Threshold of Victory
by Stephen J. Orion
Humanity's back is against the wall. Locked in a war of annihilation with an opponent able to strike anywhere, the Constellation Navy have lost sixty percent of their carriers and hundreds of star fighters in a few short years.
The newly commissioned CNS Arcadia is to join the battle for the Bryson system, but before they've even made rendezvous with the fleet, they'll be thrown onto the front lines.
The captain has a secret mission, the leader of the attack squadron has deep political connections, and their arcom ace doesn't exactly have a reputation for following orders.
And then there's Tarek.
He should be just a logistics pilot, but humans are evolving. What began as an uncanny ability to predict enemy fire might just become the power needed to bring the war to a speedy conclusion.
But at what cost?
