Note to Reader:
Here’s what I found in my research for this story. According to Wikipedia the last Comanche raid into Mexico may have been in 1870 when the Comanche reportedly killed 30 persons near Lampazos, Nuevo Leon. After the civil war, the Comanche were reduced to about 1,500 people and surrendered to the U.S. Army in 1875. The Kiowa and Kiowa-Apache also surrendered at that time.
The Whiskey Ring was real, but was not dissolved until 1875. That’s why our good agents did not solve the case, but left excellent leads into who was responsible.
The meeting between President Grant and President De Tejada never happened as far as I know, but it made for a good plot for Serafina and Todd to meet. Don’t you think? *wink*
About the Author

Lynn Donovan is an author, playwright, and director who spends her days chasing after her muses, trying to get them to behave long enough to write their stories. The results are numerous novels, multi-author series, anthologies, dramatizations, and short stories.
