“So beautiful, in fact, that all I want to do is watch you touch yourself. Have you ever touched yourself before, Irina?” I asked her, watching her bite down on that plump lip of hers. She didn’t want to offer up too much information, and I had a feeling there was a reason behind why she was so reserved, but to my surprise, she showed me what I wanted to see regardless. I followed her hand as it moved down from her breasts, to the lower part of her stomach, venturing off into the valley of her thighs.

“Spread those legs for me,” I commanded, and she obeyed, her fingers toying with her pussy, showing it off for me, and I could feel my dick harden at the thought of what I was going to do to her when she was done putting on her little show.

Irina’s manicured fingers ran along her clit and my eyes focused on how quickly it was swelling, taking note that it had probably been quite a long time since she’d had any real pleasure. She slipped two of her fingers inside, fucking herself nice and slow, and I laid there enjoying every move she made. She kept my gaze as I finally rose up over her, lowering my boxers so she could see every inch of my length. She smiled as I removed her fingers from inside of her, signifying that it was time for me to do the heavy lifting instead. I wanted her thoroughly primed, and ready to take my dick. I slipped it in slow, running my fingers through her hair, pulling her head back, and keeping it steady while my eyes never left hers.

She moaned when I entered her, and I didn’t want her to cause a ruckus, so I moved my hand down to grab her by the throat as I started to thrust deep inside of her. I felt the warmth of her pussy envelope my dick, sending a chill down my spine that I hadn’t felt in ages. She felt incredible. She was the different kind of fucking I’d been looking for, the one that would make me start to lose control if I wasn’t careful.

“You like that? You’re such a good girl, taking all of my dick, huh?” I asked her, choking her a little harder, watching a smirk play upon her lips.

I fucked her faster, my dick slipping in and out of her with ease because of how drenched her pussy was. She tried to keep her moans at bay, and I placed a finger on her lips to keep the screams from getting to be too loud. I needed to control her, I needed her to cum on my command.

“Ah ah, not yet, Irina,” I said, and she looked up at me with pleading eyes.

I hit it harder the last few seconds, wanting her body to erupt with mine. I felt the tension rise inside of me, and I gave her the signal.

  “Now.”

It was the best I’d felt in such a long time, and I was quite surprised that I found a woman who could make me feel that way. When the fun was all over, she got back into her dress without any further questions, smiling at me as she left the room. I headed off into the ensuite bathroom, trying to make myself look a bit more presentable as I snuck out of the door, trying to look for Edik. It’s probably best not to tell him that I didn’t so much as say hello before I took one of his guests on a ride, I thought, nodding to myself as I scurried back off downstairs.

I entered the living room a few moments later, looking over at the grandfather clock to see that an entire hour had passed. I knew I’d have some explaining to do when Edik finally laid eyes on me, but I didn’t care. The only thing that captured my attention was wondering where Irina ran off to, and I knew I’d be looking out for her for the rest of the evening. I spotted Edik in the corner by the fireplace chatting with a few of his guests with a hefty glass of alcohol in hand. I approached him, hoping that he wouldn’t think that anything was out of order, but when our eyes finally met, he greeted me with a smile.

“I was starting to think that you weren’t going to show,” he said, and I chuckled.

“Well, you know what they say, in a life like ours, trying to be anywhere on time is just out of the question.”

“It certainly does come with the territory. I’m glad that you were able to make it after all, Aleksandr. It’s been such a long time. Please, let’s go have a drink and catch up,” he said, bidding goodbye to his other guests as he led me into his private bar area, handing me a glass and leaving me to pick out whatever I was in the mood for.

“How has business been, Edik? The last time we had any sort of conversation, we were both still trying to find our place in the community,” I said, pouring myself a glass of whiskey from one of the crystal vials.

“Business has had its ups and downs, but I can safely say that I’m in a much better place than I was when you and I were still fighting for something to make all of this worthwhile.”

“I see that you’ve managed to make quite the living. This house is massive, and the company you keep is quite interesting,” I said, because I noticed that there were a lot of people at this party that had been on my family’s hit list for a very long time. Though tonight was not about business, and I was not about to start a fight on account of something I had no business taking care of on my own.

“Well, I have to say that a lot of the men that you’ve seen here tonight I only invited because I wanted something out of them,” he said, honestly.

“Oh, yeah? Then what do you want out of me?” I asked, curiously.

“I’ve been hearing a few rumors about the work you’ve been doing to build an empire of your own, and if I didn’t hate your family so much, I would say that they would’ve been quite proud of you. Though, I also know that you’ve been trying to move away from the Volkov family legacy, and have something that feels like you and operates the way you want it to,” Edik said.

“What exactly are you getting at, old friend?”

“I have a job for you, Aleksandr. A contract that could very well solidify both of our names in this community. If you want to be feared amongst the men that want to be you, and loved by those that want to do business with you, I’m sure that we can work something out,” he said.

“I came here to have a nice evening, to blow off some steam, and relax for a little while. The last thing I want to talk about right now is business, Edik. Besides, you have countless other men out there that you could be asking to do business with you right now. Why me?”

“Because I trust you, Aleksandr. I always have. We may not have always seen eye to eye in the past, but I know what you’re capable of. The job is yours if you want it, and if you do me this little favor, we may be on our way to building one of the biggest empires the Bratva world has ever seen,” Edik said, with a laugh that came from the depths of his diaphragm.

He reached into his desk drawer, pulling out a file that contained all of the information I’d need to do the job. He slapped it onto the bar in front of me, waiting to see if I was going to take the bait. There was something that made me hesitate, something that didn’t feel quite right about the entire thing, but he intrigued me. I was left feeling like maybe it was time for me to start building connections in the right places, and I reminded myself of how good of a partnership Edik and I had in the past when we were just participating in juvenile crime.

“I’m not going to make any promises, Edik, but if this is indeed worth my time, I’m sure we can come to some sort of an agreement.”

“The payout is enough to hook you, Aleksandr. You’re an incredible asset, and those crooks out there wish they could be half the man you are,” he said, pointing to the door.

He makes a point, and I’ve been looking to start taking advantage of new opportunities. Maybe this is a win-win after all.

“Now, while you think about that, I have to go and bid my goodnight to my guests. Please, join me,” he said, leading me back out into the main dining area.

He took his spot at the front of the crowd as my eyes caught sight of a woman moving through, and just as she turned around I realized who it was. Irina made her way to Edik’s side, her hair pulled up to the nape of her neck, her lips still glistening from fresh lipstick, as she interlocked her fingers with his.

“From the love of my life and I, I’d like to thank you all for coming. I hope you enjoyed tonight’s festivities, and I look forward to seeing you all again v
ery soon,” said Edik, as he kissed Irina lightly on the cheek and she didn’t seem too pleased. It was then that I realized I was now hiding a secret that could sever this partnership between Edik and I before it even really began. Irina caught my eye in the middle of the crowd as she placed a finger over her lips to signify secrecy, just like I had done when I was fucking her.

What the hell did I just do?

  Chapter Four: Irina

Last night was the most magical night of my life. I can’t remember the last time I felt that good. I felt like myself, the younger version of me that always knew what she wanted. I didn’t expect to let loose with Aleksandr the way I did, but it was something that I was itching to feel again. I couldn’t deny that we shared a connection, that the spark between us was more vibrant than anything I’d experienced with Edik in the past, though I knew that he may not be so willing to see me again now that he knew my connection to Edik. It seemed that they really were friends, because from the look in his eyes when I stood up with Edik at the end of the night, he appeared quite shocked. I hadn’t known that the friendship between Aleksandr and Edik was that strong, otherwise I may have thought twice about taking things as far as I did. Although, I couldn’t deny how much I’d thought about him since, how every time I closed my eyes, all I could feel was his hands all over my body again.

He took me on the roller coaster ride of my life, one I didn’t want to get off of. I worried that would be the very last time I experienced anything quite so wonderful, but it wouldn’t stop me from trying again. The way I felt with Aleksandr gave me hope that I wouldn’t have to live out the rest of my days under the roof of a tyrant who only kept me around to do his dirty work. Edik may have addressed me as the love of his life last night, but they were empty words at best.

I can’t remember the last time Edik told me he loved me, and if he did, it was probably just so I could fulfill another one of his wishes, I thought, as the memories of what he made me do filled my mind, sending chills down my spine. Letting Aleksandr explore me the way I once wished Edik would, reminded me that I was still very much in charge of my own life, and I didn’t have to sit around waiting for someone to rescue me. The spontaneity of it all made me want to go out and have experiences like that again, but I knew it would be incredibly difficult due to the fact that I had eyes on me everywhere I looked.

Last night, Aleksandr and I were able to hide in plain sight because no one would think to look in the upstairs bedroom, especially because Edik always believed that I was too afraid to ever cross him in that way. I thought of all the women he had slink in and out of the house when he thought I was asleep, and the more I remembered how good Aleksandr felt on top of me, the less terrible I felt. I wasn’t the kind of woman to step out on the man I loved, but I didn’t love Edik anymore, and I hadn’t for a very long time. I could only hope that Edik wouldn’t ever learn about what Aleksandr and I did, for the sake of keeping me alive, but that wasn’t going to stop me from trying to see him again. If Aleksandr feels the way I do about all of this, he’s going to come find me sooner or later, I thought, recalling how easily he responded to conversation with me, and hoped he would be willing to let me lead him upstairs.

I was just coming out of the shower, my hair still dripping on the bedroom carpet when Edik burst into our bedroom, looking positively furious. For a moment, I thought he’d found out about what happened and I wanted to run to him crying, apologizing in the hopes that he wouldn’t kill me, but I decided to just stay calm. I couldn’t rat myself out if he wasn’t aware that I’d done anything, and if Edik ever did find out about what I did with his friend, he was going to have to confront me one way or another.

“The deal isn’t going the way I planned, nor have the people I tried to recruit taken the bait,” I heard him say, but I didn’t respond.

“It’s like they have no idea that I’m about to launch one of the biggest crime operations this country has ever seen. Irina?” he asked, noticing I wasn’t listening to him.

I let him fume, trying to ignore him, and just as I was about to paint my lips a fiery shade of red, he grabbed my lipstick from me, commanding my attention.

“Have you been listening to anything I’ve said for the last five minutes?” he asked, angrily.

“Yes, dear. I heard you loud and clear. Business isn’t doing as well as you thought, and you didn’t get as many opportunities to strike last night as you initially thought you would,” I said, choosing my words carefully so that I wouldn’t upset him further.

“Good, well I can’t say that last night was a bust after all. I managed to convince my old friend Aleksandr that doing business together would be in his best interests. Get ready, my love. You’re going to be seeing a lot more of Aleksandr around here, and he’s the one that’s going to help me build the crime empire I’ve been trying to establish for years,” said Edik, staring into the mirror as I gazed at my reflection. He stood there squeezing my shoulders, and he didn’t have to say another word. I already knew that he had his next hit in mind, and he was going to use me to lure his target in for a killing.

“You look lovely, Irina. Though, let your hair down again. You know how slutty it makes you look. That’s exactly what’s going to rope this one in tonight so I can get my money,” he said with a laugh as he tightened his tie, leaving me alone in the room.

I hated having to participate in his games, throwing myself at men who expected me to play with them, getting whatever they wanted out of me, just so Edik had the opening he needed to take his money. When Edik and I first met, it was like we were operating as a partnership. It was like we handled things together. He’d always manage to swoop in and save me before things got ugly. Unfortunately, when he lost interest in me, he also stopped caring about coming to my rescue. He became blinded by his wealth, and so I was left to pick up my own pieces, and rescue myself at the end of a job. If he ever found me crying, he’d tell me how weak I was, and that if I wanted to remain in this lifestyle, I’d have to suck it up.

I promised myself that I’d find a way to make it out of his grasp, that I’d learn to love myself again, and receive the freedom I’d been longing for. There was a part of me that felt like Aleksandr was my ticket to getting out of here for good, and I could only hope that Edik had been right all along. If Aleksandr and Edik get into a business partnership together, Edik may be preoccupied enough to forget that he needs me. If I have a chance to run, I may very well take it before he leaves me for dead.

I wondered how Aleksandr truly felt about me. I wondered if the night we shared together had just been about sex, or if he would ever truly start to develop feelings for me. I supposed it was something we were going to have to talk about if he was even open to entertaining the subject. If he did find me intriguing enough to keep around, we’d have to conduct our little rendezvous in secret, but that was something I was certainly willing to do. I worried that he was going to place his loyalty in his friend, leaving me feeling like the fool for even sleeping with him in the first place. Though, I guessed only time would tell what his true intentions really were. For now, I just had to focus on staying alive, and doing whatever Edik asked.

It’s time to play the part again, put on a good show, and make sure that Edik gets his money, I thought, knowing just how crazy Edik got when he didn’t receive his money at the end of a job. I could only hope that he’d receive payment this time, because I was always the person he took out his anger on when he didn’t get his way.

I blinked away the tears, shifting the memories from my mind as I brushed a bit of blush onto my cheeks. I had to look like I was ready for a nice time, hiding the scars and bruises beneath expensive makeup and carefully thought-out ensembles. It’s just another night on the job.

I sat in the back of Edik’s black sedan, all dressed up per his request. I fiddled with the ends of my hair, feeling the weight of the job on my shoulders, leaving me uneasy. My stomach turned at the thought of what this man was going to expect of me once he st
arted to talk me up in the hotel bar. It made me sick that Edik could use me like this, but I knew it was all a game to him, one that I needed to be a part of for him to keep me alive. The man’s name was Frederick. I wasn’t given a last name or any other background information. Edik snapped his fingers at me, trying to bring me back down to earth as I’d been staring out of the window for what felt like hours. He opened up the file in his hand, showing me a picture of the man I had to seduce, and I simply nodded.

“I don’t want any mishaps this time, Irina. I know you’re still upset about what happened last time, but I assure you that no one is going to lay a finger on you,” said Edik, but I’d be a fool to believe him.

“Those were the very words that came out of your mouth the night I nearly got taken advantage of, and you couldn’t even apologize then,” I said, under my breath, but I knew he heard me. It didn’t bother him that I became collateral damage in his war with the rest of the world, because all he ever cared about was how much money he walked away with at the end of a job. “How much money does he owe you?” I asked out of pure curiosity.

“Enough to buy you another dozen diamond necklaces, my love,” was all he had to say. I sighed, my gaze returning to the foggy window as evening grew near. I followed all of Edik’s instructions as he asked, not even bothering to comment on his plans because I knew how much that upset him.

I took one last look at Edik before exiting the car, retrieving my suitcase and purse, making my way up to the check-in desk for my one-night stay.

“Good evening, checking in,” I said.

“Good evening, miss. The last name on the reservation?”

“Turgeneva,” I said, giving him the fake name that Edik booked the room under.
