His Rebellious Omega (The Royal Omegas Book 3)

“My heart.”
“Your beautiful… vibrant… rebellious little heart.”
“It’s yours,” she confessed, her lips crashing into mine as we moved.
We broke apart, both gasping for air.
“Now tell me, mate. Do you think I will ever give up what is mine?” I rasped. “What I protected with my life? The very thing that makes me whole? Do you?”
“No,” she said, shattering apart on my cock, squeezing it so perfectly.
“Never.” I roared as my knot swelled inside my omega, and our bond became complete.
Chapter Twenty Four
Charolet
Cassian was more than an alpha. The man was truly magic.
Three days he spent with me in that dank cell, riding the waves of my heat. Claiming every inch of me. Making me his. But still, when our time together came to a close and he had to leave, I wasn’t sure that he’d make good on his promise to return. Not because I couldn’t trust him. I knew if it was up to him, I’d be free. We’d be like Tavia and Dagger, making a difference for the omegas, but our work would be with the omegas we freed from the keep.
He knew I wanted to make a difference. Zelene and Tavia had made it look so easy to put it into motion. We’d dreamed of our freedom for so long but we never stopped to consider what the change would mean to those around us. Just because we were more than ready for revolution didn’t mean our world was ready to accommodate us.
But someday, they would be. When I got out of here, I’d make sure I was the last omega used as an example. I’d have to tone down my methods, of course. That would be the hardest part. We could do this.
Even in this dark dungeon, I had a home.
I’d been so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t hear anyone approach until the door creaked open. Cassian had more than fucked my heat out of me so I felt a little safer down here. There had been no secret who’d come to my rescue. I made sure every prisoner knew the alpha was my mate.
I knew it was Cassian from his shadow. Those broad shoulders, that confident stance. If that hadn’t been enough, his scent would’ve sealed the deal. He’d left me coated in it after he left and all I had to do to remember my time with him was breathe.
I wondered if he could tell how happy I was to see him even in the darkness. His presence was enough to set me on fire. “Mister alpha, sir.”
He chuckled low as he strode across the cell and swept me into his arms. It felt so good to simply have him hold me. Not because he had to get my heat under control, not because he had to keep me safe from crazy chemical drunk omegas, just because he wanted to.
Tipping my chin up, he greeted me with a deep, hungry kiss. I clung to his shoulders as he ran his other hand up and down my back, drawing me even closer to him.
He pulled away, just a little bit, but kept me in his arms. I hated that the shadows obscured his face. But until my sentence was up, this was all I was going to get of him. Just these little slivers. I’d finally learned to be happy for what I had.
“Tensions have cooled a bit since our return to Luxoria, and I was able to speak to His Majesty in regards to your sentence,” he said, his voice still gravelly after the kiss. “And he agrees with me that the rest of your time would best be served under close surveillance at my outpost in the West.”
I gasped. “You got me out of here?” It was almost too good to be true.
“You’re not free. Not yet.” All alpha in that tone. Like he knew he could get me to fall into line. Well, as much as possible for me. I’d never stop testing the limits. But now I’d be more aware of them before they hit me in the face. “After the success of a similar arrangement with Evander and Rielle—”
“How is Rielle?” My heart was pounding. I’d been so afraid for my friend. Scared that she’d been thrown down here and forgotten when she needed to heal. I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if that was the case.
“Better.” The word was cautious. “There are some lingering effects from the chemicals, but Evander has a medical background, so we are confident she’s in good hands.”
The corner of my lip curled up into a smile. “I certainly hope so.”
“His Majesty does want all of you to thrive, even if you don’t see eye to eye on how he plans to get there,” Cassian said. “A united Luxoria is a strong Luxoria. We can’t keep fighting amongst ourselves. We’ll lose everything.”
I nudged against him. His body had hardened. Cassian cared about his city so much, and he’d put everything on the line to help me. Someday, I’d be able to make that up to him. I didn’t know how yet. Maybe it would be as simple as being the mate this man deserved.
“So, you take me to your outpost and I serve hard time there.” I tried to suppress my smile, but it was impossible. For the first time in a long time, I had hope. Even more so than when Zelene captured the attention of the king and invited us to be a part of her court. With this powerful wolf by my side, I could do anything. I’d always been strong. Had to be. But it didn’t mean I got anything done. “What happens after that?”
He tightened his grip on me. “Barring any setbacks, I’d like to invite you to stay with me. I have quarters at the castle, as well as the outpost. I think you’ll find both to your liking.”
“So all I have to do is stay in line and I get rewarded with a hot wolf in my bed every day for the rest of my life?”
“Think you can handle that, my little rebel?”
“I’m sure as hell going to try.”
“I brought you clothes. We can go as soon as you’re dressed.”
It was only then I realized he had a bag looped over his arm. I took it from him and grinned when I saw what was inside.
“A military uniform?”
“I thought it was appropriate. No one fights harder for the wellbeing of Luxoria than you do.”
This time, it didn’t bother me to slip on the uniform that Tavia had become so fond of. It didn’t feel like I was being mocked anymore. Now it felt like I had control. Like my ideas were respected.
Cassian and I walked out of the dungeon hand in hand. I had to shield my eyes from the sunshine. I’d lost track of how long I’d been down there, and it was a shock.
“Do you want to drive?” he asked, nodding at the truck sitting in the castle yard.
“You trust me not to start another revolution?”
“I never know what will happen with you. That’s what makes life with you so exciting.”
My alpha thought I was exciting. I climbed into the driver's seat and waited for him to enter the code.
He was even more beautiful than I remembered him, the light streak in his hair shining in the sunlight as he buckled himself in. The truck bucked forward, as I remembered my lesson from what seemed like another lifetime. He guided me to the outpost, waving at the guards as they gaped at our arrangement.
Cassian wasn’t afraid to make a statement, either.
The outpost felt like home. Tension left my body when I entered. I turned to him, and he’d anticipated my move, catching me in a kiss. He went deep, claiming me as I bent backward. But my wolf would follow me anywhere.
“The night I brought you here—”
“My first house arrest?” I grinned.
“Yes, my little rebel. This time I intend for you to learn your lesson.” His gaze was smoldering. I pressed into him, pushing my hips against his hard cock, just to see that muscle tick in his jaw while he tried to hold it together around me. “It took everything I had not to bring you to my bed that night. Claim you right then and there before you went into heat. But you weren’t ready yet.”
I leaned in. “Can I tell you a little secret?”
“You can tell me anything, Charolet.”
I melted. “I think you could’ve convinced me.”
He shook his head. “No. Even if I did claim your body, your mind and heart were set on revolution. I want your wolf to always run free. So I waited. I’d hoped to get you back here before your heat so I didn’t ha
ve to take you on the floor of some horrible clinic… But you’re ready now.”
“I’m so ready.”
With that, he led me to the bedroom. The night I was here, I wondered what this very moment would be like. The room had a big bed in the center of it. A soft plaid bedspread covered it, and more pillows than I could count waited for us. Pillows were a luxury item in the Badlands. The bed had a massive slatted wooden headboard. I had some ideas for that thing. But today, I’d surrender control and see what life could be like with my alpha.
Wordlessly, he stripped the uniform away from my body. The alpha took his time, admiring my body in the sunshine that flooded in through the windows. I was always thin, and the dungeon hadn’t done me any favors, but Cassian made me feel like I was in the ballroom in one of those gorgeous jeweled gowns the alphas loved so much. His gaze was filled with admiration, and adoration, and something much more primal than that.
Need.
He positioned my hips onto the mattress and spread my thighs open. I was already throbbing with my own need, so ready for him.
He drank me in. My nipples puckered under his gaze when I slid my hand down my stomach and cupped my sex, rubbing my swollen clit in anticipation of what was coming next.
Cassian unbuttoned his jacket, each move so maddeningly slow, as he never took his gaze away from my hand. I was pumping my fingers inside myself, bringing myself to the brink.
The pants came off much faster as he stalked to the bed, pushing me back, opening my legs even wider.
He grasped his enormous cock, giving it a few rough pumps before driving it inside me. I gasped from the force of it, but welcomed my alpha home.
Climbing up my body, he gave me another one of those kisses that would make me do anything before he started thrusting. I wished I could be inside him too. I dug my fingers into his shoulders, running them down his back. He threw his head back and hissed, and I realized I’d drawn blood.
His cock swelled and he stilled inside me, knotting me again.
“Mine,” he grunted as his come sprayed inside me.
“Yours,” I said. “Forever yours.”
