Pistoleer: Invasion

In the winter of 1642/43, while King Charles was hiding in Oxford, his wife Henrietta was in The Hague pawning the English crown jewels, buying an army, and chartering ships to invade England. In February the invasion convoy was spotted off the North Sea port of Lowestoft by a small English ship. The ship's crew included Daniel Vanderus and a dragoon captain named Robert Blake.
