“You look nice,” I said as he stared at me.

He grinned. “You liked the car?”

“Yeah, and the champagne. Thanks babe,” I said.

“I got you. What you drinking? Come,” he said then turned and walked over to the middle of the VIP section where he had a table loaded with bottles of liquor.

“Um... a vodka cranberry is fine,” I said, looking at all the options.

“Yo,” he said to one of the girls who were hanging around his table. She looked at him all smiles.

“Make my girl a drink,” he said and nodded toward me.

Her face fell as she looked at me, and then she put on a fake smile. I watched her as she poured me a glass of Cîroc and cranberry juice. She handed it to me with a forced smile.

As I sipped it, the liquor quickly started going to my head. City was up in my face again, and I almost forgot to breathe.

“I’m glad you came through. I been thinkin’ about you,” he said. His smell, and the music all around us had every nerve in my body on edge.

“What you been thinking?” I teased him.

He chuckled. “You a dope ass chick, and I missed your ass.”

“You know I like you too,” I said while running my fingers down his arm. He stared down at me like I was the only woman in this whole place.

“I know. You wouldn’t be here with me if I didn’t feel like we could be good for each other,” he said, and I felt like he was being real with me.

  I nodded. “I know.”

“Aye!” I heard someone say behind City, and I peeked around him to see what was going on.

His friend Guwop was standing on a table dressed in a Gucci sweater, jeans, and boots. His dreads were falling down his shoulders like a waterfall, and he was holding up a bottle of Louis XIII.

“Let me get y’all attention real quick!” he said to everyone who was partying in VIP.

City turned to look at him while grinning.

“We out here tonight to celebrate my nigga, City, who been killin’ the motherfuckin’ game with City Ink,” he said as people started hollerin’. “I want to do a toast to my nigga, man. This man been my brother since I can remember, and I’d fuck a nigga up for him. We comin’ hard the next three years, so fuck what you heard. We the best out here, and don’t forget that shit. Raise your fuckin’ glass and have a drink while we get fucked up out here celebratin’ black excellence, nigga!”

I burst out laughing as he took a swig out of the bottle then poured it into four bitches’ mouths who were standing below him and waiting with their mouths open.

“My nigga,” City said when Guwop jumped off the table and came over to give him a hug.

“Aye, this Bo right here,” City said and turned to me.

“What’s good, shorty?” Guwop asked me.

He was dark skinned and handsome, and his teeth gleamed in the dark club. He looked like money too, and I could tell the two of them had a bond.

“Good. Nice toast,” I said and giggled.

He chuckled. “This my dog right here, man. Ten plus years,” he said.

Their friendship made me think about me and Sade, and I glanced at my phone to see if she texted me. When I looked up, City was looking at me.

“My friend is coming, so I was just checking to see if she was here,” I explained.

He put his hands up in fake surrender. “You ain’t gotta explain shit to me. I was just lookin’ at you cuz you so fuckin’ beautiful.”

I felt warm all over when he said that to me.

“Hold this,” Guwop said, interrupting our moment, and he handed us two shot glasses of dark liquor.

“Nigga, this bet not be from the bottle you just had your lips on, bruh,” City said and scrunched up his face as he looked at the glasses like he didn’t want to touch them.

“Nigga, shut up. This a new bottle,” Guwop said and laughed loudly.

“Aight, man, cuz I don’t know which bitch your mouth been on,” City said and reached for the shot glass. I reached for the other one.

“To a good fuckin night,” Guwop said and laughed then we all downed the shot. It burned like a motherfucker, and I instantly began to cough.

“The fuck was that?” I asked as I beat on my chest, I swore I was about to die.

“Man up,” Guwop said and laughed at me. City chuckled.

“You gotta be easy with her. She ain’t ready for what we come with,” he said.

I rolled my eyes at him.

Just then, the DJ started playing “Drip Too Hard” by Lil Baby. Grabbing City’s hand, I pulled him toward me and started dancing on him. I was the happiest I’d been in a minute being around City and his energy. Everyone around us were turning up, but I felt like we were in our own world. He started kissing on my neck with his hands on my hips, and a waterfall erupted in my panties. I couldn’t help myself. I was falling for this man, and I couldn’t do much to slow it down.

I felt my Chanel bag vibrate after a few minutes, and I opened it to see that I had a text from Sade.

Sade: Almost there. Where do I go?

Turning to City, I stretched up on my toes so he could hear me over the music.

“Sade is here. I’m gonna go down to get her in,” I said.

  He nodded.

“Just tell ’em she’s with you and me,” he said, and I smiled.

  “Okay.”

Walking down from VIP, I made my way back to that front entrance I came in when I first arrived. I walked past a main level bathroom and hesitated. Sade wasn’t there yet, so I figured I could stop in for a second and take care of business before she pulled up.

I popped into the bathroom, and thankfully, it wasn’t full, so I slid into a stall. Finishing up using the toilet, I made my way out of the stall but stopped when I saw someone I recognized. My mouth fell open when I realized exactly what I was looking at.

Sure enough, right in front of my face was Dontrell’s little pregnant side chick, Nichole, and some other girl standing by the bathroom sink. But Nichole was dead ass bent over with a rolled-up dollar bill snorting a line of coke from the countertop. I stepped back quickly before she could see me and fished in my purse for my phone. Quickly, I went to Snapchat and stepped forward again so I could see her. She was on her second line now, and I videotaped her pulling the white powder into her nose. Her face was visible, and it was no denying that it was her.

When I got her finishing that line, I saved the video and pushed my phone back into my purse. As I walked out the stall, she saw me and stood up straight. She wiped her nose all quick and turned her face up at me.

I looked her up and down but didn’t acknowledge her as I washed my hand and reached into my bag to re-apply my lipstick.

“I might leave soon and go over to Dontrell’s. He just texted me how much he missed me,” Nichole said to her little friend who was smirking at me like she had something to say.

“Go get that dick, girl. You know that nigga loooooves you,” the hoe said.

Nichole laughed and looked in the mirror dead at me.

I put away my makeup and turned to her.

“As soon as you drop that baby, get at me, bitch. I don’t fight pregnant hoes, but I will drag you across the state as soon as your loose pussy spits out that nigga’s kid. Don’t think I’m scared to knock your face in. You disrespectful as fuck snorting white with that nigga’s seed in you. But the fuck do I care? Do you bitch,” I said.

Her eyes got wide as soon as I said that, and she didn’t say anything back.

I turned to get around her friend who stepped to the side, so I could pass. As I left the bathroom, I went to my Snapchat and sent the video in a message to Dontrell with the caption Ain’t this your baby mom?

Smiling to myself, I made my way back to the front of the building for Sade. But it seemed like all the bottom level hoes had come out to play tonight. As I walked toward the front, I saw Gisselle arguing with the security as she tried to get up into VIP.

  “
But I know him,” she said all loud and angry.

“I don’t have authority to let you up,” he said to her.

I stopped to watch her make a whole scene.

“But you know me. You’ve let me up a lot of times in the past,” she said.

“You were with City,” he said and shrugged.

“Okay, and he’s still fucking with me, so what the fuck?” she said angrily.

When she said that, I felt myself getting hot.

“He needs to be the one to tell me that,” the security said.

She turned away all dramatic and saw me watching her. Narrowing her eyes, she walked over to me. She was wearing a dress that looked like it was painted on, and her hair was dark brown and flowing in waves down her shoulders.

“Count your days, girl. City still wants me. Don’t ever think he won’t come running back to me. You might think you have him now, but trust me, he still hits me up wanting this pussy. So, if you know what’s good for you, you would bow out now before he breaks your heart,” she said.

Before I got a chance to say anything back she turned and walked away. But I was heated. I didn’t know if I could believe the things she was saying or not. Either way, I knew I didn’t like the way I felt right now.

I turned to walk to the entrance where I saw Sade talking to security.

“She’s with me,” I said to the host who walked me in a little while ago.

Sade looked beautiful in a cropped blouse and pants that sat neatly on her hips. She had the smallest waist and flattest tummy that I’d ever seen.

“You look even better in person!” she said and hugging me all excited.

“You look pretty, sis,” I said while hugging her back.

“What’s wrong?” she asked holding me at arm’s length.

“Nothing,” I said, waving Gisselle’s words off. I would deal with that later. “Let’s go upstairs and get some drinks.”

She grabbed my hand, and we walked back up to VIP. I wasn’t trying to dwell on the shit Gisselle said, but if City was still fucking with her, I needed to be the furthest thing from his mind.

  City

My anniversary party was lit, and I was feeling nice. Looking around at all the people around me turning up and having a good time, I was happy that I’d decided to put this shit together. Marcus was missing, which was weird as fuck because this party was his idea in the first place, but he’d been moving weird around me since I told him to fall back off Bo the other day. If he didn’t want to show up, that was his prerogative.

I went by the balcony that overlooked the dancefloor and watched the people dancing and vibin’ below me. It was crazy to me that all these people were there because they loved City Ink or me. Three years ago, this business was a dream. Three years ago, my IG page had ’bout ten followers, but I knew what I wanted to do, and I was the type of nigga who did whatever I needed to do to make shit happen. Looking around me now, I felt blessed as fuck.

“I’m proud of you, man,” I heard someone say beside me.

I looked to my right to see Guwop standing by me grinning.

“Thanks, my nigga. This shit is still surreal to me sometimes,” I said.

He nodded. “I feel you. But you deserve it. You put in time and effort, so you deserve to shit on the competition. You see anybody else with a following like you? Nah, they all simps,” he said and chuckled.

I knew he was talking about my brother, and I chuckled too. I wasn’t even thinkin’ about that nigga. Tonight was all about me and my dynasty.

“Hey, babe,” someone said to my left, and I looked down to see one of the little hoes who had been hanging around up here earlier.

Bitch was built like a bag of pennies, though. Her dress was too tight for her body shape. Ain’t no way she should’ve left the house like that. She’d been eyeing me all night, and I guess since she saw Bo step out, she was trying to shoot her shot. Matter fact, I wasn’t even sure how she got into VIP. She must’ve come up with a pack of bad bitches and got lost in the mix.

She ran her hands up my back and let it rest on my arm as she looked at me all slyly. “Congrats on your third year. You killin’ the game out here. What you getting into later?”

“Not you,” I said and pushed her hand off my arm. “Why you bitches always feel like you can walk up on a nigga and start touchin’? I don’t like people in my space, man.”

Everybody knew that shit about me. Don’t fuckin’ touch me unless I know you or you ask permission. I’d always been like that.

She started pouting but then smiled at me and put her hands by her side. “Sorry, babe, I couldn’t help it. I’m here for you if you need me. I promise it will be worth your while.”

I turned away from her annoyed. I couldn’t understand how a female could be so forward that she would run up on a nigga who was obviously out with his girl and try to throw her pussy in his lap.

“You not my type, so move along, and enjoy your night, shorty,” I said without looking back at her.

“Why, because I’m a big girl? You’re such an asshole,” she said to me with a whole attitude.

That made me lose all the patience I had for her school bus looking ass.

“Bitch, ain’t nobody said nothin’ ’bout you being big. I’ve seen a bunch of big girls that are sexy as fuck. You ain’t one of them. You built backwards with your ass in the front of you. And you need to wear your size shoes. Your pinky toe on a suicide mission ’bout ready to take a dive off them bitches. Why you ain’t look in the mirror before you left your crib, shorty? Matter fact, security,” I said turning to one of the niggas posted up in all black. “Take this one downstairs and out my face. She needs to go home and start the fuck over.”

She looked up at me in shock as security came by to take her away. It didn’t take much to make me go off, but I was really trying tonight. Bitch made it too damn easy, though.

Guwop was beside me laughing his ass off.

“Nigga, you wild,” he said as he sipped from the bottle of Louis he was still holding on to.

I shook my head as homegirl’s curses got less and less as security walked her out. The girls she came up there with didn’t even go with her.

“She was doin’ too much, man,” I said. “Anyway, what’s the deal with this job with the classics?”

Guwop nodded as he took another swig. That bottle was $10,000, and he was drinking from it like it was a regular ass Corona. But he’d always been extra, so I wouldn’t have expected anything less.

“We all good,” he said. “I secured a warehouse up in North east Georgia outside of Savannah. We gonna drive the cars over there then break them down. The plan is to intercept the truck before it gets to Atlanta. I got two big semi’s we gonna use to pull up on the truck that’s transporting the cars, and after we jack the cars, we drive them into the back of our trucks. I got enough men to drive the cars into our trucks, and me and you will drive the semi’s to the warehouse. Boom, the whole process shouldn’t take more than forty-eight hours. I already got buyers lined up, nigga.”

I nodded as he explained the plan to me. I still wasn’t sure how I felt about it, but it sounded solid enough. So, if G was good with it, I would ride.

“Aight, cool,” I said and drank from my glass. “And Lucas gonna be on this job too, right?”

“Yeah, he in on it. He comin’ too,” Guwop said. “It’s not a set-up. I know that’s what you thinking. If it was, he wouldn’t be coming too.”

“Yeah, I guess you right. You know I’m still gonna have my eye on the nigga, though,” I said.

  Guwop chuckled. “I know.”

I looked to my right behind Guwop and saw Bo coming back up the steps to VIP. She had her friend with her, and they both looked good as fuck. I swear they were the best looking girls up there by a mile.

“Oh shit,” Guwop said and turned to stare at Bo’s friend. “Who is that with your girl?”

Bo walked up to me and planted a kiss on my li
ps. I palmed her ass as I kissed her back, and she giggled.

“Babe, this is my friend, Sade. Sade, this is City,” she said and turned back to her friend.

Sade stepped up and extended her hand to me all extra polite. She was about the same height as Bo and close to the same build. She looked nervous, though.

“What’s good? Nice to meet you,” I said and shook her hand.

“I heard a lot about you. Nice to meet you too,” she said.

Guwop cleared his throat extra loud, and we all turned to look at him.

“Nigga, you stupid,” I said laughing at his ass.

“Sade, this is City’s friend, Guwop,” Bo said.

Guwop stepped up toward Sade, who was looking at him all curiously.

“You look real nice tonight. You want a drink or something?” he said and reached for Sade’s hand.

She glanced at Bo, who shrugged, but then she laughed.

“Um… yeah, okay. I’ll have a rum and coke,” she said.

“I got you,” he said and pulled her with him toward the bar. She looked back at Bo, who waved bye to her.

“Your friend don’t need to be scared of G. He’s good people,” I said as Bo stepped closer to me and wrapped her arms around my waist.

“I know,” she said and leaned up to kiss me on the cheek. “She’s real reserved, though, so she just needs to warm up to him, is all.”

“Like how you warmed up to me?” I teased her.

“Something like that,” she said and stuck her tongue out.

I laughed at her silly ass and looked back down at the main floor.

“I should go down there and make sure people are good and show my face for a minute,” I said and kissed the top of her head. “Go chill with your girl and G. I’ll be back.”

  “Okay, babe,” she said.

I leaned down to kiss her, and my dick jumped. I was getting that pussy tonight. Every time I looked at Bo tonight I wanted to leave and dive in head first.
