Beasts Awakened

In the Evenings, the beaches in California were filled with people who were a bit too frisky with their couples. In fact, lifeguards seemed to have substituted for cops when they stopped couples from going too hard and fast out in the open and politely pointed them towards the city where they could find cheap love hotels to go and visit off to. None of them took that suggestion lightly and there was much protest, but you just didn’t argue with the people who were responsible for your safety while on the beach. And today was one of the hardest days that Leila had.
“Frigging hormonal fools.” She muttered under her breath, finally walking away after a hard day at work. It was so troublesome being a lifeguard at times she didn’t even want to continue being a lifeguard, but she absolutely adored her job. She really liked being in a job where she had to stay the entire day on the beach so she didn’t care about what happened and why it happened, she loved her job, that was final. So at around 1830 on a surprisingly warm winter evening, she was walking down the beach with her bag towards the last checkpoint as a final patrol before she left the beach when she saw it happen.
Up from the sky, it came. She had just looked upwards to see them as she came to the last checkpoint when she spotted a strange light, definitely not a star as it was bright blue with specks of red and green as it flew by. At first, she thought it was a plane, but planes didn’t move downwards like that, definitely not. Planes didn’t move like that, they weren’t sleek, and they definitely didn’t look like that. What seemed to be a comet suddenly crashed down into the sea with a massive splash. The force of the collision was felt where she was standing and it was the only instinct that had her running away from the sea just before the waves following the impact could completely submerge the beach she was standing on. She looked around to see if there was anyone that had noticed her, anyone at all and found there was literally no one at the beach who seemed to have observed the event. So she decided that it could be literally anything and ran back onto the beach, discarding clothes upon clothes and finally putting her bag down before heading out with a board.
The job of a lifeguard was not only to rescue people but also prevent them from going into dangerous situations. And whenever they headed outside into the sea to find someone or something ‘missing’, they always headed out with the intention of the thing being a person and the said person being alive. So she didn’t waste a second, just paddled, paddled and paddled all the way until she reached the ‘UFO’ in her words. And when she did, her jaw really did drop.
It wasn’t just a particle of a spaceship or something like that like she had thought. It was actually a UFO. It had everything that was needed, the sleek, disk-like shape, the menacing black color, the lights and also the 3 landing pads, as they were called, and it was effortlessly floating on top of the sea.
“What in the....” She muttered in horror. Holy shit. Holy shit. She was in front of a UFO, in the sea!!! “What..... how?!”
She had never actually believed in Aliens. Of course, it wasn’t like she was afraid of them, or she didn’t like the concept, the thought of there being another planet with such intelligent beings was...... astounding, to say the least. It was also her pride in her own race that prevented her from believing in Aliens, a supposed race of beings that were much more powerful and technologically advanced than humans. But the proof now was sitting right in front of her, without a doubt the actual, living proof.
She wanted to turn around, and run, call the police, call the military, call NASA, whatever, but her curiosity won over her sense of survival and the fear of the unknown. Gently, she dropped down of her board, and towards the ship, looking at it more closely. Much to her surprise, as if sensing she was coming near, a small hatch opened up underneath the ship, letting her entrance inside of it. Gathering up all of her courage, she popped up on her arms, and got up on the hatch, walking inside of the ship and looking around with trepidation and slight fear. She didn’t know where she was, she didn’t know what she was doing, she didn’t know what was happening. She only knew that there was something in here that she really wanted to see. And she did get to see what she really wanted to see.
Right on the side of the room, he was sitting, on top of a strange chair. No, not he, it. It was long, and tall, with an extremely slick body, extremely slick. Its eyes were elongated, pure blue in color, just a touch darker than it’s skin. It had a fairly humanoid shape and no elongated skull or anything of sorts, but it also did have some hair. Its body was so blue that it seemed to be glowing, and it’s pure blue eyes were also glowing. Its hands had 5 fingers like all humans do, but they were long, and almost looked like sausages, but they were firm. The only thing was, it seemed to be without any form of clothes. Its entire body was quite visible, strangely there were utterly no privates.
“Ouch....” It muttered in some language that Leila couldn’t recognize. She gulped and took a step back as the Alien got up. “That was...... unprecedented. I had not considered the particles in Saturn’s rings to be a hindrance for my travel.”
The language was something that sounded like it came from the Lord of the Rings, but at the same time, it did not. It sounded much more musical as if she had heard it somewhere. No, what seemed to be more frightening to Leila wasn’t that she had heard that language, but rather it was that the Alien and come to look at her.
For the briefest movements, 2 eyes met each other, glowing blue meeting scared yet firm brown. The being stood up tall, easily towering over the little 5ft 3 inches height, her guess would be it was at least 6ft 6 inches tall. And as he stood up, the formerly dark surroundings all lit up, machines and instruments of all types visible for her to see. All the said instruments were beeping with numbers, one thing she noticed, all sorts of numbers. Massive screens showed the computing systems of all the numbers and she looked as she had found herself in a technological heaven.
“You might be?” the being asked her, tilting its head. Leila tried to stutter out something, anything, that would come out of her mouth, but literally, nothing came out. Literally nothing. The Alien being stepped towards her, as close as he could, just shy of downright touching her. Leila gulped.
“D Don’t step closer.” She said warningly. The hatch behind her had closed, leaving her trapped inside of the UFO she was inside. “I warn you, don’t step closer!”
The Alien didn’t stop, it was still staring at her, trying to tear her apart, trying to look into her very soul as if she was something for him to enjoy, trying to look what made her HUMAN. Suddenly, the being’s hand shot up and traced her chin. Her eyes widened and before she could say anything, its lips met his.
Her eyes widened as she realized that it was, indeed, kissing her, with all it could. She tried to push away but then she fell slack. She didn’t know what was happening, as it felt like liquid electricity traveled down her mouth and spine, and into her brain and all the cells of her body. Her mouth was open, and so was its, but it wasn’t kissing her like in those movies or books. No, it wasn’t kissing her because it wanted to kiss her, but it was kissing her because it was trying to find out the deepest mysteries of her soul, and her existence. And right in front of her eyes, it happened.
The Alien’s eyes, which were glowing, suddenly died down. And started to pale over. His elongated pupils turned into the familiar round shape of the humans that were around on Earth. Stopping to kiss her, the Alien stepped back, and looked at her, as its body glowed. Its hands started to fatten, its head started to be a lot less curvy and much more rough and stern, its chest expanded and so did its total body mass and structure. Its hair, which seemed to be like a small mop of blue hair, expanded, covering his entire head in spiky locks of pure blue. Its eyes, though, were now pure white with a blue colored glow inside of them dying down to reveal a normal, blue colored pupil. Its body slowly started to wrap around in some sort of a cloth she had never seen, shimmering a bright silver before turning into what seemed to be the best designer suit she had ever seen. Its skin gained a sli
ghtly creamy texture to it, but it, now he, was what looked to be a proper human.
“Y yo.....” Leila shook with rage, anger, and embarrassment. “How dare you kiss me?!”
“Huh?” This time, it.... no, he..... spoke in English, tilting his head. “What do you mean? I needed to know where I was.”
“But why did you kiss me for it?! You could have at least asked for permission to kiss me you.... you..... you pervert!” Leila shrieked. She took a stance and slapped him across the face. “Here I thought I would help you out, but no, you had to Kiss me you stupid out of the world faggot!”
“Uhh.... I am sorry, I don’t like blood.” The reformed Alien said as if it was a matter of faculty. “My race only eats vegetables which are not found on C-XX7.”
“I don’t care what your race eats!” Leila shouted. “You kissed me without my permission! That was assault and you cannot do that! I’ll have you arrested for this!”
“Arrested?” Once again, the being tilted his head. “I don’t know what you mean. Does that mean you’ll put me to rest for that? Because if so then please tell me, I do need to rest after all.”
“SHUT UP!!” The girl shouted. “How can you be so stupid! Arrested means I’ll submit you to the police you jerk!”
“Police, like the enforcers of the Law?” The Alien asked, shaking his head. “I am sorry, by the treaty of interworld extradition and fining, only the country of origin has the power to arrest and charge their resident even in another country, and our countries aren’t in the best of all the terms, or planets, actually.”
Leila’s jaw dropped. Who the hell did this guy think he was? A GOD?! What the hell was wrong with this man. “Fine! Then tell me why did you kiss me?”
“Because if I didn’t I would have to have roamed around in the natural state of the people of my world.” The Alien said. “And I don’t want to be the center of attention. My race keeps a track on yours and we find your different types of portrayals of your race very strange, and incredibly offensive. Undoubtedly most of those people you call the ‘conspiracy theorists’ are ridiculed in my planet.”
“And how does kissing me involve that?” Leila asked, still irritated and flushed. She’d never admit it out loud, but he did kiss well and was fairly attractive in his human form, especially his hair, pure blue that spiked around everywhere and anywhere. “Did you do some sort of a mind trick where you saw all my memories or something?”
“No, I didn’t. I did use a trick to learn whatever that was about a different race. Kissing you, or lip to lip transferring your thoughts into mine, I was able to know more about your Human race. I must say as disappointed I am with you, I am also interested in your ability to innovate and evolve.” The Alien replied, tilting his head. He didn’t show any expression on his face, neither did he show any compassion. He simply stated everything he stated before in his usual, casual drawl and looked at her right in the eyes, boring into her very soul.
His eyes brightened slightly as he tilted his head, trying to make the woman trust him. Leila, though, didn’t trust him, at all. She was heavily suspicious of his activities and didn’t want to do anything more than just get away from him. So she glared back, not backing down of what she was doing. The Alien, for the first time since she had first seen, smirked slightly. It didn’t look as inhuman as it should have. In fact, it looked almost normal, as normal as it could get on a human male’s face.
“Let me...... introduce myself. I am Mugen.” The Alien said, bowing once. “Mugen from the planet XX-1884, Fintenarster galaxy.”
“Look, I don’t care who you are, neither do I care what planet you are from.” The woman sighed, rubbing her head and shook it. “I don’t even care what you’re doing here. I just want you to know, get the hell away from this place before the police find you. You don’t belong on this planet.”
“I would love to get out of this planet, but unfortunately, I made a miscalculation,” Mugen said, his eyes once again returning to the same emotionless state. “The powers around the planet Saturn screwed my ship up, in your words, and now I need to repair my ship before I can go back.”
“And whatever you were doing around Saturn?” She asked, unknown to her. It was something about this being that simply made her want to ask her questions upon questions, but she couldn’t just answer the said questions.
“That is for me to know.” The Alien said evasively. “I just wish to know where in the country of Earth am I?”
“Well, you’re around 1 K.M outside of Shenlin Beach in California, it’s one of the most popular secluded beaches in Los Angeles, and not a place where most can get to from the city. It is currently.... 7:00 pm in the evening, the temperature is surprisingly warm for a winter evening touching a nice and warm 26 degrees Celsius, and you’re in the country of the United States of America.” Leila said in one go. “And my name is-.”
“Leila Jones, 32 years.” He interrupted. “You were born in Assenton National Hospital in the Southern Areas of Los Angeles, you have 2 little sisters and 1 big brother, your father died in service in Vietnam when you were 12, your mother works as a hair stylist in the city, and you’re a lifeguard and have been one for the past 10 or so years.”
Leila’s jaw dropped as he basically summed up her life without her even telling him her name. Mugen smiled again and raised his hand. There was an audible sound of a click, followed by the hatch opening up once again. Strangely, her board was on the hatch and not in the water, like it had been pulled inside.
“You may go, I don’t exactly need your help right now,” Mugen said, his eyes starting to twinkle. Leila gulped and shook her head, taking a deep breath.
“Well whatever, just don’t bother anyone and for god's sake don’t tell anyone I met you.” Leila huffed, turning around and grabbing her board. Something told Mugen that she was extremely mad about the little kiss that he had given her to get to know the Humans. Well, he's not exactly worried about any of it, yet. Once she was out of the UFO, and back on the shore, she was surprised to see all her clothes neat and folded up right beside her bag. Sensing the Alien she had found was behind this, she simply growled, wore her clothes, and stomped off towards the nearest bar she could find. She needed a couple of drinks. Then remembering that the next day was a workday, she snarled and started to curse under her breath about the unfair of it all and instead walked off towards her own home.
She lived alone, just outside of Los Angeles in a small-time area called Henton. It had everything she needed, was close to the beach, and the nearest Starbucks and Subway weren’t far away so that would easily mean there was nothing wrong with the area. While she could have tried out for Lifeguard positions in the more prominent beaches of Malibu or something like that, she just wanted a quiet and peaceful life, and was also able to strike a nice deal on one of the older, yet good-looking houses, in the area.
Coming towards her house, she tried her best to remain as she was and walked towards her door, opening it with the keys that she had and entered inside. Her house was still the same as it was. Cracked walls, some cracked paint, old aged lights, an actual brick stone fireplace, cracked tiles and a small kitchen was what greeted her. Passing by Mugen sitting on her kitchen parlor, she went for her fridge and then stopped right dead in her tracks. Turning around with wide, maniacal eyes, she came face to face with Mugen sitting inside of her home on her parlor as if it was nothing.
“Hi.” He simply said, greeting her. “Sorry to intrude. I invited myself in. You see, about the ‘not needing your help right now’ part? Yeah, I think I miscalculated once again.”
Chapter 2- A Trip To Come.
“What in the name of Blazes are you doing here?!” Leila screamed once she got her rapidly beating heart under control. This Alien’s appearance inside of her home had shocked her so much, so god damned much that she didn’t even know what to do, jump in the air and scream or punch him in the face and scream. One thing was certain, though, she was going to scream at him. “How did you ev
en get in here?!”
“I remember the way your keys look like from your memories,” Mugen said as if it was a perfectly normal thing. He fished out a piece of wood out of his pocket and removed a very familiar looking wooden key. “So I made your main door Key. I hope that wasn’t rude.”
“Rude? It’s a crime! You trespassed on my property!” The girl screamed at him again. “You did a criminal act! You should be in the jail right now you.... you..... you scum!”
“Scum? Is that a race of humans?” Mugen asked, curious beyond belief. “No, your memories say it is a bad word. Are you sure you should be speaking that? Your mother does tell you to stop with the bad words and will wash your mouth if she hears you using them.”
“I swear if you try and go to my mother without my permission, I will kill you!” Leila said, her voice devoid of any other emotion. She was truly serious about what she was saying and she even had the glare down. Mugen only tilted his head. “And stop messing around with my head!”
“I will try,” Mugen replied, looking at her coolly. “But as I said, I didn’t come here to have another shouting match with you. I came here because I am in need of some help.”
“And how will I help you, Mr. Alien from whatever planet you are from,” Leila said dryly. “Unless you don’t realize, I’m a human.”
“I know that you’re a human.” Mugen nodded. “Hell, I am too, if you ask me. When I kissed you, I took a bit of your DNA which is common to all the humans and added it to mine to make myself Human. Sure, I do have all the ‘powers’ that I can use, but they’re not as good as they’re supposed to be. But in the case of power, anything goes.”
