To Stephanie, Jay, Nicole, and to the whole 'Rhetoric crew' - I wouldn't be here without your support. I can never adequately thank you for inspiring me to share my heart with the world.
To Christina, my editor, my friend, my rock... meeting you was God's gift to me. Thank you for believing in this manuscript and for putting your eloquent touch on it. I love you.
To Kevin, my children, my mom, and all my family who have had to endure my quirks and my hermit status - thank you for loving me and for learning to love a writer. I love you all.
To Jesus Christ. You are the reason in every season of my life.
Thank you for taking me on the pathway that has led me to today.
To all my Followers on Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, and Pinterest:
Thank you, this is for you.
About the Author
It was during her early childhood when Alfa discovered her ability to express emotions through writing and her passion was born, but it is the lifetime of love, lessons, and loss that she has lived that adds her striking authenticity to each piece of prose she writes. Unapologetic about her ‘realistic’ take on heartache, she writes to let her readers know they are not alone in their pain. She shares with them that there is beauty in releasing pent up breaths, and by giving life to sacred words that sit on dusty shelves in precious souls.
That authenticity gut punches the soul so beautifully, it leaves an imprint long after the last line is read. She credits her supporters for inspiring her to write and post every day. They keep her on track with their kindness, feedback, and interaction. Alfa’s objective is to give a voice to the thoughts that trek through our minds during heartbreak and painful experiences. Those same words that so many of us wish we had said, and are longing to set free.
Alfa holds degrees in English Literature as well as Radiologic Sciences and has held many jobs during her lifetime in the medical environment, most specifically Radiology. She is an avid juicer and credits her daily regimen for fueling her creativity, yet readily admits to chugging her green juice with popcorn,

swimming in pools of unhealthy butter, along with her arch nemesis - sour apple licorice.
Her children, the stars of her life, were the catalyst that pushed her to force her words and her smile on the world after a lifetime of depression and anxiety. She wanted to leave something behind for them, a legacy, a proof of existence that shouts,
“I was here. Full of dreams, love and hope.” And shout it does, across the world and into the hearts of everyone who reads her.
Alfa has three more books of poetry in the works that she is putting final touches on before releasing. She is also working on a children's quote book that will be published early next year.
When not writing, she is most likely indulging in ice tea on her back porch in Kentucky while painting an upcycled furniture piece some fabulous shade of turquoise, or fashioning something extraordinary out of her collection of vintage buttons and brooches.
Since publishing her first poem online January of 2015, Alfa has amassed a social media following of nearly half a million followers, and her stunning body of work can be found featured on top trending sites and artistic platforms around the globe.
