They got out of the car and Tucker waved another constable over. “We need an evidence bag.”
The older officer approached. “What did you find?”
Madi held up the flash drive. “What happens now?”
“We’ll dust for fingerprints to ensure it only has Leah’s on it. Then—”
Bullets slammed into the SUV.
Multiple gunshots boomed.
“Get down!” Tucker grabbed Madi and shoved her behind the ambulance.
He unleashed his 9 mm and peeked around the vehicle.
Another round from the opposite direction peppered the area.
They were pinned down.
