  About the Author

  Under the Mistletoe

When his daughter changed her mind about what she wanted Santa to bring, Drake spent Christmas Eve frantically searching for the hottest toy of the season. But the worst part of his day wasn’t the pushy shoppers. It was the single dad next door who tried to corner his wife under the mistletoe while he was out.

  Season’s Greetings!

I started watching holiday movies much earlier than usual this year, and between those and the gorgeous holiday covers that Elle Christensen (the other half of my Fiona Davenport brain) has been designing, I was inspired to revisit Drake & Lexi. They were the first couple I ever wrote a happily ever after for, and spending some time with them this holiday season was exactly what I needed. I hope reading this story will bring you the same joy that writing it did for me.

  Happy holidays,

Getting Tanner and Marie into bed was always an adventure. Drake usually took charge of our son since he tended to be more of a handful than our daughter. Sometimes it felt as though my baby boy was ten going on eighteen with the things he got up to, while our girl was one to follow the rules. I could only hope Marie stayed that way as she grew up, or else she'd drive her daddy up the wall with how protective he was of her.

"You know what, Mommy?" she asked as I tucked the blanket under her chin.

I loved our little chats when I put her to bed. She always had a story of some kind to share. "No, sweetie. What?"

"I changed my mind about what I want from Santa." Marie dropped her little bombshell as she snuggled into her pillow without a care in the world.

On the other hand, I was frantically hoping the new item at the top of her wish list was something we'd already bought for her. "What do you want?"

She let out a dreamy sigh before answering, "A Once Upon a Unicorn."

Of course, our daughter waited until less than two days before Christmas to decide she wanted one of the hottest toys of the season. We were doomed.

"You already gave Santa your list of what you wanted weeks ago, sweetie," I reminded her, trying not to freak out because I hated the idea of my sweet baby girl being disappointed on Christmas morning. "Christmas Eve is tomorrow. Santa might not have enough time to get you something different."

“Don’t be silly, Mommy.” Marie gently patted my cheek as she smiled up at me. “Santa can do anything with his magic.”

“Right,” I drawled, inwardly cringing while I pressed a kiss to her forehead. “But in the off chance that lots of other kids change their mind at the last minute too, go easy on Santa for not being able to make the change to your big present in time. Okay?”

“Uh-huh,” she murmured as she rolled over to snuggle deeper into her pillow.

I rubbed my palm up and down her back until she drifted off to sleep, and then I tiptoed out of her room. After shutting the door as gently as possible, I headed down the hall to the master bedroom. Drake was in the en suite bathroom getting ready for bed, and I paused to stare at his bare muscular back and tight butt covered by his boxer briefs. When he looked up from the sink, and our gazes met in the mirror’s reflection, I moved to the other side of the counter to grab my toothbrush. Spreading paste on the bristles, I muttered, “You’re not going to believe what your daughter told me before she fell asleep.”

Drake turned toward me and crossed his arms over his broad chest. “Why are they mine when they’ve done something wrong and yours when they act like little angels?”

“Because I never got into any trouble when I was younger.” I pointed my toothbrush at him, careful not to let any of the paste fall off. “That means if we’re getting payback for childhood antics, they’re all yours.”

“Fair point.” He flashed me a cocky grin that still made butterflies swirl in my belly all these years later. “I guess that means I’m the one heading out shopping tomorrow morning.”

”If only it were that simple,” I sighed with a shake of my head. “Once Upon a Unicorns have been sold out since before Thanksgiving. It would take a Christmas miracle for you to find one tomorrow.”

He got that determined gleam in his dark eyes that I’d seen many times before. “It’s my job to make sure all of Marie’s dreams come true, even the little ones.”

My heart melted at how resolved he was not to let our daughter down. “You’re such a good father to our babies.”

“Damn straight,” he agreed, moving behind me to press his chest against my back and wrap his arms around my body. He nibbled on my neck while I got ready for bed. Only by the time I was done, sleep was the last thing on my mind.

Turning in his hold, I rose on my toes to brush a kiss against his lips. “You’re a great husband, too.”

“Only great?” he teased, dropping his hands to my butt and pressing me against his hard-on. “That sounds like a challenge to me, baby.”

I tilted my head to the side and grinned up at him. “What kind of challenge?”

“The kind where I give you as many orgasms as it takes until you admit I’m the best husband ever.” His grip on my butt tightened, and he lifted me off my feet. I wrapped my legs around his waist and gripped his shoulders while he carried me over to our bed. “Since I’m the only one you’ll ever get, I need to make sure you’re one-hundred percent satisfied.”

I didn’t have any complaints about my husband, but I was more than willing to play along. Especially when he got all possessive and orgasms were at stake. “Do you have any ideas on how you’re going to do that?”

“A few.” He dropped me on the mattress and crawled over my body, his hands dipping in my pajama pants to cup between my legs. “Do you want me to spread you out and lick your sweet pussy until you scream my name into a pillow? Or maybe you’d prefer that I push my cock between your plump lips so you can swallow me down?”

Choosing between those options seemed impossible. “How about both?”

“Or I could pound you into the mattress so hard that you won’t be able to tell where your body ends and mine begins,” he suggested with a swivel of his hips, grinding his hard length against my core.

My panties went from damp to drenched. “Yes, please.”

“You like the sound of that, huh?” He nibbled along my jawline before yanking my shirt over my head and taking my comfy bra with it. “That’s good, baby. I’m dying to be inside you, so we’ll both get what we want.”

I squirmed out of my pajama pants while he shoved his boxers down his legs. When he pressed his naked body against mine, I let out a soft sigh of satisfaction. We’d been extra busy with holiday and kid stuff over the past week and hadn’t gotten as much time together as we normally did. There hadn’t been many opportunities for anything more than a quickie here and there, which we’d quickly learned to take advan
tage of since we became parents.

Drake wedged his arm between our bodies and circled my clit with his thumb. “Gotta make sure you’re ready for me.”

“Ready doesn't even begin to cover it,” I assured him as I widened my legs to give him better access. A low moan bubbled up my chest when he sank two fingers in me and twisted his wrist to rub against my G-spot. It never took much for my husband to turn me on, but I wasn’t alone in this.

Drake’s dark eyes filled with need and his cheeks flushed as his rock-hard dick pushed against my inner thigh. “You feel needy to me. Have I been neglecting you lately?”

“Never,” I gasped, twining my arms around his neck as he drove me closer to the edge with his fingers.

“Good,” he murmured against my lips before claiming them in a deep kiss. “Because no matter how busy we get, I never want to give you any reason to doubt how much I love you.”

Back when we’d first met, I wouldn’t have guessed what an amazing husband Drake would make. But thank goodness he’d been persistent, and my heart couldn’t resist his charm. Falling for him had been the best thing to ever happen to me. “You always find new ways to show me that I mean everything to you.”

“Like this?” he asked before pumping his wrist harder and sending me over the edge.

As I came down from my release, I panted, “That definitely wasn’t new. Even our first time together, you seemed to have an unerring sense for how to drive me wild.”

“Because you were meant to be mine.” He finally slid his cock through my slick folds, and I could hear exactly how wet I was. But I didn’t feel any embarrassment. There wasn’t room for it between the two of us. And if I had, the shame would have melted away when he lined himself up and slammed all the way inside me.

My head fell back against the pillow. “Drake!”

“So fucking tight,” he hissed as he pulled back.

I held his shoulders, my nails digging into his skin as he hammered in and out of my pussy over and over again. “Feels so good.”

“Perfection, like always,” he grunted, his hips picking up speed. Our bodies moved in unison as I met him thrust for thrust. He buried his head in my neck, and his breath was hot on my skin. “You like how my cock fills your pussy?”

“Uh-huh,” I whimpered, feeling as though I was suspended on a razor’s edge as my inner walls clenched against his hard length.

“Do you need to come?” he rasped in my ear, sending a shiver down my spine.

My hips lifted off the mattress to meet his. “God, yes.”

“Do it, baby. Flood my cock.” He punctuated his command with a shift in position that had his cock rubbing against my G-spot.

The extra stimulus was all I needed to fly apart. “Yes!”

“That’s it, baby. Come for me,” he urged as I convulsed around him. My body shuddered until he gentled his strokes, stiffening when his own orgasm washed over him. His cock throbbed as jets of come splashed against my walls until he filled my pussy. Then he rolled onto his side and gathered me into his arms. “I’m so fucking lucky.”

I cuddled into his chest and mumbled, “How come?”

“Because I get to do this every night.” He brushed a kiss against the top of my head and tightened his hold.

“Except tomorrow, most likely,” I reminded him, tilting my head back to smile up at him. “Because you’re going to have a heck of a time finding that Once Upon a Unicorn for Marie.”

  Drake

I had never been more right about anything than back when I was a senior in college and had first seen Lexi and knew she was meant to be mine. Each day we spent together over the past fifteen years was better than the last, and waking up with her in my arms was the perfect way to start the day. The only thing better would’ve been if I could wake her up with my mouth, fingers, or cock, but the sound of our daughter’s little feet pounding down the hallway toward our door ruled out that option.

It didn’t matter that I’d just been inside my wife before we fell asleep last night; nothing dimmed my need for her. I could take her a million times during our lifetime, and I’d still want more. Luckily, I’d learned long ago to slip on a pair of athletic shorts before I fell asleep. The loose material helped hide my hard-on a fuck of a lot more than my boxer briefs. I also shifted my dick closer to my thigh so it was less noticeable—and more difficult for Marie to kick when she climbed into bed with us like she always did.

I flipped the blanket over my lap seconds before the door flung open, and my little girl raced across the room to fling herself at me. “Daddy!”

Marie’s shriek had Lexi stirring next to me, and I sighed as I lifted our daughter over my legs. “Now you've done it.”

“Done what, Daddy?” She stared up at me and tilted her head to the side.

I tugged on a long, dark lock of her hair. “You woke up Mommy.”

Marie twisted around and grinned when Lexi snuggled deeper into her pillow. “Nuh-uh, her eyes are still closed. See.”

“Hmm. It looks like you’re right.” I tapped my finger against my chin before stretching my arm out to press a button on the side of my cell phone. When the screen lit up, I suggested, “Maybe we should tickle her just to be sure since we need to get breakfast started soon?”

My daughter’s brown eyes widened before she nodded and dug her fingers into Lexi’s side. I leaned over her to join in on the fun, and it only took maybe a minute for my wife’s laughter to fill the room. “Okay, okay! Stop tickling me. I’m up.”

I backed off, but Marie didn’t let up until Lexi started tickling her back. Giggling so hard that she could barely speak, she gasped, “Help me, Daddy.”

“No fair,” Lexi cried when I lifted our daughter out of her reach. “You guys started it.”

“I know you want your revenge for the tickle wake-up call, but we don’t have time. We have lots of stuff to do today.” I set Marie on the floor before twisting around so I could brush my lips across Lexi’s forehead. “Maybe you’ve heard; Christmas is tomorrow.”

“Yeah, Santa is coming tonight.” Marie did a little dance, wiggling her butt and waving her arms in the air to music only she could hear in her head.

“I bet he’s the only person in the whole wide world who’s busier than Mommy and Daddy today,” Lexi teased as she slid off the mattress and circled the bed to kneel in front of Marie. “Especially when little girls change their mind at the last minute about what they want most for Christmas.”

Our daughter shrugged and flashed her mom a wide grin. “Santa’s gonna use his magic for my Once Upon a Unicorn. ’Member, Mommy?”

“Yup, he sure is.” Lexi looked my way and widened her eyes, a mischievous gleam filling the brown orbs. “Isn’t that right, Daddy?”

“That’s what I’ve heard,” I grumbled, not looking forward to hitting up a toy store on Christmas Eve with everyone who’d put off their shopping until the last minute. Unfortunately, I needed to make sure Santa didn’t disappoint my little girl, but I didn’t have a way to make the perfect gift magically appear under our tree for her.

“It’s a good thing we have plenty of delicious cookies to set out for him as a thank you when he climbs down our chimney tonight.” Lexi nudged Marie toward the door. “And you ate enough of them for dessert last night that you’d better brush your teeth super good again this morning.”

“I always do,” Marie huffed as she stomped out of our room.

Lexi laughed and nodded. “Uh-huh, sure you do.”

I climbed out of bed and headed into our bathroom while she followed our daughter down the hallway, knocking on Tanner’s door as she passed it. “Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey.”

“That’s just cruel.” I chuckled and shook my head, knowing how cranky my oldest would be about being woken up when he didn’t have school today. Our boy wasn’t a morning person, and no amount of breakfast was going to make him happy about getting up earlier than he wanted.

By the time I headed down
stairs after my shower, the kids were at the kitchen table and Lexi was sliding a pancake on top of a large stack already on a serving plate. I headed over to the fridge to grab the maple syrup and butter and then set them on the center of the table next to a big bowl of cut-up strawberries that was already half empty. “Good morning.”

Tanner muttered something about how early it was under his breath, planting his elbow on the table and propping his chin up by the palm of his hand. His eyes were barely open, and his hair was mussed. I ruffled his dark locks. “Hang in there, buddy. At least you’ll head to bed early tonight since it’s Christmas Eve.”

His eyelids lifted, and he glared at me. “That’s not much help, Dad. It’s a holiday. I don’t know why I had to get up early in the first place.”

“Because your dad has some errands to run this morning, so I’m going to need your and Marie’s help with a couple of things,” Lexi explained as she placed three pancakes on the plate in front of him.

“Yay! I get to help,” Marie cheered while Lexi gave her a pancake and started to cut it up.

“Yippee ki yay,” Tanner mumbled, making his mom and me laugh. He’d kicked up a fuss last night about being forced to watch another holiday movie with us after his sister went to bed, but here he was quoting the damn thing back to us.

Lexi raised her brows and pointed a butter knife at him. “It’s good that you didn’t repeat the last part of that quote or else you’d never be able to watch anything rated higher than PG for another six to eight years.”

Tanner rolled his eyes. “I know better than to use a swear word with Marie at the table.”
