Legends Lost Tesnayr

  “Tesnayr?” Jenel poked her head into Tesnayr’s tent as he stuffed supplies into an already bursting pack.

  “Jenel, you shouldn’t be here,” said Tesnayr, looking up.

  “I had to see you.” Jenel stepped toward him placing a small item in his hand.

  “What is this?” he asked. He studied the small star shaped pendant.

  “It is the star of Kylon,” Jenel replied. “It is our guiding star. This belonged to my sister before me. I want you to take it with you for luck.”

  “I cannot accept this.” Tesnayr handed the necklace back to Jenel.

  “Take it,” she insisted. “Please. For me.”

  Her pleading eyes melted his resolve. Gently, he placed it around his neck.

  Jenel straightened it admiring it on him. She placed a tender kiss on his cheek. “It will protect you.”
