“Wow, this place is busy.” I said. “Yeah, it’s illegal but people still do it.” she said. I was surprised by how many beings were just casually time traveling. I definitely had a misconception of what beings thought as moral in the future.

We waited on the bench and chatted a bit more. An alien came over the intercom. “Two to gate five to 1982” he announced. We grabbed our luggage and approached gate five. This was it. I was finally going home.

I hit me on our way out that Breza might not care about going back. She might be able to just come back at any time. It was almost like she was just taking a vacation. Maybe she knew that she would come back. I’m not entirely sure but the time travel center looked like a tourist transit.

Either way it was fine with me. I was still just playing the roll with it card. I mean I was still sort of in awe that she stuck around. It was all actually mind blowing that all this even happened.

We stepped in the gate and saw a quick flash of light. I opened my eyes and we were in a slightly different room. I assumed we were back in 1982 now. It all happened so fast I barely had time to blink.

We exited the building and stepped out somewhere in the middle of New York City. “I’ve never been to this time.” Breza said excitedly. Her eyes lit up like mine gazing at the city in her time. I think maybe she was just rolling with what was happening too. I mean she got a free ticket to the past.

The tickets weren’t cheap either but here we were. All the way back in 1982. Not long after I was supposed to die. Well, hopefully this time I’ll be alright.

It just occurred to me if we go back to the future. Then I can just go to the time I left. I could go back to work and everything. That is if I wanted to go back to that life. Doesn't hurt to have the options that’s for sure.

We walked around the city and Breza pulled out some cash. “You didn’t think I would come here broke, did you?” she said. “Where did you get that?” I asked. “They exchange currency at the transit, silly.” she said. Well, that made sense I guess. I didn’t even really think about what to do about cash once I got here.

We went and bought a used car. We were going to my parents house straight away. It was quite the road trip but I didn’t mind. I had Breza to keep me company and that’s all that I needed.
