I bite my lip, trying to hold in my smile, and lift my hips to help him out. In seconds I’m bare from the waist down, and he doesn’t even wait for me to sit up to take off my top. When I try, his hand flattens on my belly, holding me down. His other hand slides under my knee, bending my leg and moving it to the side. He kisses just below my belly button, and the feel of his warm lips against my bare skin has me falling back onto the pillows with a low moan of my own.

He scoots down, lining up his face with my pussy, his big hands holding my thighs apart. He kisses me twice, high up on each inner thigh, and then his tongue swipes up my center. A low hum of pleasure vibrates in his chest, and he does it again. “I want to taste you every day,” he whispers.

  Guh. “Me too.”

And then I can’t think or speak coherently, because his tongue is doing wicked things to me, the sensation taking up all the space in my brain. He starts slow, lapping at me, pausing between each lick, making me wonder when and where he’ll taste next. Long licks up the center. His pointed tongue fucking me, then sliding up to circle my clit. He draws out my pleasure, stretching it like taffy, building it like a crescendo. And when he finally sucks my clit into his mouth, flicking it with his tongue, I shriek in ecstasy, my whole body arching and convulsing so much he has to hold me in place for his continued assault.

I come so hard I see stars, my pussy pulsing, and my only regret is that there’s nothing filling it. I push at his head. “Stop. Stop,” I plead. “I want you inside me.”

He pulls away in a rush, and I whimper until I realize that he’s stripping off his clothes. I’d forgotten he was still dressed. I still have my top on. Sitting up, I whip it over my head. Just in time, too, because he’s stepping out of his jeans and boxer briefs, his eyes on me, his cock reaching out for me.

Picking up his jeans off the floor, he starts rifling through his pockets, pulling out his wallet and peering inside, tossing it down and heading for his suitcase.

I sit up, watching him. “Is something wrong?”

He digs through his suitcase, bent over, his tight ass facing me. “I can’t find any condoms.”

It takes a second for the meaning of his words to register, because I’m distracted by his body. But then I blink. “Oh.” Oh.

He straightens, slamming the lid of the suitcase. His face thunderous, he looks at me, naked and waiting for him on his bed. In three big steps, he’s back, his mouth on mine, the tang of me on his tongue as he pushes me back again. Propping himself on his arms, his cock grinding against my clit, he explores my mouth, building up my desire even higher.

“Are you on the pill?” he whispers against my lips. “Please say you’re on the pill. I’m clean, I swear to God.”

My breath seizes. I wish I could say yes, but … I shake my head. “No.”

He drops his head to my shoulder. A quiet, “Fuck,” escapes his lips. When he lifts his head, there’s a gleam in his eye and a tiny smile playing over his mouth. “What about …” He reaches one hand down, palming my ass.

I let out a bark of laughter, incredulous and surprised. “Anal? No. I’m not … no.”

  He lifts an eyebrow. “Never?”

Pinning him with a look, I purse my lips. “It would require a lot of convincing, and definitely not today.”

“Damn.” But the tiny smile is still there, letting me know he’s not upset, even if he is disappointed. That speculative look hasn’t gone away, though. “So you’d be open to being convinced?”

My eyes widen, and I shove at his shoulder. He laughs, collapsing on top of me and wrapping his arms around me, his dick still digging into my belly.

“God, I’ve missed you,” he whispers against my neck. “I’m going to have to get some condoms soon, though, because I can’t stand the thought of having you naked in my bed and not getting inside of you somehow.”

“There is a third option, you know.”

He smiles against my skin. “I know. Not quite the same, though.”

  “Agreed.”

I push at his shoulder again, and this time he rolls over at my urging, one arm still wrapped around me and pulling me close so that we’re lying like we were on my car earlier, but more comfortable and not freezing. Snuggling into him, I let one hand move over his torso, reacquainting myself with its contours. I love being close to him like this, naked and unashamed. The hair sprinkling his pecs tickles my hand, and he hisses when I circle his nipple with one finger, making it stand at attention then scraping my fingernail over it lightly. My hand moves lower, over the smooth skin of his abdomen, stroking the silky happy trail that starts at his belly button. His abs tighten under my hand as I move closer and closer to my target.

I start gently, trailing my fingertips up and down his shaft, swiping my thumb across the crown. Then I grip him firmly in my hand, squeezing and sliding up and down. He lets out a grunt of pleasure, his hips pressing up, seeking more stimulation.

Not up to teasing or playing games after the night we’ve had so far, I sit up and scoot down the bed, bending over to swirl my tongue over his cock head, tasting him.

“Shit, Lauren,” he says, his voice harsh.

  And that’s my cue.

  Chapter Nine

  Brendan

The frustration of not having a condom is lost as Lauren’s head dives, taking me as deep in her mouth as she can manage. She pulls back a little, her cheeks hollowing as she sucks hard, her tongue making slow circles around my dick.

  Warm, wet heaven.

Her auburn hair falls over her shoulder, tickling my legs. She’s pulled it all to one side so it’s not blocking my view. The visual combined with the tight ring of her lips and the grip of her hand where her mouth can’t reach is enough that I’m almost blowing my load in a matter of seconds. I’m already primed from going down on her, her sexy moans, the way she clawed at me, her cry when she came. The way she begged me to get inside her.

  Fuuuuuck.

This girl is perfection dipped in sin.

It killed me to pull away long enough to undress and find a condom. And then when I couldn’t find a condom … I almost got dressed and broke into Colt’s room. He’s the most likely to have a stash.

But then Lauren was sitting there, and I couldn’t leave just yet.

  And now …

Fuck, now I’m not going to last, no matter how much I try to distract myself with thoughts of frustrated condom searches and my annoying little brother.

She’s pumping harder, her head bobbing, her hair swishing, and I press up with my hips, unable to stop myself. Her tongue, her mouth …

She blew me once before, but I didn’t finish in her mouth. We had condoms then. But this has been one of the fantasies I’ve been playing through my head in our months apart. One of the memories I’d relived over and over, sometimes embellishing it with my imagination, placing us in my shower, or at her place instead of the hotel where it really happened. Coming on her tits, watching her scoop it up and swallow.

But this is better than any memory. Better than any fantasy. The reality of the tiny furrow between her brows as she concentrates on pleasuring me, the curve of her naked body bent over mine. It’s real. And it’s now. And she’s mine.

I’m not letting her go. Ever.

Fuck. I’m almost there. My balls draw up tight against my body, and the telltale tingle starts in the base of my spine. The head of my dick swells in her mouth. She sucks harder, her hand jacking faster.

“Fuck, Lauren. Fuck. I’m gonna—” I can’t even finish the sentence. My hips jerk, pushing deep into her mouth. She pulls her head back, staying with me, sucking hard as I spasm and pulse. Her hand keeps moving, though she slows down, milking every last drop and swallowing it down, until every movement, every swipe of her tongue makes my whole body jump from oversensitivity.

I slide my hand down the curve of her spine, pulling in a harsh breath as she sucks again. “Jesus, Lauren. Stop. Please. I can’t …”

  She gives one last su
ck before releasing me, sitting up and wiping a hand under her lower lip and gently laying my dick on my twitching abdomen. “Was that good?”

I let out a harsh laugh. “Yeah. You could say so.” She grins at me, and I catch her arm and tug her to my side. When she’s settled, we both sigh, a satisfaction that I haven’t felt in months settling over me.

Lauren’s breathing evens out, and I wonder if she’s gone to sleep. But just as I’m contemplating turning off the light, her soft voice asks, “How long are you going to be here for?”

I swallow against the lump that’s suddenly formed in my throat. Despite the lack of censure in her voice, I know she hates the idea of us being apart. She said as much in the car. I hate it too. But I don’t see any way around it at this point.

I clear my throat. “Just tonight. We only stopped for Gabby to spend the evening with you and Charlie.”

She snorts. “Clearly that worked out well.”

“I’d say so.” Ignoring her sarcasm, I squeeze her a little tighter. Gabby can stop by and see her again some other time. This is far more important in my opinion.

Her snort turns into a giggle, and she sits up. “You have quite a high opinion of yourself.”

I grin widely. “For good reason. Besides, I haven’t heard any complaints from you.”

She returns my smile. “True. Except for the no condom thing. Though I guess I should be glad, because if you had them that means you’d be expecting to score on this trip. And since you didn’t know you’d see me until a couple hours ago …”

“You like the idea of me being celibate?”

She arches into my touch as I run my hand up and down her back. “No. I like the idea of you being mine.”

Lauren giggles and protests when I call down to the concierge to get condoms, scandalized by the idea of sending someone on that kind of errand.

I shrug, glancing at her. “They probably go on tampon runs a lot too. My guess is they have a stash in-house. Didn’t you notice the sign that says to call down if you forgot any essentials?”

Her eyes bulge, and she covers her mouth. “I’m pretty sure that’s like a toothbrush or a razor. Not sex supplies!”

I shrug again. I’m sure it’s not the most outrageous request they’ve ever heard. And her complaints die when I pin her against the wall, both of us protected by the condom sent up by the concierge, and fuck all protests out of her.

The next morning, she’s subdued as she dresses after our shower, pulling on her discarded clothes from the day before. “You know,” she muses, “I haven’t done the walk of shame in ages.”

“No shame in this.” I stop dressing with my jeans undone. Stepping closer, I pull her against me and drop a kiss on her lips, brushing her hair back from her face. “This is good, this thing between us. You and I both know it. We’re not some tawdry hookup where you stumble home the next morning, hungover and barely remembering what happened. I might have to go do a couple shows with my brothers, but I’m not leaving forever. Not this time.”

Her brown eyes turn liquid at my words, her face open and defenseless. “Okay.”

I kiss her again, taking my time, needing to show her how much she matters to me. But I force myself to not get too carried away. I have a schedule for today, after all. Jonathan’s already texted to make sure I’m not going to make everyone late by holding up the plane.

With one last brush of my lips against hers, I step back, adjusting my half-hard dick before zipping and buttoning my jeans. “We’ll resume this the next time I see you.”

  “When will that be?”

I can already see her shutters closing up. She hates that I’m leaving. Fuck, I hate that I’m leaving. Especially without a set return date.

I stop, my shirt in my hands, forcing myself to meet her eyes. “I don’t know yet. But soon. I’ll call you tonight, okay? We’ll work out our schedules. I promise.”

She studies my face for a long moment. “Okay.”

It’s not much, that one tiny word, but it feels like everything. She’s trusting me to follow through. To not fuck it up this time. And I’m determined to prove her right.

  Chapter Ten

  Lauren

Coming home to my empty house is … disappointing.

Not that I expected anyone to be here, it’s still a let down after last night. There’s a note from Charlie demanding I call and dish as soon as I’m available. She didn’t text because she didn’t want to interrupt.

Gabby had no such reservations. I’d put my phone on Do Not Disturb so I could ignore her texts at regular intervals asking where I was, when I’d be back, and pouting at me for bailing on girls’ night.

  Ha.

Like she really cared. She was all snuggled up on the couch with Jonathan when Brendan and I left, making everyone else uncomfortable with their gag-worthy newlywed lovefest.

I sent a message last night letting her know I was fine and wouldn’t be coming home, but didn’t bother responding to anything after that. So I flop down on the couch and pull out my phone to text her back.

Made it home. Hope you have a good flight.

She responds immediately. You know you better tell me more than that.

I laugh softly to myself, kicking off my shoes and slouching down into the couch. I spent the night with Brendan. You really want all the dirty details?

The three dots flash on my screen for a long time before her response appears. Kinda. But also no. Although you had to overhear a lot between Jonathan and me, so it’d only be fair.

Grinning, I text back. It would be fair, but I don’t want to subject you to what I went through.

She responds with laughing face emojis. Seriously, though. When did that start? What is going on?

And that’s the million dollar question. Taking a deep breath, I go for spare honesty. This isn’t material for a text conversation. After your wedding. Brendan and I drove to New York City so I could skate at Rockefeller Center. We’ve talked a couple times since then, but this is the first time we’ve been together since before Christmas. It glosses over the fact that he was here after my recital, but again, not a detail she needs to know right now.

What?!?!?!?!?! How did I not know about this?

Before I can answer, my phone rings, Gabby’s smiling face appearing on my screen. Hitting the green button, I bring the phone to my ear. “Calm down.”

“I will not calm down.” Her voice is hushed and fierce, like she’s trying not to scream at me. Whether it’s out of courtesy to me or because she doesn’t want to be overheard, I don’t know.

  I sigh. “Gabby, look—”

“No, you look,” she cuts in. “Why didn’t you tell me?” The question is plaintive, broadcasting the hurt that’s behind her reaction.

Pinching the bridge of my nose between my fingertips, I press my lips together, trying to come up with a good explanation. “There wasn’t anything to tell,” I manage at last.

Her derisive snort eloquently expresses her opinion of that statement. “You went on a cross country road trip with my brother-in-law and there’s nothing to tell? Somehow I highly doubt that.”

I sigh again. “Okay, fine. It was … amazing. Life-altering. Nothing I ever expected. Brendan is a great guy …”

“But?” she prompts when I trail off.

Clearing my throat, I make myself continue, finding it hard to talk about this after keeping it under wraps for so long. “But there was no way anything could last between us. So we decided to have a fling on the trip and go our separate ways when it ended.”

  “Aaand?”

“Aaand my parents made me come home early, so things didn’t get to run their natural course. What was supposed to be a clean break, turned out to be painful. For both of us.” I shake my head. “I didn’t know he was going to show up last night. He said it was his brothers’ idea, but he clearly didn’t object.”

She’s quiet a moment, processing that. “So what now?”

  Yeah … what now?
/>   “He wants to give a real relationship a shot.”

Silence greets my statement. And then Gabby lets out an ear-splitting shriek so loud I have to pull the phone away from my ear. “Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod!”

I stare at my phone, wondering if I should put it on speaker, but I don’t bother, because she’s so loud I can hear her anyway. Holding it up to my mouth, I wait for her to calm down enough for me to speak.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” she shrieks.

I open my mouth to answer, a puzzled frown pulling my brows together because we just covered this, but then I hear voices in the background. Male voices. And I realize that question wasn’t intended for me.

  “Gabby? Gabby!”

  “Hang on.”

“No. No, I will not hang on. Are you with Brendan? Is he there with you right now?” Oh lordy, this is not at all how I thought this would go.

  Gabby ignores me.

“Fine, Gabby. I’m hanging up now, since you’re obviously done talking to me.”

“What? No. Don’t you dare hang up on me right now. We are not done talking about this.”

I roll my eyes. “Well, you’ve obviously got Brendan there to fill you in on all the details, so …”

“First of all, ew. I do not want my brother-in-law filling me in on any details, thankyouverymuch. You are my best friend. Not him.”

Brendan’s voice rumbles in the background. “I see how I rate. I’m hurt, Gabby. You wound me.”

“Whatever,” she says to him. “Lauren.” She’s narrowing her eyes at me right now. Even though I can’t see it, I’ve heard that tone often enough to know the facial expression that goes with it. “We are scheduling another girls’ night. Very soon. Very soon. I’ll check with Jonathan to find out when we have a long enough break, maybe move some things around. Make sure to keep your schedule flexible the next couple of weeks. Because I’m coming back.”

Another low voice interrupts her, but I can’t make out what it’s saying. Then Gabby’s voice turns gleeful and speculative. “Oooh, that’s an even better idea.”
