Something Honorable (Dirty Southern Secrets Book 2)

by J. L. Leslie

I move to climb over him, doing as he says. “I thought I was tasting you.”

Tauren gazes up at me, a playful smile on his lips. “You will.” He pushes me forward so that I’m lying on his chest, his penis right at my face. “We can taste each other.”

I gulp when his mouth closes over me. How am I supposed to concentrate when he’s doing that? Nonetheless, I wrap my fingers around him and lower my head. I’m inexperienced, having never done this before, but I follow my instinct.

Having my husband’s mouth on my most intimate parts and mine on his is intense, the pleasure overwhelming. We may have disconnected from each other for a bit, but we never truly lost each other.

I revel in that thought, and although I might not be his first, I will certainly be his last. We have fought for each other, overcome every obstacle in our way, and we are still standing strong together. We didn’t take the coward’s way out.

It doesn’t get more honorable than that.

  Epilogue

  Tauren

I begin the last lap in second place, which pisses me the fuck off. I won the heat but couldn’t hold first. Deputy Moulder took first place three laps ago, and I’ve been rubbing his bumper ever since.

I come into the last turn, and Moulder goes to the inside, which is his style. I punch it, going to the outside toward the wall. He drifts toward me, obviously desperate to put me into the wall. I keep gunning it, waiting for him as he gets closer and closer.

When he’s almost to me, I hit the brakes. The front of his car turns in front of mine, and I gas it, watching his car go sideways into a spin. I don’t let up, going around his spinning car, and taking the checkered flag without looking back.

I slow my car to a stop and climb out of my car. Elation hits me and not only because I won, but because my wife is running toward me. Helene flings herself at me, and I catch her, spinning with her in my arms.

“You won!” she shrieks. “I was scared for you, but excited, but very scared!”

Her excitement is fucking adorable. She’s never seen me race. Not even once. I know this is the first of many. We’re spending our lives together, and racing is a big part of mine.

“How should we celebrate?” I ask her.

“I could buy you a drink at Happy’s,” she offers.

“A drink isn’t what I had in mind, Wife,” I grin, and she giggles.

Just last week, I feared I would never hear that sound again. There was so much distance between us we could have been living on different planets.

But the space between us is now closed. We are behaving like newlyweds should. The miscarriage we suffered has not been forgotten, not even close. Neither of us will ever forget our unborn child. We will always have dreams of what she would have become. We will always miss her.

But instead of shutting each other out, we started letting each other in. We haven’t looked back. We keep moving forward, putting one foot in front of the other.

Helene got a tattoo, the date of the miscarriage, on her shoulder. I did the same. We both have her etched on our skin, in our memory.

“Hmm, what did you have in mind, Husband?”

I whisper in her ear, telling her how I want her writhing beneath me. My mouth on her nipples. My cock inside her dripping pussy. Helene blushes because no matter how often I talk dirty to her, she always blushes.

“What if I would rather take you in my mouth, suck on you until you come, and then you can sit back and watch me touch myself?” Helene counters and I growl, my dick growing rock hard.

“Let’s get the fuck out of here.”

She smiles, and I pick her up. I put her in my car, and she climbs over to the passenger seat. I get in and wave to the crowd as I drive off.

The old me would have stayed behind to celebrate, partied with the crowd, and gotten drunk to show off to everyone that I was number one. I’m not that man any longer.

  I am a happily married, one-woman man.

One day, I’ll be a daddy.

But I will always be a one-woman man.

Day twenty of being a newlywed.

  Couldn’t be happier.

  Helene

“Tell me again how come you didn’t choose rodeo as your hobby?” I tease Tauren, nudging his side.

“I like fast cars, not bucking bulls,” he smarts, rolling his eyes.

Racing season is far from over, but the rodeo season is only beginning, and we are all here to see how Kipton does for the pro-rodeo qualifiers. If he does well, he plans to take a sabbatical from his job and focus only on rodeo. See if he can make a serious career out of it.

“The chaps, the cowboy hat, the boots,” I muse. “I think you would look very nice in a get-up like that.”

“I’ll stick with my racing suit and my birthday suit,” he smirks. “I think I look very nice in those get-ups.”

“I have to agree,” I smile.

“Birthday!” Willow leans down and shouts. “Birthday!”

Tauren turns and holds his arms out, taking her from Jenna. He lovingly kisses her cheek and then bounces her on his lap, pretending to be a horse. Her laughter is contagious, making me laugh right along with her.

He is so good with her, and I know had our child been born, he would have been great at being a daddy. I know in my heart he will get that opportunity one day. For now, though, we are happy with it only being the two of us.

“Did I miss him?” Brynn asks, quickly approaching us. I scoot over to give her some room and let her know she hasn’t missed Kipton yet. “My editor at the Chapelwood Courant asked me to cover tonight’s event, so I was conducting some interviews. I didn’t see him though.”

“He’s probably in the bathroom,” Kaler informs her. “His nerves are always bad before an event.”

“Dumbass eats a shitload and then barfs all his food up,” Tauren snickers.

“Ass!” Willow repeats and Kaler grumbles.

“Do you have any idea how long it took us to break her of saying that word?” Kaler gripes.

“He gets sick?” Brynn questions, and I note the concern in her voice. “That’s awful.”

“Yeah, he gets sick, but then he comes out and rides the shit out of a bull for eight seconds,” Tauren replies. “I suppose vomiting works to his advantage.”

“Stop cussing, for crying out loud!” Kaler warns, and Tauren flips him off, Willow immediately trying to hold up her middle finger.

“There he is!” I announce, seeing Kipton’s name come up on the board.

He’s getting lowered into the chute where the bull is, and the animal is making it known that he does not like Kipton being on his back. He bucks and kicks, the sound of his hooves hitting the gate making me jump.

My heart pounds in my chest when the gate opens. Eight seconds seems like an eternity. Brynn grips my arm, squeezing so tight she cuts off my circulation.

“He’s dropping!” Neil calls out, watching the bull’s head dip down and his feet kick out. “That’s a darn good ride!”

Neil is obviously proud of his son, all of his sons, and I love how close the Holt family is. My daddy never reached out to me, never made contact with me, and I’m alright with it. I have family, and I’m loved. That will not ever change.

We are all on our feet when the buzzer sounds, indicating that the eight-second ride is over. Kipton is thrown from the bull and scrambles to his feet, hurrying to safety. He waits, perched on the fence, for the judges to reveal his score.

I’m not certain what he needs to qualify since I’m not familiar with rodeo, but the crowd erupts in a cheer. Kipton tips his hat at the crowd.

“He did it!” Brynn exclaims. “He’s going pro!”

I clap for Kipton, happy for my brother-in-law. Tauren puts Willow on his shoulders, and she claps and cheers along with everyone else.

“Okay, maybe you should stick to racing,” I tell Tauren. “There’s no way I could handle watching you do that.”

“The only thing I want to ride is yo
u, Wife,” he winks, and like always, I blush.

We might want to keep it the two of us for now, but we have no problem practicing on making a baby! After all, practice makes perfect!
