The Wilful Daughter

June is the youngest, prettiest and most
vivacious of the five highly desirable daughters of a successful business man
who, with a will of iron and principles of steel, decides that they will only
marry the husbands he approves of, and only as and when he considers it
appropriate for them to do so. For the daughters who comply with his
wishes there will be guaranteed social status and a life of financial ease; for
those who defy him there will be disgrace and disinheritance. When the
heart-stoppingly handsome, fabulously gifted and European-educated Mr. Piano Man
comes to town, there is no question that he is a suitable suitor, and June's
elder sister, Minnelsa, has been identified as next in line for the wedding
bells. However it is the physically irresistible and wilfully spirited June who
makes the Piano Man's joints jive and fingers itch, and the attraction is
mutual, not to say volcanic. So which music will the Piano Man play -
the traditional waltz or the good-time get-down-and-boogie? Will he live a life
of adventure or a life of security?  Will love conquer all, or will all
conquer love, and life?
