Within seconds, both of them were rock hard. I leaned back against the empty tub, allowing my hair to cascade over my shoulders as he reached down and slid off my black satin panties.

“Someone’s excited,” he said, kneeling down in front of me as he pulled my legs over his shoulders.

I was powerless to stop him. His tongue found my folds, and I arched my back so far I could see out the window behind the tub. The heat and passion between us was out of this world. My body contorted as I slid my hand over the edge of the tub and down to the bottom. He lifted my thighs up, putting me into a twisted backbend.

Jake’s face was buried deep between my legs, licking and sucking until my legs shook so hard that I collapsed. He immediately picked me up and carried me into the standalone shower stall, which was big enough for the two of us.

Then he reached for the water and turned on the shower. Within seconds both of us were standing under the rainfall showerhead, letting the water cascade over us as our lips intertwined. His hardness instinctively found my pussy, the same one he had just brought to climactic pleasure.

I leaned face-first against the cold tile wall. Jake slid his hand down my ass and whipped his wrist, giving it a slap. The sting was surprisingly arousing, and I pushed my ass toward him, beckoning him for his long, hard erection. Jake then set one foot up on the shower shelf and gripped my waist, sliding his cock downward through the rushing water that cascaded over my back. When he reached my pulsating pink lips, he pushed, thrusting deep inside me.

His groans intensified as he pushed and pulled in and out of me, I began to whimper as his movements increased. Faster. My breath became so fevered I thought I’d pass out.

“Oh God,” I screamed as he drove into me.

My fingers pushed against the slick tile walls as he sent my body into ecstasy yet again. When he gripped my waist for more leverage, quickening his tempo in and out, I exploded into another orgasm. While my knees wobbled, Jake pushed deep and held it there as I shook around him.

He then sat down on the bench within the shower, and I slid my wet, naked, trembling body on top of his. As my drenched legs spread across his, he cupped my supple breasts. I slowly lowered myself down on his thick cock and immediately began to bounce. It was as if my body yearned for him, needed him, and once I had him, it did with him what it wanted.

Sex with Jake was like an entirely different experience. One that I didn’t know I needed until I actually had it. He had brought out the carnal woman in me.

Jake grunted and thrust upward as I bounced, meeting me at the base. He sucked on my neck as I screamed out his name, begging him to never stop. I thought the second orgasm had drained all of my energy, but he made it clear that I would be trembling yet again.

He laid his perfect body down on the shower floor, allowing the water to bounce off of his rock hard chest. I watched his reflection in the transparent shower door as he motioned for me to get on. My quivering legs stood over him as I looked him in the eyes. He immediately placed his hands on each of my calves, steadying my body as I slid him back inside of me.

This time his body beneath me was even more euphoric.

Every inch of him was filling my insides, begging to go deeper than before. I leaned back, and he sat up, putting my left breast into his mouth. While watching him nip at my pink nipple, my body twisted and turned against him. His fingers dug into my skin, and I could tell he was on the edge of ecstasy.

“Oh, God!” Jake screamed, and I felt it. I felt how all of his nine inches throbbed against my walls as he exploded.

My head dropped as he pushed upward. With my mouth wide open, I embraced every last drop of what he was giving me.

“Jake!” We stared into each other’s eyes as we rode it out, both of us exhausted from the intense experience.

Afterward, I collapsed on top of him, my soaking wet breasts pushing into his hard chest as the water continued to pour down on us.

Finally, I used the handle in the shower to pull myself to my quaking legs. Jake cracked his neck with a chuckle as he stood up from the floor of the shower. Grabbing the luffa, he lathered it with soap and began to wash my body. It was sensual, personal. I closed my eyes, feeling his caring touch as the hot water streamed down me. It was the most intimate moment I had ever experienced.

When the shower was done, we quietly dried off, staying close. I took Jake's hand and led him to the bed, where we climbed beneath the covers, curling up for sleep. It felt good when he pushed up against my back as we dozed off in bed, knowing Jake would be there in the morning. I hope and prayed we could find a way to never let it end.

When I woke the next morning, I didn’t feel Jake's legs intertwined with mine as they had been all night. My bed even felt lighter. I immediately sat up, looked over, and realized that he was no longer in it.

My heart began racing as I pictured him, leaving in the middle of the night. He was afraid of having Caley seeing that he’d spent the night. It suddenly hit him how big of a commitment that would be.

I called out his name. Silence.

After throwing on a robe, I went into Caley’s room to check in on her. When I saw that she wasn’t in there, I rushed downstairs while calling out both of their names. I started having flashbacks of the nights when Cam didn’t come home.

As I whipped around into the kitchen, I stopped, letting out a breath of relief.

Caley stood on top of a stool wearing an oversized apron. She held a spatula in her hand, and the batter was all over her face. Jake helped her form circles with the mixture in the pan.

“Good morning,” he said and smiled at me.

I was still coming down from my panic attack, so all I could do was smile back.

Jake gave me a wink. “I made coffee."

  “Mommy, I made pancakes!”

"I see that! They are perfect." I kissed the top of her head and then made my way to the coffeemaker.

“Jakey spent the night, Mommy!” Caley told me as if I had no idea.

I sat down with a cup of coffee and watched them cooking. For some reason, even though my worst fear hadn’t come true, I still couldn’t bring myself to say anything.

“You okay?” Jake asked, giving me a slightly confused look.

I nodded at Jake while pointing to my coffee as a hint I wasn’t fully awake, hoping he’d buy the lie that I was telling. I didn’t want to admit my insecurities about our relationship, which I didn’t have up until I woke up this morning.

They flipped pancakes and stacked them up on the plate. As I watched them, the comfort sunk back in, and I realized without a doubt, I was falling in love with Jake. It definitely wasn’t a fling with some guy I went to school with. I was in love with this man.

Watching him with Caley made me realize how perfect we would all be together. I could see Jake, Caley, and me as a family, doing things that Caley rarely did with her father even when he was here.

Yet the more I watched the two of them interact, the more I realized how scared I was. What if it doesn’t work out? What if he goes back to San Diego and never returns, and once again, Caley is let down by a man? Could Jake really do that to me?

I told myself that I was crazy. Jake wouldn’t do that because we had a history. I knew him before the women and the money. He didn’t seem like the type of guy to do what he did for us just to leave.

At least I never read about it in any articles about him, and the tabloids soaked him up.

Still, I thought about his lifestyle back in San Diego and how most men wouldn’t want to give it up. Men were different than women. They wanted money, and fame and that life usually came with womanizing. No billionaire I remember reading about recently was tied down to just one woman, especially one with a kid from another marriage.

I didn’t want to tell Jake my fears, though, so I kept them to myself. He had been making so many changes from his bachelor's life in San Diego. I had heard stories of former playboys finally falling in love and settling down.

  Mostly in fairytales, though.

They put the pancakes on the platter and slowly made their way over to the table. For a moment, I thought that maybe he planned on inviting Caley and me to follow him to San Diego. Then I realized there would be no way he’d even think of asking that of me. I’d made it very clear that Caley belonged in River Valley with her friends and family, even if it didn’t include Cam.

I was beginning to think I’d gotten myself in too deep with a wealthy sexy playboy. The sex was incredible, and our emotional connection only enhanced the physical part of our relationship.

Julianna, stop. Just enjoy the time in front of you.

That’s precisely what I tried to do as we all ate breakfast. Unfortunately, the idea of everything falling apart was becoming an even bigger fear for some reason.

“Jakey, can you pass the syrup?” Caley bounced around in her chair.

Jake held the syrup and gave her a look. “What do we say?”

Caley pouted and then looked up at Jake with her big, beautiful eyes. “Please?”

Jake laughed and then handed it to her before leaning over and kissing me on the lips. I put all the doubt on the back burner. I was happy, and that’s what mattered.

“You seem lost in thought,” he said, eating his pancakes.

“Just waking up,” I said, grabbing some pancakes for myself.

When Caley excused herself to go to the bathroom, Jake leaned into my ear. “I can see myself waking up here every day.”

I must have blushed from ear to ear, especially when he put his hand on my thigh and began to rub it.

“That would be wonderful,” I replied.

Jake began kissing my neck, and I rested my head on his, that is, until Caley returned.

  “Ugh,” she said. “That’s gross!”

Jake and I burst out laughing.

We spent our breakfast talking about Caley’s classes, what boys she had crushes on, and what we should do for our next day trip.

“Whatever we do,” she said in between bites of pancakes, “I hope it means going for ice cream, so I can make my favorite gummy worm dirt sundae!”

“You got it, kid.” Jake booped her nose, and I relaxed even more.

After what I went through with Cam, though, I would always be just a little insecure with Jake until I figured out his endgame.

  JAKE

Waking up next to Julianna made me happier than I’d been in a long time. It was nothing compared to the mornings where I’d roll over and see a one-night stand in my bed, snoring away with her makeup all over my expensive sheets. Even if Julianna had woken up with mascara all over her face, she’d still be beautiful.

I wanted to wake her up so she could get up with me, but I could tell that she needed the rest. Being a single mother was definitely hard, and I could tell that it was starting to wear her down.

“Caley got this recipe off of the internet,” I said to Julianna.

I noticed that she was a bit quieter than usual, and I couldn’t help but wonder if something was bothering her. I chalked it up to exhaustion.

“It’s delicious,” Julianna said talking around a mouthful of pancakes. “You are such a good cook.”

“Yeah,” Caley said matter of factly. “Maybe I’ll become a chef, Mommy!”

“Maybe you’ll have your own show on the Food Network,” I said.

“I’ll have a show where I make pancakes and my ice cream sundaes and pizza!” Caley had inherited her mother’s personality, which was both funny and adorable.

“Your mother and I used to cook together back in high school.”

“When?” Julianna gave me a puzzled look.

“You don’t remember? I came over to your place a bunch of times on Friday nights, and we’d make pizza and even homemade potato chips.”

“You can make potato chips?” Caley’s mouth fell open.

“Yes, Sweetie. They don’t just come in a bag.” Julianna explained, smiling at her daughter. “Well, maybe that’s where you get your passion for cooking, Caley.” Then she turned to me and giggled, “Oh, now I remember, Jake! But I was always stuck cleaning up while you ate.”

It was a beautiful day in River Valley and even more beautiful, waking up to the girls. I listened to Caley and her mom talk, and I pictured myself pushing her on the swings in the backyard.

Then I quickly snapped back to reality, though. After all, last night was the first night I’d slept over.

My gut let out a loud gurgle, causing Caley to laugh, and Julianna to open her mouth in shock. I simply shrugged my shoulders and laughed a little bit.

“What do you expect? I ate a lot of pancakes. Speaking of which, I’m gonna need to do extra crunches at the gym today.” I patted my stomach, and then Caley leaned back and patted hers too.

My phone went off, and I saw that I had a text message from work. As much as I enjoyed my job, I often felt as though I were chained to it. I hated that a perfectly good morning was just interrupted.

The message said that I was needed on a conference call sometime that day, so I messaged back, letting them know that I’d be on in a few hours.

“Is everything okay? Julianna could see the look of frustration on my face, which I wasn’t good at hiding.

“Yeah, I just have a conference call later." I was starting to worry about being in River Valley for so long, especially since I hadn’t planned on such an extended stay.

Even though I had been working remotely Monday through Friday out of Richard’s place, it had been a few months since I had actually visited my office in San Diego. I was pretty sure that didn’t look good on my part, even though it was my company. Hopefully, nobody knew that I was also dating Julianna. Not because I was ashamed, but because they might think that I was staying too long here in River Valley and lose respect for me for putting pleasure over business.

I stood up, gathered the plates, and started cleaning up. I kept telling myself that everything was fine, even though deep down, I was terrified. It wasn’t like me to be on a business trip for so long, so people at the office were probably talking about it.

Julianna took Caley upstairs to get ready for her day, and then I told her that I had to head back to Richard’s place.

“I’ll miss you. Don’t forget I have a showing tonight at the gallery, so I’ll be working late,” she said.

I wrapped my arms around Julianna, and we kissed for a few minutes. She leaned into me and moaned, knowing it was the kind of moan that would get me to stay. I had to ignore any arousal, though.

“I’ll miss you too, and will call later. I hope the showing is a success.” I pinched her butt and then headed out the door.

I thought about the night before all the way home. The sex we had was unlike anything I’d ever experienced before. I just couldn’t deny the energy between Julianna and me. The way our bodies came together as one, it was like we were made for each other.

As soon as I got back to the guest house, I took a quick shower to clear my mind and put on my business cap, so to speak. I knew I wouldn’t be able to think straight with images of wet, naked Julianna on my mind. After putting on some fresh clothes, I went into the office and started a conference call. I guzzled a glass of Alka Seltzer to calm my nervous stomach, too. I knew it wasn’t just the pancakes causing all of that commotion.

I’d been in River Valley too long.

“I’m here, everybody,” I said into the speakerphone.

“Good news,” one of my employees said. “The project you have been working on is almost completed as you know. But now they want to do an additional expansion, which means that we need you back in San Diego so we can go over their specifications.”

“Give me a date you need me back by,” I said into the phone.

There was a long pause, as though the staff was expecting me to just hop on a plane and fly back today. “Um, well, as soon as possible, sir. We really need you here before we can move forward.”r />
My heartfelt as though it dropped to my stomach. I knew this day was coming. I sat back in the office chair and closed my eyes, thinking about everything all at once. The thought of leaving Julianna and Caley ate at a part of me I didn’t even know I had until recently.

“Let me just check a few things in my calendar,” I lied into the phone.

There was nothing to check on my calendar. The only thing keeping me in River Valley, at this point, was Julianna and Caley.

My employees quietly chitchatted amongst themselves while I stared out the window. This new project was one of the most significant deals of my career and a relationship was holding me back. This wasn’t the man I’d worked so hard to become.

I thought about Julianna and all of the nights we’d spent together. It was the best sex I’d ever had in my entire life, and isn’t that what every man wanted? A successful career and mind-blowing, toe-curling sex? It wasn’t as though I couldn’t find other women just as good as Julianna back in San Diego... right?

Not in the bedroom, at least. I knew damn well that quality women like her were pretty rare in the city. Most of them were just after money.

Deep down, I knew that I had matured from my playboy, womanizing days. To be honest, the thought of creeping for chicks just made me feel gross inside. I knew that I’d rather spend all of my free time with Julianna and Caley, not having parties with women whose names I didn’t even know.

Yet, on the other hand, staying in River Valley would mean giving up everything I’d worked so hard for. “So, you’re saying that everything is ready to go in San Diego?”

“Yes, sir. And the sooner you come back, the better. We can’t move forward without you physically here.”

I tapped my pen against my forehead, thinking of what I should say. My company needed me, but I needed Julianna. More than I ever thought I would. Going into our relationship, I always knew that my feelings for her were more profound than what I’d had with other women.

“Well, that’s great. I mean, we’ve wanted this project for so long, and I certainly don’t want to hold it up any longer. This is great news for the company.” I had to swallow my emotions for the sake of my employees and business.
