“I-I would like that,” she said with a blush.

Then, Michelle smiled, excited to have this woman on her side. She knew of the little crush that tiffany had, but she certainly never expected her to be like this.

“You’re so cute. I can’t wait to mess you up,” she said with a grin.

There wasn’t anything else said after that. Tiffany looked at Michelle, feeling like her dream was finally coming true. She did like men, but the sheer fact that Michelle of all people was proposing sex to her was something of a dream. She never thought that she would get to have this moment, especially with her boss. She thought that she would leave this as nothing more than a lowly assistant, but at the end of it, she realized that she was about to get what you want.

Then, she felt Michelle’s lips against her own, kissing her hard. Tiffany knew that she wanted to join in this situation, because this was what she had been craving for a long time. She stayed there, kissing the attractive cougar, and soon they started once again with each other what Michelle had been doing for a long time with the two boys around her.

  TEMPTATION TALES

  Story 21

Elisa needed a new life. She was young and very beautiful, but in her town, which was ravished by war and destruction, there were very few men left that would make even the simplest of husbands and now, because of the shortage, even those men were in extremely short supply.

Therefore, only the wealthy women of the small town where she had lived all her life ever had a chance at finding a spouse.

Elisa had her good looks and was handy around the house, even though she had taught herself at a young age, the one wifely quality that now seemed to supersede all others was the one that she did not possess. She was not the least bit rich. In fact, she was what was considered to be extremely poor, especially with the loss of her providers.

Due to these unfortunate circumstances, even though she was a very smart woman, she was unable to find a husband, probably before she reached the age of becoming an old maid.

She was happy to work and would be a great mother, she believed but none of that seemed to matter, because the moment that her family was taken by the war, as the only surviving relative, she was swept aside. After all, when her country lost the war, there was nothing left for her country to do for her. She knew they scarcely had any resources themselves.

The situation was dire and therefore, she decided that she needed to take care of herself.

Until now, her life had been a series of ups and downs.

Elisa had grown up with all men, being that her mother had died in childbirth and therefore, she only had her father and brothers to keep her company.

Despite not having a mother, she had learned how to keep a house well, but she was also much more comfortable around men, then her female friends and since she was so handy on top of all that, everyone assumed that she would have no problem finding a husband.

However, just before she was of the age where it would be proper for a woman to wed, the war broke out and the men disappeared.

Elisa’s brothers went to war immediately, but her father tried to stay behind, to take care of her, until the government began to call on all able-bodied men, of any age.

Elisa had begged her father not to go, but he had taken great pride in his country as well as his family and so, when he was called upon, in order to keep his family’s honor, he went to war. He fought honorably she was told, but just like her three brothers, her father died in the heat of battle.

Every time she heard of another death it was hard, but with the officials saying the same thing to her with each member of her family struck down, one by one until there was nothing left, she became desensitized.

So, by the time she received word that her father was killed in action, she was more distraught by the fact that she had nothing that would help her live, then she really was over his death.

The night he left, she had basically accepted that he was going to die and therefore, she had already properly mourned by the time the officers showed up at her doorstep.

There was a lot to take in and this seemed like the final blow. Not only did she not have any family to lean on, she also had no way of getting work.

After the appropriate time of mourning, even though she had felt empty inside for quite a while before this, Elisa had tried to get a job. She was practically laughed out of every establishment she applied to.

Although there was such a lack of men now, the factories and workplaces that were staples of the community and had not fallen prey to bankruptcy had just taken all of the men that were still around, even employing children, but would not take a woman into work.

They told her it was improper and when she tried to argue that starving to death had to be worse, it only seemed to make matters worse.

So, eventually, the savings that her father and brothers did have begun to hastily dwindle, until there was virtually nothing left.

Now, without even enough money for a ticket, Elisa stood at the harbor, watching as a fleet of ships bound for international waters came to dock before embarking on their long journey to a distant world.

Elisa sighed as she watched them.

She then remembered that when she was a little girl, she and her brothers would watch the ships as they washed in and out of the harbor and they would wonder what it must be like to be out on the open ocean.

Together, they would talk about adventure and excitement. They would wonder about different islands and foreign lands, just as much as they would think about the dangers that were obviously present out on the high seas.

Elisa smiled as she thought about that, trying not to bring herself back to the reality that the brothers who she thought so fondly about then were now dead.

They had seen different lands though and one of them even got to go on one of those big ships.

The difference in the fantasy and the reality was though, that even when they talked about the dangers that they would face in their adventures, everyone always persevered and she was always included.

In reality, the only one who had survived thus far had not been included.

Elisa then sighed as she remembered what would happen every time she or one of her brothers would talk about the adventures they imagined in front of their father. A hard worker and a very realistic person, he didn’t have much of an imagination and so, he would discourage their fantasies of leaving this place with a vengeance.

“You should be happy with what you have, my children,” he would scold, “We may not have much, but we have enough and even though something might sound like a dream to you, didn’t mean that it would not end up being a nightmare and then how will you make it back?”

Even though her brothers and herself would have plenty of creative ways to make it back home, since they always did in their pretend notions, they wouldn’t dare share those thoughts with their father. He wouldn’t understand anyway and it wasn’t worth the argument.

Yet, at the time, her father was right. They didn’t have much, but they had enough. It wasn’t until her father died that Elisa ever felt the horror that came with hunger pains, having no money to quench them and no family to call on.

Looking at the boats now though, even though she was hungry and tired from exhaustion and malnutrition, she didn’t want to leave her home, because she felt as though she was leaving her family behind.

Your family is gone. She thought to herself bitterly as she tried her best to figure out how she could start a new life without any money or anything else that she might need for her journey.

In the past month, Elisa had become desperate. That was why she had made her way down here to the dock today. She had hoped that seeing the ships would give her strength to figure out what to do, but alas, they only caused her more anguish.

Elisa wasn’t a thief and she seldom snuck up on or into anything. She was always a good girl at heart, knowing that she
needed to one day be a desirable wife.

No one anticipated the war though. It was a big shock and then when the country did so badly, that was another low blow.

The country, especially her little town had never thought that they would be impacted so negatively, but the destruction was everywhere.

Elisa knew that if she stayed here, she would never be able to escape it and that was a major problem.

So, late one night, while the hunger pains and the loneliness from having an empty home kept her awake, she devised a plan.

Elisa thought that she could sneak onto a boat and become a stowaway. She really didn’t care where she was going, so long as it allowed her to start a new life in another country, far away from the destruction of war.

That was why she came here today. This was the day that her plan was supposed to be commencing, but looking at those ships, while she had only the clothes on her back and a few trinkets that she hoped she could trade if she really needed to, she felt herself have second thoughts.

For as many times as she had dreamt of leaving this place, now that she was trying to do so, illegally at that, she could not help but feel a sense of sadness and remorse for abandoning the place where she grew up. She loved her home and her community, when she was part of it.

But you are nothing to them now. You have no use… She thought, trying to convince herself to go through with the plan, since she could feel herself thinking about going back home, sitting in her quiet house and just waiting for death to come as she had done for so many nights now that she had just about lost track. They don’t want you. You need to start over.

With these thoughts and the reality that she will likely die if she did not escape on one of these boats, she straightened herself up, curved her hood over her head closer, so that her identity was sealed and made her way towards the boats, telling herself that the only decision that was left to make what which boat she wanted to board.

All that Elisa knew about these boats were that they were all headed someplace completely different, but other than that, she had no idea what to expect. That might not have been a bad thing though, considering that if she had known where they were going, she might have a harder time choosing; especially since she ended up going to with the boat that was the closest to her proximity, realizing that the longer she was out in the opened, the more of a chance she was taking that someone would spot her.

Then, as luck would have it she realized that someone had left a rope unattended, leading into an opened porthole that only a woman about her size could fit through and she took it as a sign that this was truly where she wanted to go.

Having had a strong, athletic build all of her life, the rope was easy enough to overcome and before she could really give a second thought to what she was doing, her feet were landing on the bottom of the ship, after she had flawlessly maneuvered herself through the porthole.

She smiled as a bolt of excitement coursed through her body. It’s too late to turn around now. Elisa thought, quickly looking around; I am officially a stowaway!

Apparently, Elisa really knew how to pick the portholes though, because after a quick look around, she noticed that there was a table that was covered with food. Having never been on a ship before in her life, she was even more surprised.

She knew that she would have to steal food, if in fact she was going to take this long trip as a stowaway, but she was unsure about how exactly she was going to make all of this work. She knew that she couldn’t be sneaking around all over the ship, but she had to eat and therefore, this was an awesome find.

Her stomach rumbled, somewhat angrily as she tried her best to control herself. She had not seen this much food in a very long time and that was bothersome to her.

She rushed over to the food and went to grasp a handful of the first things she saw, but she stopped abruptly and realized what she was doing. She wanted so much to do things right, since her father had always been a very honorable man, but she was trying her best and life just seemed to keep knocking her down more and more. Now, she had to steal food and a ride from a random ship, headed who knows where, just so that she could start over.

Her hand began to shake as she held it over the food while she fought with herself, trying to figure out what would be the best thing for her to do.

Well, I’m going to have to steal it eventually… She thought; If I don’t eat for too much longer, I’ll starve and then this would all be for nothing. Then, she reconsidered, but if I eat something now, they might realize that it is gone and throw me off the ship before I even get a chance to set sail.

She sighed, still feeling the need to contemplate. However, with another growl of her stomach, she decided that she really had no choice, but to grab what she could, what she decided wouldn’t be missed off of the table so that she would be able to eat.

The second her hand reached the food, she took it into her hand and immediately thrust it into her mouth, gnawing away at it with a fervor. She grasped handfuls of the food and shoveled it into her mouth, filling her cheeks with it; barely even realizing what it was. Her stomach was so empty that the hollowness of it was easily detected by the feeling the food gave her as it rocketed into her stomach.

Growing up, Elisa had never been a fast eater. In fact, her family would always tease her about how she would always be the last to finish her meal.

I am so glad that they cannot see me now. She sighed as she shook her head and tried her best to get as much food into her stomach as possible.

Then, she heard someone coming. Her sense of hearing seemed to grow keener with her immediate need to survive and so she could tell that whoever it was, they were still fairly far away, but they were definitely coming her way.

So, Elisa stuffed a few more handfuls of food into her mouth before she grabbed a few rolls and then took off, away from where the she heard the people on the ship coming from.

However, as she reached a door, she was surprised to feel it push opened against her.

Quickly and terrified, Elisa turned around and ducked to the ground, hoping that her ragged clothes would make her look more like a pile of trash than a stowaway.

She closed her eyes as the man shuffled by her, unnoticed. She held her breath and hoped to God that the pounding of her heart was not loud enough for the people to pick up on.

To her relief though, the man just moved past her and even met the others that were coming her way from the other direction at the door.

While they spoke about setting sail and that it was the captain’s orders that they needed all hands on deck, Elisa quickly realized that she was too afraid to even move the smallest muscle.

This was difficult though, because for the majority of the time all of the men were talking, all she wanted to do was to turn around and run. She wasn’t sure where she was going to go, considering her goal was to stay on the ship, undetected for the entirety of the voyage, but at this moment, while she tried to focus all of her energy on staying still, it seemed that all her body wanted to do was run. She was terrified and that was a problem for her. Since she wasn’t detected, she couldn’t move, but with every agonizing second that passed, while the men carried on a fairly lengthy conversation, her body seemed to insist that it needed to move.

If her aching, screaming limbs weren’t enough, the fact that she felt the need to hold her breath was also quickly becoming a highly formidable foe.

Elisa’s head began to bang wildly in her ears and against her forehead as she felt her heart thump, almost lazily in her chest while her body tried to conserve the oxygen that was left in her bloodstream.

Her closed eyes began to bulge and her throat felt as though it was on fire as her body desperately tried to draw fresh air.

Through her struggle, she felt her toes curl wildly in her thin shoes, but other than that, she worked hard to ensure that she did not move.

Then, when Elisa was almost certain that she was unable to continue, when she began to feel her whole body scream o
ut with the intense need to breathe or cause her to pass out, so that she no longer had a choice, the men finally all exited through the other side of the room.

As soon as the door closed, Elisa fell to the ground, gasping for breath, hoping that her now uncontrollable pants were not too loud.

She had forced herself to go without oxygen for so long that even after it was returned to her, Elisa’s head thumped wildly and her insides screamed with agony. Immediately, she felt as though she was going to be sick, but she knew that she could not risk staying here a moment longer, so she pushed through the door and found herself faced with a corridor with a few more large open portholes, which led to a ladder that she assumed led upwards to the deck. She stared down the hall and realized what trouble it was providing for her. Every inch of it seemed to stream lengthwise, far surpassing what she believed should be there, while the rest of the room began to spin.
