Shaking the Throne

by Caroline Angus Baker

So much love and thanks goes to Tracy Borman, whose studies into Thomas Cromwell gave me the chance to write history of the perspective of his desk, rather than the royal characters living the changes of Cromwell’s period. Thanks to her meticulous care to detail, Cromwell’s life is mapped out as much as possible. My extended thanks also goes to Robert Hutchinson, who too has studied Cromwell’s life in detail, collating letters and archives to lay out a perfect timeline of Cromwell’s life.

Two people are owed huge thanks and appreciation as they edited their way through this story – Connie Lee-Love in the United States, for her patient attention to detail, and to Amber Casey in New Zealand, whose careful eye for all my typos and dropped words is a treasure I never wish to let go. I know I have said that all before, but my gratitude cannot be measured.

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

CAROLINE ANGUS BAKER is a New Zealand author. A trained sailmaker, Caroline has gone from long hours behind sewing machines, to competing in national and international sailing regattas. She has cycled down Hawaiian volcanoes, been served dinner by billionaires, bumped into supermodels and movie stars, fumbled to find the right words on Italian live television, walked the red carpet at fashion events, fought off Moroccan muggers, soaked up a Norwegian Christmas, watched whales in Canada, slept on the floor in Dubai, played in the German snow, partied on the Great Barrier Reef, got lost in London, passed out in Thailand and dodged bushfires in Australia.

After a degree in history from Valencia University and a New Zealand Diploma in Business, and thousands of hours studying the Spanish Civil War, plus Spanish and bullfighting history, it became Caroline’s time to turn to fiction, producing multiple books focusing on Spanish history

After three years studying English history, Tudor history and Shakespeare’s histories through King’s College London, the University of Leicester, the University of Southampton and the University of Warwick, Caroline is embarking on multiple trilogies set in the Tudor and Plantagenet eras.

From growing up humble in small town New Zealand to travelling the world, she now lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her four young sons.
