She ran her hands over his body and when she brushed his erection, he groaned into her mouth.
“You’re driving me crazy,” he said.
“Ditto.”
He nibbled her lips, then trailed kisses over her face till her got to the sensitive spot on her neck. He licked, kissed and gently bit her there. She gasped and bucked forward.
She needed him. She felt like she was going to combust if she didn’t feel him inside her. She held the base of his shaft with one hand and stroked it with the other hand, her touch going up to the head, then back again to the base. Very slowly, she brought the tip of his erection into her moist center and slipped the head in. But she held on, not moving past the head.
“Oh…Oh!” She gasped, panting at the molten lava that was flowing through her veins. She wanted to move so badly, but she gritted her teeth and remained still. She could feel that area getting drenched. She was so wet.
“You are going to kill me,” Nico groaned. “This is so damn good.”
It almost killed her to do it, but she didn’t move. “Condom,” she said in a tight voice.
Nico blindly stretched his hand towards the edge of the bed. He found what he was searching for and made short work of tearing the pack. With a groan of pain, he pulled out of her center. When he was fully sheathed though, he grabbed her hands and lifted them up, over her head. He held them both with one hand, then used the other hand to leave a trail of caresses over her body.
He positioned the tip of his shaft at the entrance to her center, then drove into her with such force, a scream was torn out of her lips. The walls of her vagina clung to him, releasing spasms of pleasure all through her being.
“Nico! Hard. Take me hard.”
He withdrew, and slammed into her with equal force. She wrapped her legs around his waist and moved with him, meeting his thrusts with equal fervor.
“Tamika…Tamika…Tamika.” He chanted her name each time he shoved into her. He let go of her hands and held on to her hips. She held on to his shoulders, her head thrown back as she gave herself up to the sensation.
Each time he hit her insides, sparks went off.
“Faster…harder…” she said breathlessly.
She was close. She could feel it. Nico increase his pace, each thrust hitting her at just the right place.
“Oh god, yeah…Just there.” She twisted her hips as she moved with him.
“So good…” he murmured.
He increased his pace again, and she felt like she was going to explode.
“Nico,” she shouted his name.
“Yeah baby, Nico,” he growled.
She felt her core clenching around him as her orgasm built. The pleasure was almost too much. She clutched his shoulders, feeling the scream building up.
“Come for me, baby,” he said.
And just like that, the orgasm ripped through her. She let out a keening wail as she exploded into a million different pieces. The pleasure was so intense, it left her sobbing. She heard him shout her name as he met his own climax.
Tamika was shattered. She had no other way to explain how she felt. Nico ran a hand through her hair and whispered endearments, trying to soothe her. He dropped light kisses on her lips. As she calmed down, Tamika felt her body relax. She wanted to open her eyes to thank him, but her lids were too heavy. She parted her lips to speak but was asleep before the first word left her lips.
Chapter Twelve
Nico watched her as her body slowly relaxed and she slept. He gently caressed her hair watching as her face turned peaceful. She sighed in her sleep and he felt a small smile tug at his lips. He leaned down to drop a soft kiss on her parted lips. She was the most beautiful woman he’d had in his bed. She was so open and expressive and was as in to him as he was in to her. And the chemistry they had was…wow. He had never experienced such sheer chemistry with another woman before.
He wrapped his arms around her and went on his back. Her body was half sprawled over his and she murmured something as she snuggled deeper into him.
And that was another thing. He didn’t do post-coital cuddling. Hell, he had never spent a full night with a woman. Usually after a couple of rounds, he woke them up and sent them home with his driver or if he was over at their place, he found his way home. He did not like the intimacy that came from cuddling.
But with this woman, he didn’t want to let go. That was not a good sign. He sighed and pulled her closer even as the thoughts ran through his mind. It occurred to him then that he’d finally found the right person to take home to his mother. That was if she didn’t give in and shoot him in the balls first.
His lips quirked in amusement at that. She was so fierce. And that was the same passion she brought to bed. He had not been able to get enough of her. They’d made love a total of four times that night. No wonder the poor thing was tuckered out. He’d exhausted her. He was tired himself, but his mind was working overtime and he knew it would take some time for him to get to sleep.
Just then she stirred and pressed a kiss to his chest.
“Aren’t you supposed to be sleeping?” he asked, looking down at her.
“You’re messing with my sleep,” she said in a voice that was tired and sleepy. Her eyes were still shut.
“How?”
“You need to sleep. Can hear you thinking. Can’t sleep,” she muttered. Then her breathing deepened and she was sleeping once again.
Nico felt something shift inside him. She was so damn attuned to him, it was scary. Nice, but scary. It wasn’t something he’d had a lot of in his life. His mom was the only one who had been able to see through the smoke screen he used to keep others out. And he had to convince her that he’d fallen in love in less than two weeks. He was so fucked.
With a sigh, he finally closed his eyes and went to sleep.
The next time he opened his eyes, it was bright outside. Several streaks of sunlight penetrated the blinds and sneaked into the room. He felt better than he’d felt in a long time. With a smile, he reached for Tamika and found the space beside him empty. He frowned and turned to look. She was not in the bed. He listened for any sound indicating that she’d only gone for a bathroom break. None. He touched the place she’d been sleeping and found it cold. She’d been gone for a while.
His frown turned heavy.
He glanced at the clock beside his bed. It was eight a.m. Where the hell could she be off to at that time of the morning? He sat up, intending to go after her and drag her back to his bed if need be, then he paused. What if she just needed some space? After all, it wasn’t like they were in a relationship or anything. For all he knew, it might just have been a one-night stand to her.
He lay back on the bed. Everything in him rejected the idea of a one-night hookup. He was not letting that woman go, regardless of what she thought. One night with her was not nearly enough. She was still in his veins and they were going to have as many nights and days as were necessary to get her out of his system.
With that decided, he got up and headed to the bathroom. Giving her space would be a mistake. She would have time to decide that she didn’t want to be with him and then she would pull down all those defenses she seemed to have perfected. Hell no. He needed to remind her how good they were together and ASAP.
Thirty minutes later, he’d showered and dressed. He stepped out of his room and headed down the hall to the bedroom she occupied. He tapped on the door but there was no response. He hesitated a fraction then turned the knob. There was no one inside and the bed looked like it hadn’t been slept in. Obviously, since she’d been in his bed.
Hmm. He walked briskly into the living room, but found it empty. He searched the office, the dining room and ended up in the kitchen where Mrs. Flores was busy with breakfast preparations.
“Good morning, Mrs. Flores.”
She looked up and beamed a smile his way. “Good morning, Mr. Nico. Breakfast in ten minutes.”
He nodded absently. “Have you seen Ms. White?” he asked.<

“Oh, Tamika is at the poolside. She have breakfast with that gentleman.”
Nico paused. Gentleman? What gentleman? He asked as much. He knew it was not Alex, she would have said if it was.
“I don’t know. He come in helicopter. They hug. They have breakfast. That’s all I know,” she said with a shrug.
Nico’s lips thinned. Who the hell had invaded his island without letting him know first? He strode out of the kitchen in a foul mood. Tamika should be having breakfast with him, not some goddamn gentleman.
He found her at the poolside, just as Mrs. Flores had said. She was sitting with a huge man he recognized as one of her teammates. When he saw who it was, he stifled a groan. He was in no mood to deal with the dark looks from Rusty, or whatever his name was. He should have been the one having breakfast with Tamika. Damn it!
As he walked towards them, he wondered how he was going to play this. He decided to play it by ear.
“Hi, hope you’re both enjoying your meal?” he asked with a pleasant smile.
Rusty nodded. “Hi Nico. The breakfast is great. How are you?”
He sounded pleasant enough, which was surprising. Nico eyed him then turned his attention to Tamika. She sent a bland, impersonal smile his way.
“Good morning, Nico. Breakfast is nice. Mrs. Flores outdid herself.”
He stared at her. Was that how she wanted to play this? Like there was nothing between them? Like hell. He made a split second decision then. He walked to where she was sitting, he saw the alarm in her eyes and felt satisfaction course through him. Be alarmed, baby, be very alarmed.
He leaned down, placing both hands on the arm of the chair in which she sat, then covered her mouth with his in a kiss that let her know immediately that he was thinking about the night before. She kept her mouth impassive beneath his, but after a while, her lips softened and she was kissing him back with a sigh.
Nico forgot everything except the feel of her mouth beneath his. He placed a hand at the back of her head to hold her steady, while he deepened the kiss. She shut her eyes and kissed him with the same intensity. When she moaned at the back of her throat, he almost lost it. The sound of a throat being cleared suddenly brought him back to earth and he remembered where he was. He drew back slightly, feeling satisfaction curl in his stomach when her lips clung to his. He kissed her again, then straightened up.
“Good morning, sweetheart,” he said softly.
She blinked up at him, looking so lost for a moment. He found it endearing really, and could not help the smile that curved his mouth. She shook her head and frowned at him. Her lips formed a pout before she deliberately turned her head away. He didn’t mind. She could tell herself whatever she wanted to, but he’d felt that kiss. She was hot for him. Which was great since he was equally hot for her.
He took a seat beside her before turning his gaze to Rusty. The other man was looking at him with a speculative gleam in his eyes.
“I warn you to stay away from him and you go and do the opposite?” The man turned his attention to Tamika. There was no heat in his voice, just wry amusement.
Nico turned to her wondering how she was going to handle this and saw her face heat up.
“You know how much I hate being told what to do,” she said with a shrug.
Nico filed that away for future reference.
“I wonder how you survived in the army for so long,” Rusty murmured. “Well, you’re both adults.”
He sent a look Nico’s way that let him know the other man was not done with the subject. They would revisit it later, probably when Tamika was absent. Nico didn’t care, he was ready.
“Right, do you have any news for me?” Nico asked.
“We found her.”
“You found Chicha?” Nico felt hope blossom.
“Yep. Once we had her fingerprints, it wasn’t hard. She’s had several tickets, has been pulled over for drunk driving and for several years, was involved in a series of domestic abuse cases. She has quite a file on record.”
That did not surprise Nico. In the short time he’d known her, he’d discovered one thing; she loved to live on the wild side.
“Do you know if she still has the plans on her?” As much as he needed to get his hands on the woman, what he really needed were the plans. He could deal with the damn woman later, if he felt inclined to do so.
Rusty shook his head. “We couldn’t determine that. But we have a couple of people on ground. They’re trying to find out the status of the plans.”
Nico nodded. He was impressed by the Silver Shield folks. They worked quickly and efficiently.
“Where exactly is she right now?”
“Seattle,” Rusty said.
“Rusty and I are leaving in half an hour,” Tamika said.
He turned his gaze on her. She and Rusty were leaving? Like hell. He kept an impassive face.
“I’ll need to be there as well so I can identify the plans.”
“There’s no need for that, just tell us what to look out for,” Tamika said.
Rusty chuckled. “Sorry, honey, but he’s right on this one. We have no way of identifying a counterfeit if we’re presented with one.”
Tamika glared at him, her annoyance coming through. Then she wiped her face clean of any expression and got to her feet.
“In that case, I’ll go get packed. Excuse me.”
Nico watched her walk away, her stride brisk and sure. He leaned back to watch that delectable ass sway. He was not done with her, not by a long mile.
He could guess what was going through her mind though. She wanted to keep him at arm’s length, but he wasn’t having it. After a few seconds, he shifted his gaze to Rusty and found the other man watching him. He nodded his head and waited.
Rusty met his gaze and held it without flinching. They stared at each other for several moments in silence. Nico had to admire the guy, his face was unreadable, but Nico didn’t have the time. If they were going to spend several hours in each other’s company, they needed to hash out any beef between them. Just as he decided to break the silence, Rusty spoke.
“If you hurt her in any way, I will come after you and it’s going to be ugly.”
Nico raised an eyebrow. “You don’t think you’re reading more into this than what it is?”
Rusty cocked a brow, mimicking Nico’s expression. “Am I?” he asked.
“You tell me.”
Rusty narrowed his eyes, “For someone so smart, you can be fucking dumb,” he said with a shake of his head. “She’s been through a lot. You’ve seen her, she’s damn gorgeous, but she’s turned down everyone who’s wanted to be with her over the years.”
“And yet she said yes to me.”
“Yet, she said yes to you. That doesn’t tell you anything, asshole?”
Nico did not know what to think. If what the other man was suggesting had even a small iota of truth, it meant Tamika really liked him. Hell, she maybe, cared for him? Nah. He’d seen her reaction that morning. She could not wait to put an ocean between them. So she wasn’t exactly regretting what had happened, he hadn’t seen any sign of that, but she was not looking for a repeat performance either. That much was clear.
“It’s not like that between us,” he finally said.
“Tell yourself what you will,” Rusty said with a shrug. “You’re both adults. But if you do hurt her, you’re going to have to answer to me.”
“Duly noted,” Nico said tersely. He did not appreciate being threatened, but he understood that Tamika had a close relationship with the man and he was only looking out for her. So he could let it slide.
“Good. Now that we’re clear, we need to get ready. We’re leaving ASAP.”
“Wait, that’s all?”
Rusty frowned. “I don’t get you.”
“You warned her away from me. Aren’t you going to warn me to stay away from her?”
“Is that going to change anything?” he asked.
“Hell no.”
“That
s what I thought. See you in fifteen,” he said, getting to his feet.
Nico watched him walk away, his mind conflicted. On the one hand, the need to taste Tamika again, to touch her and feel her warm body in his arms was one that was slowly taking over his thoughts. Since he’d woken up that morning, it had been the only thing he could think of. Yet, if what Rusty said was true and Tamika had feelings for him, as far out as that sounded, then he needed to tread carefully. He had nothing to offer a woman, he’d never pretended otherwise and he wasn’t going to start now.
Chapter Thirteen
Tamika leaned back against her seat with a sigh. She stared out her window at the clouds. They were somewhere midair, on the way to Seattle. She had no idea where exactly, and she did not really care. She just wanted to be left alone. She did not understand the strange achy feeling in the pit of her stomach, which had sprung up after her last conversation with Nico several hours ago.
Just before they left the island, he had cornered her wanting to know why she was giving him the cold shoulder. She had seen in his eyes that he wanted more of what they’d had the night before. And god help her, she wanted him as well. But she’d seen what happened as a glitch in time and had told him as much. He had not liked that.
“What the hell are you saying, Tamika?” he’d asked.
“I’m saying that it was fun while it lasted, but I’m not interested in an affair. I’m not interested in seeing where this leads. Nothing.”
He’d been pissed. She had seen it in the flaring of his nostrils and the way he had narrowed his eyes.
“You know that we’re not done.”
“Oh, we are,” she’d countered.
“I call bullshit! You know damn well we have a good thing going and you want to throw it away because you’re too scared to see where it all leads?”
“What kind of bullshit are you talking about?”
