Magic Makes the Man Page 6

  Steve nodded. “Noted.”

It seemed like a pretty innocuous thing. There really wasn’t anything that could go awry with that, was there?

  Chapter Two

The Thing that Went Awry with That

Steve examined the lines around her eyes. Without make-up and perfect lighting, she wasn’t exactly the woman he’d fantasized about so many times.

  She was more.

She was absolutely gorgeous and despite his best intentions, he had let Firefly make it happen for him. The sharp pang of affection he was feeling for her was exactly the reason he had so far been reluctant to use the Jinn’s powers this way. The last thing he would want was for someone else to feel this about him. Steve had never been the playboy type. Most of his relationships in the past had been long-term and certainly based on more than simple chemical attractions.

His love for the actress snuggled against his shoulder was an unfair one.

The feelings he held for her were as artificial as the magic that had brought the two of them together, regardless of how it benefitted both of them. That’s what Firefly kept saying, of course, but he hadn’t yet convinced himself that it was possible. What could he have possibly done to benefit the gorgeous creature next to him? It was artificial because half of it was based on characters she’d played in the movies and the simple faux-candidness of interviews and whatnots.

He hadn’t met the real Lilly Austen until last night, when he had ‘coincidentally’ run into the actress in the hotel’s elevator following a panel discussion of her most recent superhero movie. She had taken her brunette locks and darkened them enough that the rich, chocolate undertones only came out under bright lights.

The biggest surprise to him was that he had complimented her on it. In the past, he would have simply said hello and stood in the corner in introverted terror. The military had helped that a lot.

Firefly had helped it even more. The moment played back in his memory clearly, as if recorded. Probably more of Firefly’s magic, he thought.

  “Thanks.”

Those gray-ringed green eyes had sparkled up at him as the elevator continued to announce each successive floor as they rode to the top.

Even with his recent growth, that probably would have been the end of it if it had been up to Steve to keep things moving.

“I darkened it for Golden Gods, but I really like it.”

Lilly ran her fingers through the loose, spiraling curls that draped down to the midpoint of breasts that seemed too big to be natural considering her physique. They were. Despite outward signs that would steer people away from the label, Steve was a bit of a geek when it came to fandoms and especially comic book characters.

“It looks good on you, really.” Steve said.

The pair watched the floors count up for a moment before the actress spoke up again.

“Are you here for the con?”

Steve looked down and was immediately thrown off by the sudden eye contact. It took his nervousness from a six to a nine.

  “I just watched your panel.”

  She blushed.

It was the last thing that Steve had expected, but there it was, spreading hotly across her freckled cheeks.

“That’s cool.” She said. “I just didn’t picture you as a…”

“Takes all shapes and sizes, right?” He said, smiling.

Their eyes flicked back to the count.

  Twenty-Two.

  Twenty-Three.

“What floor are you going to?” Lilly asked.

She had stepped into the elevator one floor above where he had gotten on, almost knocking the breath from his lungs with her sudden appearance.

  “Thirty-three.”

“They put me on the top floor, too.” She said, smiling. “Not like I asked for it or anything. If I get too high, I swear I can feel the building swaying.”

Steve laughed and she glanced over at him, a wary smile on her lips.

  “What’s funny?”

“I’m the same way.” He said. “I really just wanted a regular room, but a friend of mine had ‘connections’ and wanted to give me an upgrade.”

“Sounds like a good friend.” The actress said, pushing a winding curl gently behind her ear with her fingertips.

“Her heart’s in the right place.”

He glanced towards her again, hesitantly. It was nerve-wracking to stare into those eyes. What he saw there was surprising. Was it disappointment?

“Yeah, mine was just my agent, not…”

The actress’s words trailed off wistfully, at least that was the impression they left on the only one who heard them.

“Personal assistant, of a sort.” Steve said, jumping in.

His initial read of her face was given the benefit of a bit more evidence as her eyes brightened and her full cheeks rose, trying to bring the corners of her lips with them.

“Yeah, I keep saying, you know, sometimes I just want to be a bit more normal.”

Steve laughed. “I tell Firefly the same thing every day.”

The word was out from between his lips before he could catch it. He saw the actress’s puzzled look.

“Nickname. She’s kind of a character.”

Lilly laughed, then extended her hand.

Almost shocked, Steve took it, automatically giving her his standard handshake, firm and strong.

“Lilly Austen.” She said. Her eyes were already trailing down to their hands before finishing. “But you probably already know that.”

  Shit.

Steve loosened his grip. “Sorry, old habit from the Army.” He said. “Sergeant Steve Ballard. Well, not really Sergeant anymore.”

He let his hand slip from hers.

“Thank you for your service, Steve.”

Steve barked a laugh, giving the actress a quick start.

“Sorry.” He said. “I never really know what the hell I’m supposed to say back to that. Thanks?”

Lilly Austen seemed to think about it for a moment. She bit down on the corner of her bottom lip in a way that made Steve’s knees want to buckle.

“I guess I’ve never thought of that before.” She said. “Does it help to know that we really aren’t expecting an answer?”

“That’s certainly a relief.” Steve said, sighing.

  Lilly laughed.

“Do you want to have a drink?”

The thought that the spunky Jinn was involved in this certainly crossed his mind, but there were hard limits to his self-control and he realized he had just bumped into one of them.

  Chapter Three

  Just a Drink

The near buckling of Steve’s knees when the beautiful actress had simply blushed at his words was dramatically overshadowed within thirty seconds of stepping into her hotel room which happened to be just a few doors down from his own.

Following her in, he’d let himself become distracted admiring the perfect shape of her body in the tight-fitting, low-cut jeans that had obviously been worn to attract just the type of fanboy attending the con. He’d just been letting his eyes roll over the curve of those perfect buttocks when she’d tossed her key card and nearly pirouetted to face him.

His eyes returned to an appropriate place quickly enough to give him vertigo, which just started the ball rolling. The second shock was watching those stunning eyes lock to his. He hadn’t even processed why they seemed to be getting bigger and bigger until her lips were firmly pressed against his own, her tongue asking desperately for an invitation that he gladly offered.

All of that was overwhelming enough without the sudden addition of the actress’s hand sliding into his pants. He groaned into her lips as she quickly found a grip on his cock, which went from parade rest to full attention like a well-trained unit doing drill and ceremony.

“That’s a good, normal response.” The actress said, her perfect body pressing tightly against his own despite her slowly moving arm between them. His fingers felt like a kid crashing through the gate of an opening
amusement park. They ran straight for the main attraction, cupping one of her perfect ass cheeks, pulling her in to him even tighter.

The kiss re-ignited as if an accelerant had been added. It was hot and breathy and the stroking of her hand threatened to push him to his own personal flash point but there was nothing he could do to stop it. Well, nothing he wanted to do, anyway. Lilly’s lips were excellent. Soft to the touch yet firm when she put them on the offensive.

“I just want to be normal, too. Just for once.” She announced, breaking the kiss. Those eyes blazed into Steve’s as she continued stroking his throbbing cock.

“That’s fair.” Steve said. His fingers had reluctantly left her incredible behind in pursuit of a loftier goal. He gripped the button-side of her tight jeans just below the taut skin of her navel, pulling it sharply outward, yanking the button out of the slot. The zipper put up zero resistance, simply sliding to the base of its pocket as he deliciously retaliated against her intruding hand.

Their faces hovered a few inches apart for a moment, eyes burning with passion. Each could read the others’ desire for another passionate kiss, yet the reluctance to give up that intense gaze was just as apparent.

Lilly Austen’s gorgeous eyes seemed to become unbearably heavy, at least for a moment as Steve’s clumsy fingers finally found their way inside her body.

“Oh, that’s nice.” She whispered. As he drove deeper, she finally let the call to his lips win out.

He was going to explode if things kept going the pace they were going, but he had also learned that Firefly’s magic seemed tuned for that as well. Nothing was going to put the brakes on this.

“Normal enough for you?” Steve asked, bridging the gap between their lips before she could respond. He gave her lower lip a delicate bite just before her tongue graced his mouth. Her hips undulated against his intruding hand, causing his fingers to slide in and out of her tight body. It sent shivers down his spine just imagining the things that were to come.

“Yeah, that’s pretty much it.” She whispered. Fortunately, the penetration was providing some degree of distraction as her own hand slowed, but Steve’s scales were already irrevocably out of balance. The intensity of Lilly’s hungry kiss certainly wasn’t helping.

“If you don’t stop, you’re going to make a mess of me.” Steve grinned, reluctantly breaking the kiss.

The overheated actress pulled her head back a bit more, fixing him with that incredible stare. “You’re going to cum?” The question seemed to simultaneously be answered by both her words and the renewed stroking of her hand.

  “Yeah.”

His fingers slipped from Lilly’s tight body suddenly and before he knew it the actress was on her knees, making quick work of his pants which sloughed down to his ankles like a discarded cocoon.

  “Normal.”

The actress gave him that final word before her lips were on him, circling the head as her tongue entered the picture, sliding slowly down his aching shaft, those eyes still locked to his own.

Steve realized that less than twenty-four hours ago, he was debating taking this time away from his studies in order to finally go to the big comic book convention. At the time, his resistance had mostly been denying that it was worth it to take off in order to just have a chance at shaking hands with some of the stars he admired. Had Firefly told him then that Lilly Austen would be on her knees in front of him making a heroic attempt to swallow his entire cock would he have had the self-control to say no?

Self-control was really out the window, though. He gave her a grunted warning that he was about to explode but it was merely answered with an intensification, those sexy lips clamping down even tighter on his cock as her cheeks came in to provide friction with even more of his delighted nerve endings.

The first blast must have gone straight down her throat, but the actress apparently didn’t want to miss out. She backed up, stroking his shaft with her hand as he continued to unload, erupting into her mouth as she swallowed over and over again. She continued her work until well after the increased sensitivity had made her lips a live-wire against his sensitive head, his hips bucking as she squeezed the final drops from him, scooping them up with the tip of her tongue.

“How normal is it for you to cum while a guy goes down on you?” Steve asked, staring down at the satisfied look in delightful green eyes as he extracted his cock from the actress’s mouth.

“Well, I usually…” She stammered, obviously thrown off by the question.

Steve pulled her to her feet by her hands and immediately scooped her up into his arms, eliciting a cute squeak. “Time to establish what’s normal.” He said, carrying her towards the bedroom.

  Chapter Four

  The New Normal

Steve must have dozed off again because the next thing he knew he felt lips sliding up and down the length of his cock again. A quick toss of the sheet revealed the tangled mop of brown belonging to Miss Austen. Fingers wound into those sexy curls, guiding those perfect lips up and down his shaft a few times before pulling her up and off.

“Come up here.” He said, softly. He guided her body on top of his, feeling the tight firmness of her fit thighs clamp around his moments before her tight wetness engulfed him. He had no clue what time it was, just that the pleasure of it had seemed to go on and on nonstop from that first incredible kiss.

“You don’t know how much I needed this, Steve.” She whispered, her lips delicately touching his earlobe as she rolled her hips on him, matching the rhythm of his own body to sink him deep inside of her.

He knew. Firefly’s magic was special. It had some sort of innate ability to provide him whatever he wished while providing a service to the other party as well. He wanted to explore it some more, but he didn’t want to sound completely crazy.

“You’re talking about more than just getting laid, aren’t you?” He asked.

Lilly nodded, but it didn’t stop the gentle piston-like movement of her gorgeous hips. His cock was aching and he had lost track of how many times the actress had made him cum. Her count was locked in his memory, though. He hoped he’d be able to replay the beauty of her orgasms in his mind’s eye for the rest of his life. “It’s hard to find a man that isn’t just a fanboy.”

Steve kissed her. “I am a fanboy, though.”

The actress laughed. “Yeah, but you’re not that kind of fanboy.”

He wasn’t entirely sure what she meant, but he could tell she had more to say. Her body was unending heaven on top of him. He tried to focus on her words.

“I bet you’d laugh if you knew how big my self-esteem issues are. I know, before you say anything, hear me out. To most of my fans, I’m not Lilly Austen. I’m Golden, Starshine, or Mystery Girl. Never just Lilly.”

With a well-timed roll, Steve reversed their position. He felt her long legs slide up his thighs before wrapping tightly around his ass. His cock sank even deeper into her clutching body as he reestablished a rhythm, each stroke causing a flash of hunger in those beautiful green eyes.

“You know what all of those characters have in common?”

“Me, I know.” Lilly said, nearly interrupting.

Steve gathered her hands, holding them over her head by the wrists in one hand while he increased the force of his deep thrusts. She moaned exquisitely.

“No.” He said. His cock hammered in and out of her body multiple times. He could feel her body getting closer and closer to the edge.

“What those characters have in common is that they’re not the original characters from the comics anymore.”

He looked her in the eyes.

“Those guys love Golden because you brought her to life. You put a little bit of yourself into each of them.”

Lilly Austen’s eyes were closed as the orgasm washed over her body. Everything about him washed over her in a perfect storm of passion. His body, his mind, his words; everything was exactly what she hadn’t even realized she needed. One tear squeezed out from her cinched-tight eyes
and she hoped that he didn’t see it. The orgasm was building higher and higher and then suddenly it was as if someone had simply cut the rope holding her tethered to the ground.

Her moan of pleasure was probably being heard by the majority of the thirty-third floor, but she didn’t care.
