THANK You for not only reading this story, but reading our author notes as well. By now, I’ve written hundreds of these things—A good idea that has become a challenge as the company continues to expand and produce more and more books.
I’m not griping, just pointing out why I might not have as many things to say from book to book since between the last book in this series I’ve written another thirty author notes.
However, I want to talk a bit about Tom’s humor. Specifically, I cracked up on the line “that we catch up with 007 when he’s balls-deep in an ongoing mission.”
Balls deep.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA…
I know, I’ve got a child-like sense of wonder right? Still laughing at what is equivalent to elementary schoolboy humor? I don’t care, it’s funny!
Tom says a few more things that I get to translate into how he would talk. I might have mentioned it before that I met him in London in February 2018 and he’s a small fellow with a big fellow’s amount of humor.
(His best friend Barry Hutchinson is a big fellow with a big fellow’s amount of humor but Tom has him beat in the humor per pound challenge.)
I’ve encountered the exact same thing Tom talks about when one of my characters in The Kurtherian Gambit did it to me. (General Lance Reynolds suddenly dropped to one knee to propose a whole book early. That rat-bastard stole my whole scene.)
I know I’ve been a part of a bunch of books, but I’m damn near positive I’ve never had to worry about passed-away spouses getting all chopped up to be feed to the poor.
Dark and twisted imagination indeed! Personally, I like his imagination as it is, and I’m happy to know he is working with us. (No, you other publishers, you can’t have him. We have him, and we aim to keep him!)
If you have youngsters, I’d like to let you know that my collaborator has books out as Tommy Donbavand (Scream Street) for kids in middle-grades. He chose to use a new pen-name so those books wouldn’t accidentally get mixed up with his work here in the Kurtherian Gambit.
