“No, there’s no more waiting for me. I’ve been waiting a lifetime for this.”

“Okay, now how do we do it?”

“First, we share blood,” he said.

She’d never drank blood before. Well, that was not true. She did when she had a busted lip from a rogue basketball on the playground when she was in middle school. It tasted like rust and copper. She wondered if vampire blood tasted the same. He must have sensed her uneasiness.

“Try it,” he said then pressed his index finger against his fangs. Dark red blood bubbled at the tip. He offered it to her.

She put it to her lips and glided her tongue over his finger. Erica wasn’t sure what she was expecting. It was like a cross between cherries and something she couldn’t quite name.

“It’s not so bad,” she said. It was actually pleasant.

When Julius dipped his fangs into his own wrist and offered it to her, she took it without hesitation. She drank until it healed.

“Is that it?” She looked up to him.

He looked at her with a reverence she didn’t expect. “A taste is all we need.”

“Your turn,” she inhaled. The blood in her stomach started to make her insides tingle. Not an unpleasant feeling. Just different.

Julius lifted her chin, then kissed her. “Eighty.”

Then he tilted her head to one side and sunk his fangs into her neck and pulled just a small amount of blood from her. When he finished, he pulled back and left a gentle kiss behind.

  “Eighty-one. I love you.”

  “I love you too.”

Then, she saw them, a swirl of images floated around them all basked in a golden light. She was hallucinating. Julius’s blood was making her hallucinate. Until she realized, those floating images weren’t just pictures. They were things familiar, like her art show and the first time they met. She reached up.

  “Do you see them too?”

  “What are they?”

“My memories,” he smiled and looked up with her.

  “Will we see mine?”

“Eventually,” he turned to face her. He was completely open. Drinking from a vampire was the most intimate experience she’d had by far. It required absolute trust. Because when they did, they opened up their entire soul to you. That’s what she felt, Julius giving his soul to her. She accepted it without question and gave hers over to him too.

“Do you feel that yet?” He asked, his voice not carrying above a whisper. As if in confirmation, a new sensation started to form. It was powerful, much more powerful than she’d ever experienced. It felt like raw electricity flowed through her body, leaving her more enamored with him than she could have dreamed possible. Then it was followed by ecstasy.

If she thought his pleasure venom was potent. It had nothing on the power of his blood. This time she couldn’t tell where the pleasure began and ended. It just was. And it was everywhere he touched and everywhere he didn’t.

  “Now, what do we do?”

“We need to close the bond,” his voice was hoarse.

  “How?”

“We fuck,” the words were raw and throaty. There was nothing gentle about them nor what came next. And Erica didn’t want it to be. There was a burning need inside of her that agreed with him. They needed to fuck. The images dampened down when he pulled at her clothes. In quick order, their clothes became a pool at their feet as she tried to touch every inch of bare skin she could reach. Even touching him was pure bliss.

He flipped her around, bent her over so she was gripping the couch back with her hands.

  “Ready?”

She could only nod as the power of his hips met her from behind, driving him deep inside of her.

Her insides relaxed and she groaned.

“I will never get used to that,” her head lulled when he drove into her again.

“By the gods, I missed this,” his fingers dug into her hips and he pulled her back against him harder.

“Julius,” she moaned when he thrust inside of her over and over. They were never going to last long. Not with the bond heightening everything to the point where it was hard not to see stars. Frick, if he kept it up, she might pass out. “This is amazing.”

His vampire seemed to growl in agreement.

“Tell me your mine,” he demanded, quickening his pace. The world was slipping, she was barely able to hold on.

“I’m yours. Always yours.” She whimpered, reveling in each wave of pleasure that jolted through her when his hips met her ass. A sudden, savage orgasm ripped through her. Her legs shook, her back arched and her body clenched down onto him as he drove into her.

She’d never get used to the blinding pleasure he gave her. But at least she’d have an eternity to try.

“I’m yours.” She panted as another orgasm hit her as he took several last hard strokes before he too went over the edge.

“I love when you say that,” he eased himself out of her and pulled her onto the couch with him.

“S-say it back,” she said between breaths.

  “I’m yours, Erica.”

“Say it again.” She cuddled up to his chest and listened to his erratic breaths settle alongside hers. Julius wrapped his arms around her and kissed the top of her head.

“I’m all yours,” he said. “Forever.”
