Epilogue
A year later.
Naff pulled up the carpet on the third floor. The elevator dinged and he didn’t look up, but when he smelled the lolly-water and a rush of lust, he knew who it was. Hiding his grin, he kept working with his back to his mate.
Cool hands slid up his back and he felt her sweet kiss. Rocking back, he turned and gave her his mouth. It was deep and passionate, but they didn’t go that far.
After the kiss, Adya stepped back and rubbed her swollen belly. In her hand was a sheet of paper. Her happiness was now so constant that he didn’t recognize a different kind of influx of happiness until right then.
“Whaddya got there, Steps?”
She wiggled her shoulders. “Numbers from the last quarter.”
“I’m assuming from the shoulder dance it’s good?”
Turning it around she handed it to him. He took the paper with his gloved hand that left dark black smudges on the page. Finding the number above the double underline he stilled. “Are these true?”
“Yep,” she said with a little more than confidence.
He handed it back and said, “That’s all you, you know that, right?”
She snorted. “Uh, no it’s not. Once you started fixing everything not only do the tenants love it, but they spread the word. We are at one hundred percent occupancy!”
She squealed, and he smiled. Damn, his mate was adorable.
When they bought the place, they were at forty percent occupancy and bleeding money. She kissed him again and then said, “Tonight, we are going to celebrate.”
Eyeing her belly, he didn’t think so. His mate couldn’t keep her eyes open past seven at night.

Later that night, they didn’t exactly celebrate, but they did welcome a daughter into their life. And with Adya’s consent, he named her Lolly.
