Something bad went down between Evie and her dad it seems for her not to want to speak of him. That loser didn’t deserve Suzie and sure as hell didn’t deserve a daughter like Evie. He was going to make sure the Decker’s did right by his new niece, they were gonna fill her with all their good memories of Suzie. It’ll be as if she never lost her.

The Best Gift
Eva froze in her steps as she saw the dozens of red roses in her sitting room. She glanced at Noah in question who was standing there with a single red rose in his hand.
“What?” She asked him skeptically.
“Can’t I do something nice for my beautiful wife?” Noah asked as he strode up to her, kissing her then presented the rose, “Do you know how much I love you?”
“I love you, too,” Eva responded, skeptically. “What is it?”
“Jeez, Eva! I suck that bad!” Noah asked.
“It’s just been a while and it’s not our anniversary or my birthday which by the way you still owe me a proper gift for…”
“I’m not good enough as a gift!” Noah asked, “I went all out!”
“Out of your mind! You laid on the bed and said, “This is for you baby and played - Let’s get it on – that is a gift for you, not me.”
“There was chocolate and flowers. You like expensive stuff and I thought what else you like so that’s what I did!”
“It can’t be that hard to get me a decent gift, Noah…”
“It’s near impossible, but I don’t want to argue about this. I have a surprise for you.” Noah teased.
“Another naked surprise?” Eva asked dryly.
“No! It’s not a naked surprise and don’t act like you don’t like them Miss Screamer!”
“I’m not complaining about the naked surprise, but I need a variety now and then.”
“I got plenty…
“Not sex positions, Noah!” Eva clarified.
“You know what, I’ll just keep my naked surprises to myself from now on….”
“Oh no!” Eva mock cried as she slumped into the sofa, “However, will I survive?”
“Just for that, I’m not giving you this one either!”
“Oh, come on, baby. I didn’t mean to be mean. May I please have my surprise?” Eva asked a surly Noah who muttered, “Well you ruined it already.” Eva pouted, and he relented saying “We’re taking a trip to Bigfork Montana.”
Eva’s smile dimmed and she lifted a brow in confusion,“Why?”
“Go sightseeing, camping and maybe do some fishing…” Noah began, but his smile faded as Eva began laughing on the sofa.
“What… part of me looks…like it ever wants to camp?” Eva gasped out.
“The part that would like fucking Noah in the tent,” Noah smirked. That shut her up effectively and Noah muttered, “And you act like you don’t like Naked Noah Surprise.”
Seriously, she asked. “When is this infamous trip?”
“A week from today.”
“That’s no time to get the kids ready…”
“It’s just going to be us, Eva.” Noah clarified.
“Oh!” She said then smiled at him licking her lips. “Oh. I may like this Noah Naked Surprise.”
Noah sat on the sofa and leaned in whispering, “When has it ever disappointed?” Eva blushed before pulling him in for a kiss. As much as Noah loved her kisses he loved seeing her smile and he couldn’t wait to make her smile when she meets her family.
* * *
“Must they always be there? “Eva griped as she looked in the passenger-side mirror at the Secret Service detail following them.
“Sorry. It’s the best I can do.” Noah apologized as he drove.
“At least the scenery is breathtaking.” Eva consoled herself. “The fresh air is amazing. I want a house in the country.” Eva said brightly. “It’s a great plan for retirement. Fresh air, peace and quiet. What do you say?”
“You’re there. I’m there. Whatever you want.” Noah agreed with a smile.
“Pull over,” Eva ordered, and Noah was about to ask why until she tossed her panties in his lap. “I want some fresh air.”
Noah quickly pulled his truck to the side and flicked on his hazard lights. Their detail did also, but before they could get out and find out what’s wrong Sam stopped them.
“Wait.” He told them.
“What do you mean wait?” Granger asked, “They could be in trouble.”
“He would’ve gotten out by now.” Sam pointed out as he watched Noah’s car. The rest of them watched too until Noah’s tank started to rock back and forth. Then Sam smiled at them, “See.”
“Doesn’t he get enough of her already?” Granger complained. She was the only female in the detail and usually assigned to Eva.
“Would you?” Tucker smirked, “If I ever get married, I want my wife to be just like her – rich, smart, deadly with a gun and hot as fuck.”
“Except for being rich, I’m all those things.” Granger boasted, flicking her hair.
“She’s probably a treat in the bedroom too since he can’t keep his hands off her.” Tucker mused.
“I’d recommend not discussing the possibility in front of Noah,” Sam suggested not liking the direction of Tucker’s thoughts. “Losing your job will be the least of your problems.”
“Please.” Tucker scoffed, “I could take him.”
“You’ll not live long to enjoy the victory if you do. Red’s very fond of Noah not being hurt; she may take offense.”
“And pissing her off is something no one with a brain should do.” Granger added, “Even when we spar, she holds back. She adores Noah. She’s not gonna let anyone hurt him.”
“How the hell did he get someone like her?” Tucker asked.
“What’s wrong with him?” Granger asked, “He is smart, good looking…”
“A loser.” Tucker finished.
“Noah is not a loser.” Sam defended.
“Maybe but she’s way out of his league!” Tucker argued.
“And more in yours.” Granger countered, “Good thing you’re on Noah’s and not Eva’s detail. You’d probably be following her around like a little puppy dog drooling on yourself.”
“That may be, but guarding that particular heavenly body would make my day. Switch with me, Granger.” Tucker pleaded.
“Noah doesn’t allow changes in the details and believe me, he notices. Besides when we explain why he’ll probably have a fit.” Hector said from the driver’s seat. “But I’m with you on the heavenly body bit, Tuck. One time Noah was working late, and she showed up at the office door in this peach number with coffee and sandwiches. I don’t think he drank any damn coffee that night, but he sure as hell was up for a very long time. If you know what I mean.”
“That’s another thing about her.” Tucker added, “She feeds him and fucks him. My kind of woman!”
“You’re disgusting!” Granger declared.
“You think Sam doesn’t have those thoughts.” Tucker teased, “He just won’t say ‘em that all.”
“Eva trusts me and doesn’t like being ogled like a piece of meat. She may dress and do certain things with Noah, but trust me if another man tries it he’s gonna lose his hand.”
“Can you elaborate on the certain things she does with our Commander in Chief?” Tucker teased.
Sam glared at him then turned and looked out the window.
“It was a quickie, folks.” Hector informed them, “They’re pulling off.”
“Thank God,” Granger groaned, just as tired of the last few minutes as Sam was.
“So, Masters” Tucker called to Sam, “Have you ever seen her naked?” When Sam remained silent he continued, “The closest I ever came was that time they went at it in the Beast. She came out in his shirt, the problem was that had no buttons either and going by the way he was pressing her against the car didn’t look like he was done anyway. She was trying to leave, and I got a fantastic view of her bare ass as he groped her lifting hi
s shirt.”
“Wait.” Granger said as she recalled, “He was naked that time, I was there.” Then she smiled, “No wonder she married him.”
“He’s alright I guess.” Tucker hedged.
“He’s more than alright if you ask me. And I bet if you ask Eva she’d agree.” Granger supplied as she recalled how Noah took Eva against the Beast.
“Where are we going anyway?” Sam asked switching the subject from Noah and Eva’s sex life.
“I thought you knew,” Granger countered.
“All Noah said was that it was a surprise for Eva.”
“So, he wants to fuck her in a different state?” Hector asked, and Granger and Tucker laughed.
“Not all his surprises involve sex you know,” Sam defended even though he knew what they said was true. Noah was crazy about her, but sometimes he could be a blockhead on pleasing Eva.
“He calls it Naked Noah Surprise for a reason, Sam.” Granger pointed out.
“This is different. He planned this out himself and actually looked nervous about taking her. So, it’s definitely not that.” Sam explained.
“We’re driving up to a farm,” Hector informed them, and everyone grew silent as they watched an elderly man come down to greet them. Noah brought Eva forward to meet the man then she began to cry.
“What the hell is going on?” Tucker whispered as he watched the scene unfold.
Noah produced a handkerchief to dry her tears and she threw herself at him kissing him all over his face and laughing then she turned back to the old man who gestured to the house.
Eva went in without Noah who stood outside the farmhouse with his hand in his pockets smiling to himself. Recalling their details, he went up to the SUV and spoke to Hector.
“Shadow One, you guys can get out and stretch your legs. This could take a while.” He told them, smiling.
“You found her family, didn’t you?” Sam asked in awe.
“Alex really did all the work. I just pointed him in the right direction.” Noah clarified.
“Good work man!” Sam praised clapping him on the back as he got out of the SUV.
“I hope this helps her,” Noah murmured, and Sam nodded.
Sam didn’t know the details, but he picked up enough from watching Eva all these years that everything about her wasn’t as perfect as she seemed. When she thought no one was around to see she dropped her guard and Sam could see the pain and darkness she carried around. He was glad Noah was trying to help her.
“Where are we gonna stay?” Tucker asked.
“Did I not say to pack for a camping trip?” Noah pointed out then gestured to the fields, “I suggest you pick your spot early,” Then glanced at the sky, “looks like rain too,” And strode off grinning.
“Relax,” Granger soothed, “Eva would not let us sleep outside.”
“Yeah, but he might,” Hector pressed, looking alarmed.
“Fucker gets his kicks by messing with us.” Tucker pointed out, “He doesn’t even call us by name!”
“He knows your name,” Sam defended.
“Then why the fuck doesn’t he use it?” Hector asked.
“Like you said he likes messing with you,” Sam smirked.
“You’re his boy. That’s why you’re not worried!” Tucked argued.
“No, he’s not worried because Eva wouldn’t let us sleep outside,” Granger repeated, “Right Sam?”

Cousin Eva
FOUR HOURS LATER…
“I knew that fucker was going to let us sleep outside!” Hector complained under his sleeping bag.
“I don’t get how Eva forgot about us,” Granger asked into the dark tent.
“Because no doubt she’s busy riding that fucker’s dick for what he did today. Fucker didn’t even send us some food!” Tucker griped.
“I think we should tell Eva we’re sleeping on the ground and haven’t eaten yet.” Granger decided, and Hector and Tucker nodded in agreement.
“There are two special forces marines and a navy seal in here and you guys are whining like a bunch of girls.” Sam pointed out.
“In the marines, they fed us at least!” Granger pointed out.
Fed up of the whining, Sam got up and said, “I’ll tell Noah, that we need better arrangements than this. Not that I’m complaining, but I need to be someplace less chatty.”
A chorus of snitch, kiss ass and suck up followed him out, but Sam was used to it since he was put on the Secret Service detail. He often felt his fellow agents only tolerated him because of his closeness with the POTUS and FLOTUS. Ironically, it was the same reason they kept their distance.
He was making his way to the back of the house when the shadow almost ran into him. He stopped it by slamming it against the side of the house. He automatically searched for weapons, his hand roaming over some very delectable curves until a feminine shriek made him stop then there were soft curses.
“Who the fuck is you?” The small shadow asked in a husky Midwest accent.
As Sam’s eyes adjusted to the dark he made out red hair and asked, “Eva?”
“Word to the not so wise asshole. If you’re gonna feel up a woman in the dark, the least you can do is get her name right.”
“Look I’m not from around here…”
“No shit.”
“Maybe you should tell me who you are and what you’re doing here.”
“Firstly, you’re the stranger and secondly I ain’t got to tell you squat! Go fuck yourself Feely!”
Seeing as this was going nowhere, Sam solved the problem by picking up the cursing fighting female and carrying her to the back porch. She was making quite a scene that brought Eva and the Decker clan outside.
“Who are you?” Simon asked, rifle in hand.
“He’s part of our Security detail Noah explained as he joined them.
“Did you do this, Sam?” Eva whispered in shock as she watched the woman.
“Do what?” Sam asked then began to explain “I found this one at the side of the house. I was just gonna bring her and…” His words died as he finally got a good look at the woman, “What the hell?”
“Did you do this, Sam?” Eva repeated as she stepped up to him in what Sam recognized as her ‘You better run tone’
“He didn’t do it.” The woman informed them, “This is my husband’s handy work.”
“Who are you?” Noah asked.
“She’s my niece, Skylar.” Simon answered, “And this is just one of the many times she’s shown up looking like this.” He gripped, “We fix her up, beg her to stay and she goes right back to him.”
“She is not going back this time.” Eva declared then asked, “Uncle Simon, can you get me a first aid kit.”
“I’ll tell your mama you’re here,” Simon muttered as he left.
“Hello Skylar, my name is Evaline…”
“Aren’t you the First Lady?” Skylar asked then glanced at Noah and stepped back pointing, “He’s the President! What are you all doing out here?”
“We’re visiting my family. Cousin Skylar.” Eva replied with a smile.
“Cousin?” Skylar asked in shock, “I can’t be related to you.”
“Why not?” Eva asked softly, feeling hurt by Skylar’s comments.
“Because…look at you…You’re…you!” Skylar gestured to Eva, “and I’m…well me.”
“I can do it if you like, Eva. I feel kinda bad for roughing her up.” Sam asked as Eva was handed the first aid kit.
Eva smiled brightly at him then glanced at Skylar, “Do you mind?”
“I do as you order, Ma’am.”
“We’re family, Skylar. Your opinion matters.” Eva informed her.
“It’s okay, I guess,” Skylar muttered.
“Don’t worry, Sam will take good care of you,” Eva promised before she left them alone.
“Where’s your husband now?” Sam asked as he opened the kit.
“Sleeping. Probably will miss me come morning when his breakfas
t isn’t there.” Skylar muttered then winced as Sam cleaned her cuts.
“Sorry.” He muttered.
“This isn’t your fault.” Skylar admitted, “I should’ve bought the beer instead of feeding our kids.”
“Where are your kids?”
“Got a friend that hides ‘em for a few days till he calms down. Once he calms down, he is just the sweetest man. I don’t even have to work, and he takes care of us. They don’t understand. It’s the drinking that makes him ornery. Once he stops drinking, he’s fine.”
“You didn’t buy the beer so what did he drink?” Sam asked.
“What?”
“You said you didn’t buy the beer that’s why he was mad, but then you said he hits you when he’s drunk. So, what did he drink?” Sam elaborated.
Skylar pulled away hissing, “You don’t know us so don’t come here judging me! I don’t see no ring on your finger so what do you know about being married?”
“I know I won’t be hitting on my wife for any reason!” Sam shot back.
“Thank you for help, Feely, but I think I’ll be going home now!”
“Before or after you take your kids outta hiding!”
“Fuck you, Feely! You don’t know anything! At least I got somebody to love me. Who you got? Your left hand!”
“At least when I use my hands it’s for pleasure and not to beat up my wife and kids! And FYI that ain’t love! If a man loves you he would never lay hands on you like that. He’s supposed to protect you and treat you right, not turn you into his own punching bag!”
“Go to hell!” Skylar gritted out before she stormed off, but Sam was faster and jumped in front of her.
“You’re not going back to him!”
“Out of my way. You don’t tell me what to do!”
“Even if I have to tie you to a chair, you’re not going back. I’ll get the law to take your kids if you go back to him.” Sam threatened.
Skylar laughed darkly, “Go right ahead! I like to see you call their Daddy to come get his kids.” She chuckled.
“What?”
“Their father is the Sheriff. He is the law!” Skylar explained, smiling.
