stilettos on?
We arrived to our destination, which was a beautiful condo in Carson. Okay, maybe he made me a home cooked meal; now this made sense. Suddenly, I felt better.
“Step out, princess.” Herman opened my door.
“Is this your place?”
“Yep,” he answered quickly as we headed to the door.
How the hell could he afford this place with the money he made? His pay per fight wasn’t enough to keep him afloat unless he fought six to seven times a month. And he definitely wasn’t fighting that much.
The place was nicely furnished and smelled fresh inside. I stood there as he shut and locked the door, then he led me to the couch.
“This is a really nice spot, Herman. You rent?”
“Nah, I don’t.” He sat next to me and cut the TV on, getting comfortable. Wait, where was my dinner?
“I’m starving.” I dropped a hint.
“We can order some shit. I get this Chinese food delivered that’s bomb as fuck. You wanna try that? You won’t regret it.”
“You don’t want to go out to dinner?”
“Nah, I’d rather chill, lay up with you.” He rubbed my thigh then kissed me gently.
“Chinese is fine.”
I’d damn near fasted all day for the dinner I thought I’d have, so I went ahead and agreed to the take-out. Shit, I was hungry.
Herman ordered the food, then to my surprise, asked me to go half on the payment. Giving him cash for part of it, I took a deep breath to calm myself down.
You knew he didn’t make a lot going into this, Izzy, so don’t act surprised, I told myself.
By the time the food came, I was relaxed, happy I had something for my stomach as we watched a movie on Hulu. When done, Herman cleaned up our trash rather quickly, then came back to sit down.
“You know, I think you’re so beautiful. When I first saw you, I knew I wanted to make you my girl.”
“Really?” I blushed; I felt it.
“Yeah, really.” He kissed me then sat up straight. “I got you something.” He handed me a gold box, the ones they gave you from the swap meet when you bought jewelry.
Taking the top off, I saw it was a gold necklace with a heart locket attached to it.
“Oh my gosh, Herman. Thank you.” I grabbed his face to kiss him, then he helped me put it on.
“Real gold too, so you can wear it forever.”
Suddenly in the mood, I began massaging his dick through his basketball shorts as we started to tongue kiss. Immediately, he began pushing my dress up before tugging on my panties. We stopped kissing so he could remove them, then he helped me out of my shoes.
“Where are we going?” I asked when he picked me up.
“To the bedroom.”
We kissed until we were in the back room, then he placed me to my feet to remove my dress. I laid back on the big, nice bed, watching him strip down with his fine chocolate ass. He pecked my lips, then went down to suck my nipples hungrily, making me moan before tossing my head back.
“Shit.” I cooed, biting down on my lip when he traveled down to suck on my clit.
He put my legs on his shoulders, and I spread them wider so he could get all the way in there. He was really into it, making it feel so good that I came quicker than I usually did from head. He took me on another ride, making me explode, then he came up to kiss
me.
“Don’t worry. I got a condom.”
He rushed to his gym bag, an odd place to keep them, and then slid it down his hard dick. I slipped under the covers, and then welcomed him into the bed with me. Climbing between my legs, he positioned his dick at my opening and pushed his way in.
“Oh shit.” We grumbled together. He was big, and it felt so good already.
I rubbed down his chest as he began to fuck me, making me drip like a rainstorm.
“You so fucking wet.” He clenched his teeth, eyes closed as he gripped the headboard with one hand. “Oh my… shit.” He panted, humping me faster until his body froze up then trembled violently. “Ah,” he moaned in a high-pitched voice as I stared up at him.
I didn’t climax, unless you counted the head, so I didn’t know what to say. That maybe lasted two minutes max.
I was still silent as Herman collapsed down onto me, running his fingers through my hair and breathing heavily against my neck.
Next time. Next time would be good.
Belly
Now that it was late and the lights were out, I laid down on this hard ass bed, with my phone in hand. I kept the shit hidden in this hole in the wall that my bunk was pushed up against. I kept it shut off as well so it wouldn’t be going off or pinging the towers nearby.
After laying the charm on hoe ass Elise, she brought me some old Samsung. It had the name Galaxy S4 on the back. I wasn’t familiar with androids, but this shit was like a luxury in here.
Turning it on, I went into the recent call log to dial up Blaise. I prayed that she was awake so I could hear her voice. I planned to call her ass up every night, but sometimes I couldn’t pull the shit off. We hadn’t talked in almost all week, so a nigga was like a drug addict in need of a hit.
“Hello?” she answered frantically.
“’Sup. You aight?”
“Yes, I’m fine. I just ran from the bathroom when I heard my phone going off.”
“You ain’t wanna miss talking to yo’ nigga, huh?”
“No.” She giggled. “I knew it was you, too, because no one calls me this late.”
“They better not be.”
“Thank you for the push gifts, baby. They were amazing. I’m not materialistic, but it did make me happy.”
“I know you’re not, and I know the shit did.”
“Why two cars? The Range Rover would’ve been fine alone. Or the Maserati alone.”
“I know, but I wanted you to have some shit to look nice in while with the kids, and then one to look fine as fuck in when you just wanna be out with ya friends and shit.”
She was quiet then replied, “I’m no stranger to nice gifts, baby, but I always feel differently when it comes to you because you put so much thought into them. My exes just threw me expensive things, thinking it made me happy, but you’re different. You have reasoning behind them, and I appreciate it much more. I love you, Cortez.”
“So that means when I get out, I get some head on the ride home, right?”
“Baby, that’s not the right response.”
I could tell she was pouting her perfect lips, making me lick mine at the thought of them.
“I love you too, fine ass.”
“You know you didn’t have to pay me back for the lawyer.”
“Yeah I did. This ain’t got shit to do with you, and you shouldn’t have to pay for it. I love the fact that you did though. Another reason why I go all out for yo’ ass.”
She chuckled softly.
“Well in the future, I want you to remember that I don’t mind writing a check for something like this. We’re family, and I love you.”
“I already know.” I silently prayed this shit would be over with soon, and in the same breath couldn’t wait to get out this bitch to press Ozzy. I gave that nigga an ultimatum, and since he played me, it was over for his ass. “How you been feeling? I’m supposed to be massaging ya fucking feet right now.”
“Ooh, that would feel so good. And besides the fact that I miss you, I’m doing okay, I guess. I’m gonna go to the doctor because my appetite is damn near nonexistent.”
“Why?” I frowned. I ain’t like hearing shit like this over the phone.
“I don’t know, but all I ate today was a bowl of cereal this morning. I make food for Island and breastfeed Cortez, but I’m not hungry.”
“Blaise, baby.” I sat up, rubbing my hand down my face. “Please eat something right now.”
“Okay. When I get off—”
“No. Go down to the kitchen right now with me on the phone and eat something. Have you been able to shop? I’m gonna send Joan over there and you give her a list of shit you want then she’ll get it.”
“Cortez, we have food.”
“Y’all need some more. I’m sure you’ve been too busy, so prepare a list to have to her tomorrow. You understand me, Blaise?”
“Yes,” she replied softly.
I listened to her open the fridge and move stuff around.
Sighing, I said, “Blaise, I love yo’ ass, and I can’t be thinking about you not eating while I’m locked up in this muthafucka. I beg you to try to eat some shit, aight?”
“Okay. I’m making a grilled cheese.”
Her tone was soft and sad, driving me fucking crazy. Ozzy, Tiana, and whomever the fuck else was involved in this shit would pay a hefty fucking price for what I was feeling right now.
The next morning…
I’d just finished brushing my teeth, so now I was back in this box, pondering. I had no jail sentence yet or anything, so I was literally a fucking sitting duck all damn day, waiting. They treated you differently when you had no sentence, so a lot of the shit other niggas got to do, I couldn’t. Them niggas got face-to-face visits, but I was informed that I had to look at my visitor through a fucking glass.
“Hey.” Elise, that guard, walked up, looking at me through the bars. She usually worked the evening shift, so it was weird seeing her ass here this early.
“’Sup.”
“I know you said you wanted to wait until you got released, but I just can’t anymore. I can get you out to a private area if you move fast.” She unlocked the cell and slipped inside.
“Private area for what?”
Usually, I entertained her bullshit and would game her ass up enough to send her bad bodied ass on. But anger had consumed me, and I just wasn’t in the fucking mood to pretend. Not to mention, she was unattractive as a muthafucka, so the sight of her face and that cupid shuffling ass grill irritated me off rip.
“For us to spend some time together.” Elise licked her lips, placing her hand on her hip… or what was supposed to be a hip.
“I don’t wanna spend no fucking time with you.” I laughed, lying back. “Go spend some time with yo’ damn husband.”
“I think you do want to spend some time with me. I’ve been dreaming about sucking your dick. And when I’m with my husband, I imagine that he’s you.” She smiled again, her teeth making me nauseous.
“Aye, get the fuck up out of here. I’m not in the mood, nor do I like the smell of yo’ neck roll sweat permeating the air. You need to start scrubbing that muthafucka. Pushing up on me smelling like cabbage and meat soup.”
I was pissed the fuck off about my girl and her eating, then this hippopotamus ass bitch coming in here begging for some dick. And I knew it was her neck that stunk because it had that signature dirty neck smell of vinegar. Muthafuckas always smelled like that shit when they neglected to hit that neck up in the shower.
“Fine. If you don’t do what I’m asking of you, then I’m going to snatch that phone right back.” She stared down at me, and I shrugged. “I’ll also alert who I need to, that you smuggled a cell phone in here.”
Sitting up slowly, I rose to my feet, making her turn to rush out, but I yanked her ass up by her drunk and dirty ass shirt collar.
“You run yo’ fucking mouth, and I swear to God as soon as I’m up out of this bitch, I’m gon’ wring yo’ funky neck.” D
ropping her down, I added, “Get yo’ lumpy ass up out my muthafuckin’ cell. In here acting like a crack head for dick when you got a husband.” I sat back on my bed.
Running out and slamming my cell closed, she locked it then barked, “I wasn’t begging. I offered your rapist ass some of this good stuff! Bitch!” She ran off when I acted like I was about to get up off this bed.
Dumb ass females.
I was able to get a book from the library yesterday, so I decided to read to pass time. It seemed like about an hour had gone by before someone hit the gate of my cell. Looking over, I saw this white guard, Potter.
“What?” I asked dryly.
“Got a visitor, Khalil. Hurry up.”
I didn’t know who the fuck this was, but I wanted to find the fuck out. Potter put me in cuffs after coming in, then escorted me to the visitation room, but not the one with glass.
“I thought I couldn’t do face to face shit.”
“She says she’s your lawyer.” Potter removed the cuffs then gestured for me to sit down. A few moments later, some white woman with frizzy ass hair switched in.
“Hello, Mr. Khalil. My name is Olive Fortensky.” She shook my hand before sitting down.
“’Sup. My girl hired you, right?”
“She did. Your bail hearing is coming up very soon, and I already have plans for that. I’m very confident that you will make bail. But Mr. Khalil, I wanted to ask you if you know anyone who either doesn’t like you or took a liking to Tiana Strauss?”
“Plenty of muthafuckas don’t like me, and plenty like Tiana. What you trying to say?”
Even though Ozzy had done this shit and set me up, I was no fucking snitch. If this lawyer was as good as Blaise said she was, she should be able to get me up out of this bitch without me having to be a fucking rat. Regardless of whether I told or not, I ain’t rape that bitch and shouldn’t be in jail for the shit.
“Like I explained to Blaise, I believe someone set you up. I mean, it’s quite obvious if what Tiana is saying is true.”
“What the fuck she say?” I squinted.
“That the person made comments pertaining to things only you would know about. Now, she told the police that she gave you her address the night that you took a picture with her in the club. Who was all there with you when this happened?” Olive took the top off of her pen and got ready to write as the guard watched.
