UNCENSORED QUOTES OF THE WEEK
“I’ve always wanted to wear black. I’m kind of like the son of [GH’s] Sonny Corinthos, but with a collar. I used to envy how Maurice [Benard] always got to wear a black suit.”
—DAYS’s Greg Vaughan on playing a priest in DIGEST
Translation: Even God would never forgive Sonny Corinthos.
“Students of the show will say that this is the same Robert — but a little different. And there’s a reason for the difference.”
—Tristan Rogers in DIGEST regarding his upcoming GH stint
Translation 1: Yep, it’s called talented writers.
Translation 2: I buried the Clairol.
“I’m looking at things from a historian’s point of view and saying to Frank [Valentini, GH executive producer], ‘Hey, this little detail isn’t quite right.’ If I don’t do that, I’ll hear it from the fans!”
—Rogers on policing scripts
Translation: If we do get it right, we’ll still hear from the fans!
“Let’s get a six pack and sit on the couch.”
—Y&R’s Ronan to Phyllis on their first public date
Translation: Because I don’t have ‘em!
“I’m back on top now and the view is great.”
—Y&R’s Jack Abbott after nabbing control of Newman Enterprises
Translation: Bottoms get no respect.
“It’s unfair to say that any of the characters needed help. They’d gone in a certain direction and my job as a head writers is to find new directions to take them.”
—Josh Griffith on Y&R’s weak spots after taking over as head writer in a DIGEST cover story
Translation: This show is a mess; thank you, Maria!
"Luke is the voice of the audience!”
—GH head writer Ron Carlivati expounding on the Faison reveal on DIGEST.com
Translation: I don’t think too highly of our audience if they sound like rapist drunks who mow down children. On Twitter, most of them do!
@DanielGoddard lol? RT @JoshuaMorrowYR: I took the [Y&R Personality] quiz [to determine your perfect man] and got Cane....I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit... ;0
—Daniel Goddard responding to Joshua Morrow’s tweet
Translation: You don’t like me; you really don’t like me!
“I took a lot of mannerisms from Ronn Moss.”
—B&B’s Adam Gregory on which actor he’s learned the most from on his set in a DIGEST roundup.
Translation: I’ll be a hair model for the rest of my career.
“I think at some point, there’s got to be a scene between Anna and Sonny, Maurice Benard.”
—Finola Hughes on the co-star she’d like to work with more
Translation: So Anna can throw his manic-depressive ass in jail!
“I’m not retiring.”
—Susan Flannery to DIGEST about leaving B&B
Translation: I’m re-joining DAYS!

VETERAN SOAP WRITER/CREATOR PASSES AWAY
Sad news: Emmy-winning soap scribe Barbara Esensten, who created LOVING spin-off THE CITY with James Harmon Brown and penned GUIDING LIGHT, PORT CHARLES, ONE LIFE TO LIVE, DAYS OF OUR LIVES, DYNASTY and ALL MY CHILDREN, passed away on November 14. Former GL writer Jill Lorie Hurst tweeted, "The wonderful GL headwriter Barbara Esensten died last night. Great boss, great girlfriend. Miss her already."
While I was never a big fan of Esensten’s writing, I have to say she was a smart cookie (and an original feminist back in the day). She also loved the genre and was well intentioned in her professional efforts. She’ll be missed.

This Week’s Hottest News, Gossip, and Reviews!
THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, CTV/CBS — Why Moss Won’t Be Returning! But Will Ridge?
• This just in — UNCENSORED has learned that B&B is casting a new role. Here’s the casting breakdown below:
[LEADING LADY] 22-28 years old. African American - Beautiful Fashion
Model. Sexy. Confident. Goes after what she wants. A man-eater. At least 5’6” tall. Contract Role.
• Sorry Ronn Moss fans: It looks like the bitter actor will not be returning to say goodbye to Stephanie as Ridge. Why? Moss tweeted that no one asked him to come back! Ouch. But this doesn’t mean that Ridge won’t pop back in town to bury his mother because the show could’ve recast the iconic role. But I highly doubt that. I’ve asked around but it looks like Ridge isn’t paying his respects to the love of his life. I can’t wait to see how showrunner Brad Bell explains this.
• Meanwhile, 2012 continues to be a topsy-turvy year for Moss’s gorgeous and talented co-star Katherine Kelly Lang. The superstar is in the process of divorcing her husband Alex D’Andrea. And no, I am not to blame. The couple has been married since 1997 and they share one child. After TMZ.com broke the news, Kelly Lang tweeted, “I thank u all for your inspirational, supportive, positive messages lately. I am making a necessary change in life and am happy! Be alive!”
Later, Lang shared with UNCENSORED, “I needed to do this for a long time now. I am happy. It is still a hard transition.”
Let’s hope 2013 proves to be a much more peaceful and happier time for the star, who has endured a lot of loss this year both on and off screen.
• There are several last airdates for Emmy winner Susan Flannery. The most recent one is from EW.com, which states Stephanie Forrester will last breathe air on Nov. 26! It’s starting to hit me that Flannery is leaving B&B — and I’m super sad at the turn of events but I know Stephanie’s death will provide
the show with a much-needed reboot. Recently, B&B writer Kay Alden weighed in on the defining turning point for the campy sudser when she co-hosted a podcast with Jeanne Cooper. Alden conveyed that she’s excited about the storyline because it’s the first time she has even wrote a final end story for such an iconic character.
DAYS OF OUR LIVES, GLOBAL/NBC — Patrika Darbo Is In The House!
• Is there anything more painful than watching DAYS? If NBC were smart, they’d move DAYS to the 3 P.M. timeslot so it wouldn’t have to compete with the likes of B&B and Y&R.
• Whoohoo: DAYS made its fans jump for joy when SOAP OPERA DIGEST announced that the series was welcoming back Daytime Emmy Award-nominated scene-stealer Patrika Darbo as Chloe’s transient mother, Nancy. The popular actress, last seen in Salem in 2005, will be back to support daughter, Chloe, natch. Since DAYS is so far ahead, look for the actress to first air in 2013. Unfortunately, Kevin Spirtas will not be joining Darbo. Now if DAYS could find a role for Nadia Bjorlin’s real mother, Fary Bjorlin, we’d have a ballgame.
