Pushing Jason forward, Lucas twined their fingers. He lifted his lips from Jason’s and gestured toward the house. Jason nodded.
They walked in silence along the path. The midday sun beat down on them.
“You know…” Lucas started.
“What?” Jason added a little speed to his step, anxious to get Lucas inside as fast as he could.
“If we pack up tomorrow, we could make it to Oklahoma in time for the rodeo this weekend. Earn some points for this season.”
Jason stopped and faced Lucas. “What would we want to do that for?”
Lucas shrugged and gave a half smile. “The fun of it. See if we still got it. I wouldn’t mind having another title under our belts.”
Jason shook his head. “No. One title’s enough. More than I needed, really. How about we kick back and enjoy sleeping in our own bed now?”
“All right. As long as we aren’t doing too much sleeping.” Lucas took off jogging.
Jason smiled as he admired the backside of the man he called his. Life was good.
