"It would be fine to refer to me as 'Samael', Your Majesty. Although it seems that 'this one' does not have a proper name, to begin with." The female 'Samael' added with a cheeky lilt to her voice.

"Hmmm... Samael... Lucifer... Lucy? How about naming you [Lucy] then? That sounds feminine enough." Feihren smiled as he thought of the new name for 'Samael'.

A faint light swirled around 'Samael' as the apparent change in his character page appeared.

"Character Name": [Lucy] (Sentient Demonic Ruby Ore)

"Lucy... that sounds beautiful Your Majesty. This servant humbly accepts the new name," Lucy replied as she bowed towards Feihren.

"Ah! No... Don't consider yourself as a 'servant', you've technically been with me for quite a while now, and I would prefer to consider you as a partner or a member of the team of some sort... So please," Feihren immediately replied as he tried his best to stop himself from yawning.

"See? It seems that you really need the sleep young lad. Don't worry, just rest well. Everything's gonna be fine tomorrow. Besides, we'll be there in a jiffy." The old chief smiled as he lightly patted Feihren's back.

  ...

It was almost noon when Feihren woke up. The king's bed was way too comfortable, and he fell asleep for way too long. He was thinking about Lucy's overpowered teleportation gate and how convenient it was so he had been resting, believing that he would get there on time easily. He had almost forgotten that there was an imminent battle incoming!

  "Damn..."

Feihren immediately stood up from the bed and stubbed one of his toes on the corner post of the bunk. He limped around while walking it off and hurriedly freshening up as he fast as he can.

Opening up the door of the king's personal chamber, a dark iron maiden greeted her.

"Good morning Your Majesty, It's good to see that you have finally rested and are full of energy."

The cheerful voice of Lucy that suddenly attended him startled Feihren as he backed off a few steps from surprise.

"Ah! Yes yes, but it's not really morning anymore... We need to go to the First Sector right now."

"Do not get flustered, Your Highness. A report came earlier this morning stating that the enemy halted a few kilometers away from the western valley. They have not yet dared approach the First Sector. It seems that it has something to do with them now clearly seeing that the place in no longer defenseless." Lucy calmed Feihren's rush as she continued.

"But it would be better for your presence to be there, Your Majesty. Would you like me to summon the Seraphim's Gate for you?"

"That would be really helpful. Thank you." Feihren replied as he equipped the Messiah's Robes.

  ...

"General, why did we halt the march? It had been hours already?" An imperial soldier inquired as they were wondering what was happening on the front lines.

"It seems that the western valley of the Wolfenstein Kingdom is now heavily guarded, and is being defended by what appears to be dwarven-made turrets..."

The Dwarven race is well known for being meticulous in their work as they take pride in their creations. This goes to show that anything within the line of being "dwarven-made" would actually signify quality. It seems that the Wolfenstein Kingdom is in cahoots with a few of the dwarven race.

"We are still confirming if said report is true. Until then, we need to halt and not do anything reckless... It would be better to make use of the Garudia Kingdom's soldiers as bait to drag out the enemy's strength as we deal the decisive blow. According to Duke Adrian, it would be best if could get these two kingdoms to weaken themselves, as we could take both easily..." The general muttered in a low voice as he instructed his troops to stand back for now.

A gigantic marble gate adorned with pearl-like runes appeared at the entrance of the west valley.

From within the majestic gate appeared an ominous dark knight with lustrous golden hair carrying a gigantic bulwark in her left hand and a mystical-looking white sword in the other. Lucy's sudden appearance had made the entire area's aura seem dismal in comparison to her radiance.

Even the Wolfenstein Army had stood cautiously at the sudden appearance of the unknown figure. Lucy immediately dismissed the misunderstanding as she said with a gentle voice, "I am an ally. Your King will be here soon."

Another figure suddenly came out of the gate. A tall man with a gallant stature appeared. He was wearing a majestic robe plated with silver armored parts. The peerless aura that the man exudes could only be compared to the highest order of men.

The arrival of Feihren made the soldiers of the Wolfenstein Army exclaim in happiness as they bowed in unison to their king. The gate then disappeared into thin air as the army of the Wolfenstein Kingdom could be seen kowtowing to the unknown figure that has arrived.

"It seems that the enemy king has appeared." Adrian smiled as he inspected the figure of Feihren from a distance, "Let's see what you really are made of. It seems that the young emperor has a lot of hidden respect for you... But as for me, you're nothing but a rookie with this whole 'kingdom business'!' He muttered to himself as he maliciously grinned.

"Heh... So the bastard Feihren has finally appeared." Louie smiled while he sat at the centermost part of the troops as he noticed the commotion on the frontlines... "It is my time to exact proper revenge unto you, my dear king."

The two kingdoms hadn't mobilized any of their troops as they were waiting for each other to make the first move. After a few minutes of this stalemate, the dark knight on the flanks of the Wolfenstein Kingdom burst forth towards the skies as she zipped up with a sonic boom.

Back-lighted by the horizon in the bright sky, the dark figure floated still as she slowly pointed her longsword towards the winged beasts over the enemy troops.

Her wings opened with grace as unknown power permeated from the radiance within each feather. Golden lights coiled over the pair of wings as an all-encompassing aura bathed the battlefield in a mysterious power.

Loud roaring and screeching came from the aerial troops of the Garudia Kingdom as their winged beasts seemingly went out of control as they flapped frantically, trying their best remove their riders their backs.

The 40,000 members of winged beast troops in the skies became riderless in mere minutes as the people from below desperately attempted to catch a few of those knight riders that were falling. Unfortunately, catching someone who was falling from that high covered in metal would be no easy task, and it could do more harm to the people below trying to help than doing nothing at all...

There was no helping the fact that a good number of knight riders immediately perished just from that single move of the unknown flying figure. The image of that dark knight in the skies was akin to a fallen angel that now commands an army of thousands of flying beasts.

Pointing the sword towards the people below, the beasts charged forth as Lucy signaled the beginning of a bloodbath.

Chapter 70: The Enemy of my Enemy

The skies darkened as thousands of Griffins and Wyverns started descending towards the united army of the Garudia and the Mejuzo Kingdom. Panic and confusion were apparent in the eyes of the Garudia soldiers at the sudden 'rebellion' of their prided winged beast troop.

"A trump card right off the bat huh...? A move only a novice would make."

Adrian muttered to himself as he signaled the imperial troops to disperse to the sides where none of the beasts were directed.

Taking the brunt of the attack, the frontlines, which consisted mostly of the Garudia troops, braced themselves for a battle that they would never have expected. Flapping their wings as they glided towards the soldiers, the winged beasts swooped while baring their razor-sharp claws.

The fangs of the wyverns are strong enough to tear-off the thinly forged armor of some of the soldiers within the troops. Although this sudden 'betrayal' flustered the Garudia Kingdom army at first, they were in no position to be whining about it.

They fought back as if these beasts were sworn enemies as they
hacked and slashed their way into this two-way battle. The former knight riders that had survived the fall a few moments back are the ones who were leading the assault towards the army of 40,000 winged beasts.

They were well-versed in dealing with these things, such as actually killing the winged beast that they were riding with. It had been part of their training back then to 'take care' of their partners if they would suddenly act out and turn on them instead.

Every being would have their weak spots, the Griffins and Wyverns were no different. A spear could easily pin down the Wyverns after piercing through the joint of the shoulder blades. Disabling their wings would have the added effect that their front 'arms' would then be rendered useless, as both are connected with each other.

One by one the Wyverns were slain using this tactic. As for the Griffins, their weakness lies in them having a huge blind spot on their sides. The 'bird-head' they have would not allow them to turn their necks speedily in comparison with the wyverns.

It was still a perilous task to take advantage of this, as the instincts of these beasts were tremendously sharp. Every time someone would get close to one's side they would frantically flap their wings as they would attempt to 'whip' down the soldiers that were trying to get close.

The heated battle between the frontlines of the Garudia Kingdom and their own winged troops seemingly did not matter as the calm expression on Adrian's face was still evident. Similarly, Feihren and the meager amount of Wolfenstein troops within the First Towers sector were just calmly watching this unfolding battle.

Feihren squatted on the floor as he placed his hands on his chin.

"This might take a while. You can all just sit and wait for all this to settle down."

He spoke to the hundred or so Wolfenstein soldiers as they followed suit with the instruction of their king. Sitting down cross-legged, the soldiers intently observed this battle as if they were watching a grand show.

Contrary to the calm demeanor of Adrian and Feihren, Louie is starting to lose his sanity as he intently stared at the First Sector with bloodshot eyes. There was not a single commotion occurring on the Wolfenstein's side as the battlefield was already looking chaotic... "That arrogant bastard...!"

Personally commanding the troops closest to his side, Louie instructed them to move to the sides of the occurring battle as to close the distance between them and the actual Wolfenstein troop and initiate a surprise attack.

"I do not think that it would be the best course of action, Your Highness." One of the generals interjected with Louie's command as he added

"Aside from those gigantic dwarven towers with an unknown level of firepower, we would not be able to move 'sneakily' past all this chaos. Besides, the enemies have mages capable of surveillance. They could easily move to and fro by flying magic..."

"You think I didn't know that? Of course I do, but that's not the point. All the 'forces' they have are a bluff, all bluffs I say! Now GO!" Louie angrily replied as the general just shook his head while gnashing his teeth... He then proceeded with the outrageous plan of their king.

The cross-legged figure of Feihren who was still calmly observing the battle exclaimed in surprise, "Oh? Seems like they are already making their move." Within the illusory radar from the [Battlefield Scan], he could clearly see the units dispersing from the sides of the Garudia Kingdom forces.

Feihren stood up as he slightly twisted his neck as to crack the cold joints, he then did a few stretches before he instructed 'Lucy, how long will it take for the frontlines to finish with the beast attack?'

'Around 15-20 more minutes, Your Majesty'. Lucy replied.

"Hmmm... It seems that it would not take that long huh," Raising his hand as he signaled the Wolfenstein troop to immediately stand guard, as the First Towers started glowing with immense power. The entire sector emitted a powerful aura as Feihren stared at the horizon.

'You Highness, it seems that there is a third-party that is approaching... from above'.

Feihren's focus was then disrupted by Lucy as she warned him about something that was approaching. Sure enough, within the [Battlefield Scan] was a gigantic red dot with cluttered smaller red dots inside it. Although it was within the radius of the scan, Feihren could not see a thing on the horizon...

'Above? But you're already flying?' Feihren inquired to Lucy as to clarify the report.

'Way above where I am right now, Your Majesty. It seems that they could not be clearly seen through the brightness of the afternoon's sun...' Lucy replied in a calm tone.

Soon enough, the skies suddenly darkened as a figure eclipsed the brightness of the sun. As if the heavens were suddenly covered with thick cloth, the battlefield was then dimmed as the people raised their heads to the skies.

What appeared was something that confused both sides of this battle...

  "Is that... a fat... dragon?"

Feihren inquired as Lucy flew back closer to the First Towers sector, away from the gargantuan figure that had suddenly appeared. Spanning around a few hundred kilometers in its width alone, with a disproportionate wingspan in comparison with the rest of its body, a plump looking dragon with a giant fortress on its back started descending towards the battlefield...

  Chapter 71: Guns and Dragons

"It seems to be a fortress dragon of the New Dragon Empire, Your Majesty" Lucy, who landed beside Feihren, immediately informed him about what she knew of the fat dragon that had suddenly appeared.

"How do you know of this?" Feihren inquired as he still intently gazed at the descending figure of the dragon fortress.

"It seems that the 'Ancient Demon Lord' within me is knowledgeable enough about this matter." Lucy immediately answered as she continued "Should I approach the fortress as to confirm their identity, Your Majesty?"

"Hmmm... Might as well. Just stay cautious and be careful. Contact me immediately if you don't feel like they are here to do any 'business' that would benefit us." Feihren instructed Lucy. Her wings opened wide as she burst forth towards the dragon that was sluggishly making its way to the side of the battlefield.

  ...

On the other side of the battlefield, aside from the troops of the Garudia kingdom that were still fending off the attack of the winged beasts, the united army had directed their attention towards the sudden appearance of a flying fortress.

"Hmmm... I don't think that they would be an ally of the Wolfenstein Kingdom. I doubt that it would be an ally of ours either." One of the generals near Louie spoke up as they witnessed the gargantuan figure landing on the side of the battlefield.

Louie did not mutter a single word as he focused his gaze on the dragon that was descending on the other side of the valley. It seems that Feihren was not bothering with this sudden random development and was still watching the chaos with the Garudia kingdom and their beasts.

  ...

"What is the Regent of the New Dragon Empire doing here?"

Duke Adrian immediately pinpointed the identity of the person who had suddenly appeared just by looking at this grandiose 'mount' that he was riding. It's a Mythical-grade Behemoth Dragon that could only be trained by people with the bloodline of True Dragons.

It was indeed a baffling turn of events for both parties that were part of this war. It was as if the battle that was currently happening became a sideshow from the sudden appearance of what seems to be the current ruling power of the New Dragon Empire.

  ...

A fat person with two curved horns on the sides of his chubby face appeared from the main doorway of the fortress. It was the Regent of the New Dragon Empire, Emperor Destrian Millieos.

"I was right. Something interesting was indeed unfolding around these parts eh? Good thing I wasn't flying way too high, else I could've missed this show. Oh!" Destrian had not finished his sentence as a dark figure approached the fortress with tremendous speed.

"What is the New Dragon Empire doing in this place?" The speeding figure halted as a cold woman's voice questioned Destrian.

"Oh? It seems that you are knowledgeable about who we are, woman? It seems that I do not have to introduce myself then. Ah! But for the sake of milady, I'll humbly say my name. I am Destrian, the current emperor of the New Dragon Empire."

"Hmph. The New Dragon Empire only serves their Dragon Empress and not some slug that can barely stand on his two feet..." Lucy mockingly replied as she pointed her longsword towards Destrian, and added,

"But it seems you aren't lying? I do not know what is going on with the affairs of your empire, but one thing should be made clear, don't intervene in ours."
