Her vulnerability called out to him. Like her soul knew he was her mate and reached for his, grabbed on and wasn’t letting go. He was helpless against her. He found joy in being with her and wanted to be near whenever he could. There wasn’t anything he would deny her. She was in this world alone, but not anymore. Now John was her family and he’d not willingly ever leave her side.
He knew he was ready to go that next step with her. He didn’t want to take it too fast and scare her. He was fearful of wrecking what they had. She was someone who understood him. Had patience for the type of work he did and how it would affect their relationship. The cancelled plans, the working late. She had compassion for his work and never responded with frustration when their plans didn’t work out. She was a keeper, and he had no plans of letting her go. Not to mention their sex was fire. Not that it was the only focus of their relationship, and he couldn’t believe he would have this thought out loud, but it was one of the last things he loved about her. It was the extra bonus to their relationship, the cherry on top and when he imagined it, it was sitting right on top of her spread legs where he liked to add the whip cream.
He finished getting ready and drove over to Samantha’s house. He was feeling good after his workout and eliminating some of the stress and tension from his body that he had pent up all week. Now he was only feeling excited on how his night would go.
He pulled up to her house and walked up to the door, and she swung open the door before he even had the chance to ring the doorbell. Jumping into his arms and wrapping her legs around him, she greeted him with a wide smile, “Hello handsome, I’ve been waiting for you.” As she purred into his ear. Then flicked her tongue against his ear lobe, eliciting a low growl from him.
He carried her into the house, and kicked the door shut. He then turned her around so her back was pressed up against the door while he locked the door shut.
She grinded herself against him like she was in heat, wanting him to take care of her.
He whispered in her ear, “Tell me, are you already wet for me?”
Her response was a moan as she continued to try and rub herself further on him. He held her hips still. “Oh no you don’t, I’ll take care of you baby, don’t worry.”
He took his hand and slipped it underneath her dress, rubbing her through her panties. Feeling how damp and hot she already was. His dick jumped at feeling how wet she already was for him.
He slid his fingers through her panties while grabbing her mouth and forcing his tongue in and kissing her with the passion and fire he had to give her. There was nothing gentle about the moment. He could smell her arousal and it was egging him on. He was so close to already exploding without having touched her yet.
He took her back to her bedroom and laid her on the bed where he spent the next hour devouring her.
They got up afterwards and cleaned up. Then they got ready to head to dinner. He looked over with a twinkle in his eye, “Thank you for being the best appetizer on the menu tonight. I definitely want to come back here and have you for dessert.”
Samantha smiled at him and had a warm laughter. She reached up and kissed him on his cheek and embraced him in her arms. He responded by wrapping his arms around her and setting his cheek on top her head. There was nothing more enjoyable than being wrapped in his arms, while he held her tight. To her it was the best feeling in the world. She always felt safe and secure while in his arms. Like the world was held at bay and nothing could get to her there. There was no pain, no grief, or nothing to fear when she was in his arms.
They went to one of their favorite seafood restaurants downtown. As they were being seated, he pulled out her chair and kissed her forehead as she sat down. Once he was seated, he grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze. He looked into her sparkly blue eyes while she held his gaze. He felt that dang thump in his chest get louder by looking at her. She did that to him, made his heart beat faster and louder. She made him want to be a better man and to live up to what he knew she deserved. He would too because she deserved the best of him.
The waitress then came by and took their order. He looked up and caught Samantha looking at him with a warm smile. “What’s up beautiful?”
“Oh nothing, wondering how I got so lucky to be here with you. Feeling happy right now. Could be that appetizer we had before coming.” She smirked as she winked at him.
“Oh baby, there’s more of that once we get back.”
He took a drink of his wine, then took her hand in his. He always liked to touch her when he was near her. She was like a drug that called to him, saying take one more hit. “I was hoping once things die down, I’d like to take you on vacation before the school year starts back up. I was planning to take two weeks off after we closed this case. I’d like to take you to meet my family if you are comfortable with that? Then afterwards go somewhere fun and exciting. What do you think?” He sat nervously waiting for her reply. He didn’t want to rush their relationship or take it too fast then what she was willing to give. He had doubts that crept in. They’d been dating five months, it’s not too soon to go away on a trip is it? Is it too soon to introduce her to the family? He didn’t know the timeline he had to adhere to. Was there a set schedule of things that happened in relationships? He’d never been in one, so he hoped he wasn’t screwing it up. Samantha, he knew was the one for him. There was no more searching that he needed to do.
Samantha had a beautiful smile with a twinkle in her eye, “Oh my god, yes! That will be amazing John, to go on vacation with you. Also, I’d love to meet your family. I know how important they are to you. That sounds like fun. Now I’m going to be excited researching where we should go! What do you think about cruises? Well, we may not have enough time to plan that one since it depends on when the case wraps up. I’ll figure something out, don’t you worry we will have a blast.”
He was warmed by her excitement of taking a vacation together and his request that she meet his family. He knew if it were the other way around, he would be a nervous wreck. Sadness overtook him for a few minutes when he thought about never having that opportunity to meet her parents since Samantha’s parents passed away in a car accident when she was in college. He knew she had extended family and he hoped he got to meet them one day. He was still sad for her since he knew how much her mom and dad meant to her. They were a close-knit family, and it completely shattered her to lose them.
“Wherever you want to go Samantha, will be great. If you are there with me, it will be the best damn vacation of my life. I want to get away and take a breather with only you and me. You’re my second wind, Samantha. No interruptions, no cases, no projects, just you and me.” He took a gulp of breath, “I want to take our relationship to the next level, Sam. I know what I have in you, and I want to let you know how cherished you are to me.”
Samantha had tears glistening in her eyes, “You mean the world to me John, and I’m excited that we’ll be going away. I feel connected to you like I’ve never experienced with anyone else. You’re it for me John, whether you like it or not.” She joked and winked at him.
“Are you sure, because I don’t mind tying you down, to be sure you can’t get away.”
“Well just to be sure, maybe you should tonight, ya know, to be sure.”
John groaned at the image of Samantha laid out before him, tied to the bedpost, ready and willing for him. He was an adventurous guy, so that was something he could participate in. He loved that Samantha was willing to be adventurous too. He wasn’t by any means a Dom, but he liked to get lost in the moment and go where it took them. Not having to worry about whether someone would be open to explore their sexuality and what they enjoyed, or that he would make someone feel uncomfortable. Him and Samantha had been open and flowed in the bedroom, there was no hesitation about anything. This made him feel connected to her even further that he got to enjoy that part of her. Her quiet side, when she was feeling naughty, her wild and free side, or when she just wanted to make love to him. She was open with wha
t she wanted, and he was only happy to serve her.
He looked at her with fire in his eyes, “Oh sweetie, you are definitely not going to be able to move tonight.”
Samantha knew she was playing with fire. The look in his eyes, while replying to the suggestion he tie her up. She thought she might have orgasmed while sitting there under his gaze. She found herself more open to trying things with John. Knowing she was safe in his arms and was free to express her wants and desires or anything she was curious about, he would give her all that he had. That was a turn on to be that open with someone, to know they were safe. Her excitement she felt now was due to how he would act on her request tonight. She knew she would find herself tied up and under the control of his hands and tongue on her body. Her stomach tightened at the idea. As she tried to squeeze her legs together to stop the growing desire.
“Well lets hurry up and eat shall we?” Samantha said as she dug in.
They both were eager now to finish their meal and head home. The heat was getting ready to turn up and they both couldn’t wait to end part one of their date and get to the evening dessert.
Samantha snuck glances at John while they ate, her heart full by the impromptu date and that he chose to spend his free time with her. Knowing the time off wasn’t scheduled, but the first thing he did once he knew he had free time was call her. She knew things were going well with them. She hoped him asking her to go on vacation meant they were headed to a more serious relationship. She had to remind herself not to jump headfirst, but to enjoy the time and the buildup of their relationship. However, when you know you found your person it’s hard not to want the proposal right then, to be done with it.
She smiled as thoughts were running through her head on where they should go on vacation. Their first adventure together, she would make sure it was memorable and would plan it to perfection for them.
Once they finished eating, John paid their bill. He stood and went around to where she sat and helped scoot her chair out and took her hand while she stood up. Then placed his hand on her back and took a quick moment to squeeze her ass and a quick kiss to her forehead. Then escorted her to his car.
Once they got back to Samantha’s house, John went and sat on the couch while she went and got them both a glass of wine. She handed John his glass then curled up into his large frame. He sat with her in his arms and enjoyed the moment of peace. Just him and Samantha. She was his peace. They had a great dinner, he got the nerve to finally have a serious relationship talk with her. Now they sat in each other’s arms enjoying a glass of wine while relaxing in the silence of the night. He sat with his arm around her, caressing her arm. He wished this moment could last forever. With her in this moment, he had no stress or worry. She brought serenity to him.
Once they finished their glass of wine, he took her hand and whispered in her ear, “Let’s go jump in the shower really quick. I want to get you clean so I can dirty you up again. I have a promise to keep of not letting you get away. I fully plan on upholding my promise.” He then moved his hand to graze over her breast, finding her nipple to be tightly peaked, begging him to latch on to it. He growled to himself, wanting to throw her down now. However, he would need to be patient as he had many plans for her tonight.
Chapter 27
Wednesday
James woke up with the sound of the alarm he set to wake him up before Tammy. He was sleeping in her guest room so she wouldn’t be alone. He wanted to wake up and make her breakfast before she got up. The last few days had been taking a toll on her with the killer on the loose and having set his sights on Tammy. She was one of his best friends and along with being his partner. He wanted to try and make her day start with a smile. There was no way he would allow anyone to get to her, he thought with a growl. He’d kill whoever first before they had an opportunity to lay one finger on her. Not on his watch.
He got up slowly and went to the guest bathroom and got in the shower. The warm water felt good on his tense muscles. He slowly felt the water relaxing his shoulders, where he wanted to enjoy the warmth and relaxation, he instead hurried up and got out so he would make sure he had enough time.
He made his way to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator to see what she had in there. It was scarce, like all their kitchens, never really being home much. He did find some eggs, cheese, and some meat and decided he would make some omelets and started brewing the coffee.
He knew her, and coffee would be the first thing she would look for as soon as he presented her with breakfast. He made quick work of making their breakfast and then set everything up on plates and made them each a cup of coffee and set it at her kitchen table.
He walked back towards her bedroom and lightly knocked on her door to try and wake her up. He thought he heard a groan and something mumbled. Knowing that she did somewhat respond, he opened the door and peeked his head through it. He called out to her, “Tammy, it’s time to get up, rise and shine, a new day awaits us.”
He was met with a pillow flying towards his head. He quickly closed the door, using it as his shield as he chuckled at her grumpiness first thing in the morning. He knew he had to say the magic words, or she wouldn’t get out of bed. He knew he woke her up before her alarm went off, so there would be hell to pay for those beloved minutes he stole from her.
“I have coffee poured for you and your breakfast is all set up waiting on you. Don’t be too long or the food and COFFEE will get cold.” He had to make sure he was as dramatic as possible about her coffee, maybe that would entice her to get up quicker if her coffee would ruin while it waited on her.
She responded with a gruffy tone, “Fine, fine, I’m coming, but I don’t have to like it.”
He closed the door, giving her privacy while she got out of bed and got ready to come out. He shook his head with laughter as he made his way back to the kitchen.
Tammy arrived in the kitchen two minutes later with a tank top and sleep shorts on with a robe slightly open. Her hair having the fly aways running loose and the half in half out ponytail she put it in before bed.
She felt a little sluggish from the three glasses of wine she had last night. She wasn’t trying to overdo it on a weeknight in the middle of a case, but enough to relax her and take the edge of tension off. She immediately after sitting down, grabbed her coffee mug and inhaled her first sip. She let out a moan after the first taste.
James sat watching her, thinking even with waking up and being a mess with her bed head and teeth not brushed and sleepiness still in her eyes, she was still so beautiful. The pleasure he saw as he heard her moan with her first sip of coffee, went straight to his dick. He inconspicuously tried to adjust himself. He couldn’t help it, he was still a man and sometimes his dick had a mind of its own.
He didn’t know why he tempted the gods and thought it would be funny to antagonize her a little this morning. He loved getting her riled up sometimes. He made sure to add all the sweetness in his voice as he greeted her, “Well good morning sunshine, how did you sleep?”
She mumbled to herself, “It’s a felony to murder people because their crime is too much pep in the morning. You wouldn’t look good in Orange Tammy. Just ignore it, it will go away.” He heard her response and tried not to laugh out loud.
She looked at him squinting thinking, Why in the hell is he so peppy first thing in the morning? Then she looked at him warily thinking, Maybe he is a drug user and took speed or something. There is no damn way someone is naturally so enthusiastic this dang early.
She grunted out, “Thank you James for coffee and breakfast this morning. You didn’t have to go out of your way to make me breakfast, but I do appreciate it. However, more appreciation would be given if we can have quiet time while we drink our cup of coffee. There is a new rule that there is no talking in the house until one enjoys her first cup.”
“As you wish my lady.” John winked at her but held his laughter back. His enjoyment was seen from his eyes as they danced while he watched her sipping her coffee. Then t
aking bites of her omelet in between her coffee.
They sat at the table quietly while they ate their breakfast and drank their coffee. When they were done, Tammy stood up and yawned, “Thank you, James. I needed that. That was very sweet of you to play with fire first thing in the morning, just to make me breakfast.” She said with a small smile. “Also, thank you for staying with me the last couple of days, so I wouldn't be alone. I appreciate you.”
“Now I’ll go get ready, so I don’t make us both late for work.” She then shuffled her way back to her room.
James heard the shower turn on and sat back on the kitchen chair with a big smile. That was what he was hoping for, her to be in a relaxed state while they began the day. He knew once the day got started that feeling would not last. However, if he could make at least the beginning of the day start out good, he would do that for her.
The team arrived at the office by 7:30 a.m. They were a little early so they could check in and be all settled before the meeting began at 8:00 a.m. John sat with excited energy, wanting the meeting to start already so he could learn what the analysis of the footage was.
As they all gathered around, Eric walked in. He looked over to Derrick and Emily. “Emily, I received your text this morning that you wanted to talk before our official meeting, what’s up?”
“I had a dream last night that I wanted to discuss with everyone. It was about you Tammy, but it was connected to the killer’s energy. You were in the backseat of his vehicle. You weren’t there under duress but at your own will. You and the killer were having a conversation. The killer then dropped you off at your house. I don’t know the timeframe of when it happened. Given what we know, it may be how the killer knew where you lived. However, it doesn’t make sense how he knew you are connected to this case.”
