“Fuck yeah.” He opens his eyes. “I love you.” His tenderness pours out of him.

“Me too.” I pull his face to mine, my feet lifting up on my toes. “But you’re overdressed,” I say against his lips.

“You want me naked?” Finn takes a step back, quirking an eyebrow.

I nod, licking my lips. He lifts his t-shirt over his head, slowly dropping it to the floor. I stand before him, mesmerized by the muscles on his body, watching them flex as his fingers finish the work I started on his jeans, and they drop to the floor.

“Commando?” I comment. My eyes widen, and I take my bottom lip between my teeth as I admire his naked body.

“Yeah, babe.” Finn grabs hold of his cock, stroking it a few times, and my entire body heats, and my breathing quickens. I keep my eyes on him, taking a few steps forward and replacing his hand with mine.

Our eyes lock, and Finn’s lips fall open as he takes a sharp inhale. After a few seconds, his hands are on my body, fingers tweaking my nipples, fingers brushing against my core. He’s igniting my body with a passionate fire.

I drop to my knees in front of him, and Finn drops his head to his chest on a long moan. I stroke his cock a few times before I run my tongue along the underside of his shaft.

“Abbie,” he whispers my name. His hands go to my head, tangling his fingers in my hair as he tries to gain control of the situation.

  “Nuh-uh,” I shake my head.

Teasingly slow, I wrap my lips around the tip of his dick, sucking. Finn whimpers, his body tensing. I smile up at him and wink. I stroke his length again, licking the tip. Without warning, I put him in my mouth, sucking and licking as I take almost his entire length in my mouth.

“Fuck,” Finn releases a guttural growl. His fingers curl around my head, pressing me to him.

I take my time with him, moving his length in and out of my mouth, hollowing my cheeks to create more friction. When his knees buckle, I pick up speed, bringing him to the back of my throat.

“Holy shit… Abbie…” Finn mumbles and moans, his breathing becoming more ragged as I work his body. I bring a hand to his balls, fondling him gently as I use my tongue and mouth to bring him pleasure.

“Stop. Stop,” Finn demands, pulling me up by my underarms. “Two more seconds, and you’ll have me coming.

“But—” I go to argue, but Finn lifts me over his shoulder, carrying me back to his room. “Hey!” I slap his butt, and in return, he bites the side of mine. I yelp and then gasp when one of his hands runs along the length of my pussy.

“You’re dripping wet.” The huskiness in Finn’s voice makes me wetter. His desire-laden words do something to me.

Back in his room, he drops me on the bed with a small bounce. “You’re mine now.” He crawls over my body, his fingers teasing my pussy. I shiver as he thrusts a finger into me, and his thumb rubs circles over my clit at the same time. My body heats. My heart slams in my chest.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be inside of you shortly,” Finn says, reading my mind.

He reaches over for a condom in his nightstand, never removing his hand from my core. I thrash and clench around his fingers when he moves a second finger inside of me.

  “Finn…” I cry out.

“I love it when you scream my name.” He pinches my nipple. “Say it again.”

“Finn…” I tighten my jaw, needing him to stop teasing me.

He chuckles and removes his hand. He surprises me by brushing his fingers across my lips as if painting them with my desire. My tongue peeks out to lick them, tasting myself. Finn’s eyes darken.

“You like that, huh? Too bad, because it’s all mine.” He sucks his fingers, and my eyes watch him. I can’t take it anymore. Everything he does strikes me with pleasure like a match, igniting fire and burning fast. “You’re my favorite flavor, Abbie.”

A small whimper sounds from me. Finn rips the foil packet and rolls the condom on.

“I’m going to make love to you, show you how you make me feel.” He positions himself over me. “So damn good,” he grunts as he pushes into me, inch by teasing inch.

I wrap my legs around him, urging him into me faster. “You…” I gasp when he reaches the hilt. “Feel so good.”

“I love you.” He brushes the stubborn strands of hair from my face and kisses me with love and passion. This intimate moment sweeping us away into our own bubble as we move together, both of us pouring every emotion into this experience. His fingers lace with mine over my head.

It feels like the first time with Finn again, and in a way, it is. This is us committing to each other and ourselves, not just chasing pleasure but demonstrating love and care.

I arch my back as he thrusts into me, moving my hips in rhythm with his. Finn hits every nerve-ending that sparks this sensation in me… a feeling of… it’s so good. I moan, my mouth opening as silent cries escape me. Finn kisses me, uniting us in all ways, as my orgasm washes over me. My body tenses, and my core pulses around Finn.

I hold on to him, riding the crashing waves as he continues to thrust in and out of me, until he stills, his own climax hitting him.

My heartbeat echoes in my ears as my heavy breathing fills the room. Finn’s chest matches mine as he catches his breath. Our sweaty bodies still merged as one.

Finn smiles and brushes my cheek with his rough hands. I love the feel of him touching any part of me, his manly touch gentle, and the contradiction makes me smile.

“We’re doing that again soon,” Finn breaks the silence, and I giggle.

“You need to be up and at work in a few hours.”

“It’ll be worth it.” He touches his lips to mine.

After we each go to the bathroom, I lie in bed, scooting into Finn’s open arms. He kisses my forehead as I shift and get closer.

“Maybe tomorrow,” I murmur against his chest. Finn runs a hand up and down my back as I yawn. “Yeah, tomorrow,” I repeat, blinking my eyes closed. “I love you, Finn,” I mumble, my body growing heavy.

“Goodnight, Abbie,” Finn says, holding me tighter. There’s no place I’d rather be than right here, in Finn’s arms, in his bed, in his life. The odds may be against us, but we’re determined to fight them.

  Finn

I look at Abbie standing in my room, freshly showered, and in her cotton underwear. I love her simplicity, her true-to-self approach, and confidence, even if she’s oblivious to it. She doesn’t throw on expensive lingerie to try to impress or seduce me. She moves around with ease in whatever she’s wearing. That’s not to say this past week she hasn’t given me a peek at some of her sexier sets, and well, let’s just say I took full advantage of it.

I can’t believe I almost lost this. I wouldn’t have survived the heartbreak had we not worked things out. Walking away from Abbie was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I was so angry—at her, myself, the people talking shit. I was a mess, barely sleeping, working longer hours than necessary, and taking it out on my family. I thank my lucky stars that we were able to work through it.

Abbie’s my number one, and I couldn’t care less who approved. I love her so damn much, and I won’t let anything come between us again.

“I know it’s been fun keeping me here most of the week, but I’m running out of clothes.” Abbie combs her fingers through her hair. I used the excuse of binge-watching Harry Potter for her to sleepover every night since Monday. We have a couple more to go, but tonight we’re heading out, and tomorrow is the Labor Day Festival.

“And the problem with that is?” She turns to look at me, eyeing my bare chest.

I smirk and lift my eyebrows. She sighs and shakes her head. “We’re going out, and I don’t know what to wear.” She drops her hands on her side and glares at me. She can’t fool me, though, her smile is fighting to come out. She’s enjoyed staying here.

I walk to her neatly folded clothes on the chair in my room and pick an outfit. I’m going to make more space for her in my home. She deserves more than folded clothes
on a chair. “Wear this.” I pull out her jeans and a sweater.

“Oh, good choice.” She leans in and kisses me. I grab her ass and squeeze before slapping it.

“Get dressed before we stay in.”

I have a night of miniature golf and arcade games planned, as much as I’d like to keep her in my bed.

“On it!” she exclaims, stepping into her jeans.

I chuckle and put on my plaid shirt, doing up the buttons. I roll up the sleeves, but Abbie saunters to me and takes over, helping me.

“Thanks, babe.” I kiss her and grab my leather jacket. “Now, let’s go.”

“Almost done.” She sits on the edge of the bed and slips on her booties. “Okay, ready.” She spins around. “How do I look?”

“Gorgeous.” I reach for her and pull her to my side. Abbie giggles and kisses my cheek.

“Come on, Mr. Cowboy.” She winks and slings her purse on her shoulder. When she told me she sent me a message on Perfect Match, I went into my inbox and read what she wrote. It made my heart clench, knowing she was feeling so insecure. I never want her to feel as if she’s not enough. She’s more than enough, she’s perfect. I’m going to work each day in making her see herself the way I do.

I hold Abbie’s hand as I drive to the miniature golf course in the town over.

“We’re meeting everyone tomorrow in front of the hay maze,” Abbie says.

  “Sounds good. At what time?”

  “Noon, after church.”

“So, we’ll have the morning to ourselves.” I waggle my eyebrows.

Abbie chuckles. “You always have me to yourself in the mornings. At least this week, you have.”

“And I plan to make that permanent.” Her nose scrunches up in the most adorable way.

There’s no way in hell she’s going to keep living in my house and paying me rent, especially in the house I don’t live in. I need her to move to my place, live together for real. These past few months that we’ve been together have proven to be the best in my life.

She insisted on paying this month’s rent on Tuesday, and I argued that she shouldn’t. This is no longer a tenant and landlord relationship. Finally, I took the check, voided it, and threw it away. Abbie got angry, but I explained that I didn’t feel comfortable having her pay me. The only logical solution is that she moves in with me, all I have to do is ask her.

“What are you saying?” I glance at her out of the corner of my eyes before flicking the turning signal and pulling into the parking lot.

I park the truck and look at her. “I’m saying that I want you to move in with me. I want to make my bed ours. I want to redecorate my house with your touch. I want to hang pictures of us on the walls.” Abbie smiles as I speak, so I take that as a good sign. “What do you say?”

“Can we watch Harry Potter whenever we want, even if we’ve seen it a hundred times?”

“Only if it’s in a fort,” I wink.

“I like the sound of living with you. I have no doubt that we’re headed that way anyway.”

I grab her face and kiss her senseless. Abbie laughs and holds my wrists, staring into my eyes.

“How soon can you move in?” I ask.

“According to my contract, I have to give my tenant a month’s notice.”

“I know a few ways you can persuade him to change that term.”

“Do you now?” Her eyes twinkle, and a beautiful smile covers her face.

“Oh yeah. We’ll work on it later tonight.” I kiss her again and jump out of my truck, jogging around to open her door.

Before Abbie can step down, I wrap my arms around her waist and carry her, spinning her around. Her laughter rings in the night air.

“Let’s go have fun.” I set her on the ground and lace our fingers together.

We make our rounds through the golf course, passing families and teenagers along with a few other couples. The place is packed, I’m sure people taking advantage of the long weekend and a final escape before school starts next week.

“You’re really good,” Abbie praises when the ball rolls over the hump in the obstacle and stops near the hole.

She positions herself to hit the ball. “Let me help you.” I lean my club against a rock on the course and stand behind her, holding her hands. “It’s all in the hips,” I tell her.

Abbie clears her throat and nods. I smile, knowing this affects her, too. I help her swing, and the ball travels down the hump and passes mine, stopping inches away from the hole.

“Oh, my goodness!” Abbie jumps up and down, throwing herself at me. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome,” I peck her lips. She hasn’t made one ball in the last twenty minutes we’ve been playing. It’s been fun to watch her body move as she swings the club, though.

I putt the ball and make it, taking it out before Abbie tries. When she hits it lightly, it rolls right in.

“Oh, you’re so getting lucky tonight,” she winks.

“I already planned on it,” I smirk and hold her hand, heading over to the next part of the course. Truth is, I’m already lucky by having her in my life.

We continue playing until we reach the end, and Abbie’s stomach is growling.

“Time for greasy pizza,” I announce.

“Yes,” Abbie sighs. “I’m so hungry.”

  “I can tell,” I tease.

She smacks my shoulder and rolls her eyes, walking in front of me.

“I’m a lucky bastard,” I mumble to myself as I watch her from behind.

I jog up next to Abbie and return the clubs before making our way to order our pizza. We take a seat at a booth with our drinks while we wait for our food.

Abbie takes a sip of her pop and says, “I sent Cindy and Maverick some of the photos today. They loved them, and guess what!” She smiles wide, her eyes crinkling in the corners.

“Tell me.” I lean forward on my elbows.

“They’re going on a second date tonight.”

“No way,” I smirk. “Good for them. If they get married, we better be invited to their wedding.”

Abbie chuckles and nods. “I thought the same thing.”

“When are you posting the photos on your website and social media accounts?” I link our fingers in the center of the table.

“I actually posted them this afternoon, after I sent them over to them. I only posted a sneak peek of about ten pictures, and announced the couple who won. A few people had been asking.”

“That’s great. Are you getting good feedback?” The photographs turned out amazing, and it’s exciting if her clients and followers enjoyed them.

“So far, yes.” Abbie nods. “People loved the idea and are coming up with all kinds of stories about their relationship. It’s cute.”

“This is going to expand your business.” I nod, confident.

“Actually, I already booked a couple today from Wellington that saw the photos and loved them. They want ‘just because’ pictures only because they loved Cindy and Maverick’s photo.”

“That’s fantastic. Congrats.” Pride fills me as I look at her smile.

“Yeah, so do you wanna be my assistant again?” She tilts her head and gives me her best smile, the one I can’t say no to.

“Of course. If the ranch doesn’t work out, I can always work as your assistant.”

“I’ll pay you well,” she promises with a wink.

I chuckle and agree to her terms. Our hands break away when the waitress appears with our pizza, placing the round pie in the center of the table.

I lift my pop and motion for Abbie to do the same. “For us and for our future,” I toast, tapping the cups together.

  “Cheers to that.”

I stare at the woman in front of me, wondering how it took me so long to see how amazing she is. Not just in looks, but her heart is the kindest I know. She makes life a lot more fun with her random conversation starters and terrible dance moves as she sings off-key around my house. She’s it for me, from now until eternity
, and I’m so grateful I get the opportunity to live a life with her.

  Abbie

“I hear you two are shacking up,” Eli says as we meet our friends by the hay maze at the Labor Day Festival.

“Who told you?” Finn asks, looking at me.

  “Averly,” Eli’s smile is wide.

Finn lifts his eyebrows and smiles at me. “What? They’re my best friends, of course I sent them a message and told them,” I defend.

As if I wouldn’t tell Averly, Poppy, and Faith about this life-changing event. I mean, it’s huge. I feel like Monica from Friends when she’s getting ready to move in with Chandler. My reaction to my friends was, I have to live with a boy. Of course, I’m ecstatic.

Despite all that happened, Finn is my choice. People will always talk, but that’s not my problem. All I can control is my happiness, and that includes Finn. It’s been my biggest lesson.

“That’s awesome! Congrats,” Ainsley hugs me upon hearing the news.

  “Thanks,” I smile and squee.

The rest of our friends congratulate us on our next step. Finn wraps his arm around my waist and smiles down at me.

“Abbie, I love the photo shoot you did with those two strangers,” Sutton speaks up after a moment.

“Thanks! It was a lot of fun. They’ve actually gone on a couple of dates.”

“No way, that’s cool,” her eyes light up. “So romantic, too,” Sutton swoons. “Anyway, I can’t wait for you to take my photos for the album. Seeing those got me even more excited, although I wouldn’t mind a blind photo setup with a hottie,” she giggles and then halts, looking behind me.

I turn around and see Gavin making his way toward us with Penny skipping next to him as he holds her hand. I turn back to Sutton, who blushes and clears her throat. Finn looks at me with the same bewildered expression.

“Hey, guys,” Gavin says when he reaches us.

“Hey, cuz,” I smile over at him before squatting and hugging Penny.

He says hello to everyone, and when he reaches Sutton, he introduces himself. She smiles and shakes his hand, but I notice the slight awkwardness in her movements.
