Bookman is a young man’s odyssey selling books door to door through the Mid-South during the turbulent civil rights struggles of the 1960’s. It has moonshiners, small town jails, rednecks, and blacks struggling toward equality. There are some big city fancy women and finally a catharsis which shines some light on the Mid-South as it was, and is, and could be.
