Thrust & Parry: Z Day
by Luke Ashton
Jim Parry is an IT engineer in a school, a proud member of the Territorial Army and an all round apocalypse enthusiast. As he gears up for a potential terrorist attack he finds himself thrust into a completely different emergency. An emergency that he feels his whole life has been working towards. As he fights to find a safe haven and build a resistance to the mindless zombies roaming the city around him he finds himself in a losing battle to preserve what was left of humanity. Fighting his way across Britain Jim battles infected animals, stalkers and roman colonies formed to build Britain's strongest army. Will he survive or become another statistic? Authors Note: I really wanted to get back to basics with this book. I have read many books where the author has thrown in twists to the stereotypical zombie apocalypse and, although they were a great read that I would highly recommend, I wanted to take it back to the way zombies were meant to be. Many books portray the hero as the least likely of people whereas I wanted to create a hero that was perfect for the role and demonstrate that even the perfect hero can struggle with the horrors and challenges the apocalypse will bring. I hope you will enjoy the read as much as I have enjoyed writing it and would appreciate any and all feedback you can give.
