But I think it was much more than that for him. It felt like he really enjoyed giving me pleasure, and that it was important to him that I was satisfied before he was.

I could taste myself as he kissed me and it made me feel wicked and wanton, and for the first time ever, I wanted to taste myself on a man’s cock. But there was no way I was going to stop him making love to me because that’s what this felt like. Real lovemaking. His thrusts were slow and even. The base of his cock was hitting me just right against my pubic bone, and with every thrust, he seemed to hit something inside me that made me moan into his kiss.

“Hold on tight to my neck,” he whispered in my ear, and I did so, not once questioning his hushed command. Dan placed his hands under the cheeks of my bottom and lifted me as he sat back on his heels. Then he pulled me onto him as he pushed himself inside me and the feeling was exquisite. He widened his legs a little but carried on with the same movement, pulling me onto him at the same time as he thrust inside me, hitting my g spot and clit with every thrust. And this time, the orgasm did not build, it completely blindsided me, and I swear I saw stars and angels and even heard heavenly music. I had never orgasmed like that ever before in my whole life, and I had lived a very long time.

He laid me back down on the bed, and it took me a few minutes of him kissing me to realise that he actually hadn’t come himself, but he broke the kiss and whispered, “I’m coming with you, this time, love.”

This time, his movements were hard and forceful as he took what he needed from my body. I loved it. Seeing him lose control now, when before he had controlled my pleasure so thoroughly was thrilling, and made me tingle in all the right places once again. I thought this part was all for him despite his words, but when his breathing became ragged, and he groaned in pleasure, the last thing I expected him to do was to place his thumb over my clit and rub.

He got his wish because this time when I came, he did too, his release seeming to go on forever and with a look that spoke of pure pleasure.

When he finally opened his eyes and looked down at me, I couldn’t tear my gaze away. He was beautiful, this man who had given me the most pleasurable sexual experience that I had ever had in my life. I felt a little guilty because that accolade should have gone to my husband, but although many of my memories of him were a little cloudy now, I can safely say that sex was never as good as that, although it was always good.

The difference that made it special with my husband was love. Something that Daniel and I didn’t share, although I could certainly see myself falling for him if we spent any more time together.

“What’s that look for Freya?” he asked, his body still above mine.

“I was just thinking that was the best sex that I've ever had; then I felt a little guilty as that should be something I shared with my husband and not someone I’m not even in a relationship with.”

Why did I just tell him that? Had sex scrambled my brain?

He grinned before kissing me in a long wet tongue filled burst of pleasure. Then he pulled back, knowing the effect it had on me and said, “I’m glad I gave you the best sex you have ever had, but you don’t have anything to feel guilty about. Your husband has been gone a long time, and if he loved you as much as you told me he did, he wouldn’t want you to be unhappy and alone. And If I had more to offer you Freya, I would like it very much if I was in a relationship with you. But I’m just a nobody really, and you deserve someone who can treat you right, and give you everything a woman like you should have.”

“What’s that supposed to mean? And why would you think you are a nobody?”

“Freya I work nights in your brother’s company. I’m waiting for George to retire so that I can be a full-time supervisor. How sad is that? My only aim in life at the moment is to become a supervisor so that I can earn another hundred and fifty pounds a month in my take home pay after tax.

“I live in a one bedroom rented flat that costs me over a full week’s wage and by the time I pay my bills and car insurance I don’t have a great deal left. My dad is an alcoholic and despite me having a big fall out with him, I still end up trying to sort out his bloody life so that it doesn’t all fall on Keeley. I want someone to share my life Freya but at the moment I’m just not a good prospect,” he said sadly. “And you deserve someone who can treat you right. Buy you expensive jewellery and fancy clothes, that kind of thing. I can’t do that Freya, even though I would like too.”

“I don’t want someone who can buy me expensive jewellery and fancy clothes Daniel. I can buy those if I want. Material things aren’t important to me; they never have been. What I do want would be someone I could trust not to hurt me or abuse the love I give them. I would want them to make me feel safe and protected, to help give me emotional strength when I need it, and if they were willing, I would want to bond with them so that we would share our life and our love forever. They would have to accept the fact I wouldn’t be able to have children, though.”

  “Julia is pregnant, Freya.”

“A male vampire can get a human woman pregnant but I have never known an immortal female manage to get pregnant,” I said again sadly.

“Then you could adopt a child. I mean you see the adverts on telly for people to foster and adopt, and those poor kids look so lost. And then there are those orphanages abroad on the news. You see four and five kids to a single cot with dirty sheets. It chokes me up to see them like that and then to look at Daisy and see how much she’s loved by all her family, and by you and Josh and everyone. Makes you want the same for all little kids.”

I could tell by the way he said this he felt passionate about it. Like Sergei and Nik did, but they had been brought up for a short time in an orphanage. I know that they both donate a lot of money to Romanian orphanages, and helped close down some of the most disreputable ones.

“You have a big heart Daniel,” I said as I touched his cheek. “I would love it if you could find room in it for me.”

He looked shocked at my words, then he shook his head and said, “There’s no need to make room for you in there Freya. You’ve owned my heart for years; you just didn’t know it. But that doesn’t mean I’m the right man for you, even though I want to be.”

“Maybe I can convince you otherwise Dan,” I said, and he smiled.

“Finally, you use my grown up name again. You called me Dan a few times the night you brought Daisy and me here, and you screamed it when I was balls deep inside you earlier.”

“Well we need to get cleaned up Dan, or I swear that you are sleeping in the wet patch tonight,” I said as I slapped his arse.

“What was that you said Freya? You want me to bend you over the bath and fuck you senseless. Well, it’s your lucky night my sexy blond vampire because I’m raring to go again,” he laughed as his cock flexed inside me.

He carried me into the bathroom and did as he said before getting me into the shower and using the spray from the shower head to do some really pleasant things to my clit. After drying off and getting his pyjamas, Daniel climbed back into my bed with me. He spooned in behind me and held me until I fell asleep in his arms, more contented and happy than I had felt since before I lost my husband and children, and I was determined that I would do anything I could to stay this way.

  Chapter Twenty-Six

  Josh

Keeley had been really down all day, which was to be expected, but it was hard for me to handle not being able to make things right for her. When you love someone as much as I loved her, then you will do anything you can to make them happy. At the moment, I couldn’t see Keeley ever being truly happy again.

I tried to think back to how it was for me when Alex turned me into a vampire. I remember being scared and hungry for blood all the time, but Keeley didn’t seem to have that hunger. She had fed from me this morning, then I had to make her feed from a bag of blood this afternoon, but she didn’t seem to want it. Keeley didn’t have the same sort of desperation for the taste of blood like all made vampires had, and that concerned Greg
or and I.

Gregor spoke to someone in Russia about it when he called through earlier. They said that Keeley should have fed every two or three hours since she awoke, and also it was highly unusual that she had woken so early after transitioning anyway. His contact said that after such a traumatic turning, she should have been out for at least thirty-six hours. He said her case sounded much more like the transition of a born immortal, not a made one.

Keeley’s mother was human and had passed away from breast cancer many years ago. Her father, who I was currently funding rehab for, was definitely not a vampire, so this whole situation was very strange to all of us who were involved.

Keeley was a vampire now, of that there was no doubt. I had seen her irises take on a red rim, and I felt her fangs in my neck, so there was no argument there. Something was definitely off about the situation, but we were at a loss as to what that was.

Freya and Dan had sent some videos and a few photos through earlier. They were taken this afternoon on the beach at Hornsea. I was happy to see Daisy enjoying herself. I couldn’t make out Keeley’s reaction to them, not how she really felt anyway. Of course, she said the right things like, how Daisy looked like she had had a good time, and that Daisy loved building sandcastles. But she had a sort of detachment to the videos. Like it could have been just anyone’s child running around with a bat and ball on the beach.

I sent a text through to Freya asking if we could skype with them tomorrow. I thought it would be good for Keeley to talk to Daisy. I hoped that Keeley would feel like she had something to aim for when she saw how much Daisy missed her.

It was getting late now, but Keeley was restless again. She hadn’t fed since the blood she had this afternoon, and I think that I was getting on her last nerve asking her if she needed blood again.

Sergei was due to call shortly. He had worked in the Night Movers offices last night alongside Alex and Julia. Nik had stayed home with Gina obviously, and I was keen to find out if everything was okay at work. Partly because I wanted something to take my mind off my worry about Keeley, even if it was just for a short while, and also to know if Sergei had any questions for me regarding the partnership. He had agreed to take half my share of the business, but I don’t think he thought he would have to step into the role this quickly.

Keeley got up from the bed and began opening the windows in the bedroom. The night air was a little humid now that the breeze we had earlier had dropped. Keeley took a deep breath and then turned to me.

“I want to go out for a walk.”

“I don’t think that’s a good idea, Keeley,” I said looking out into the grounds and closing one of the windows slightly.

“Why not? You have kept me cooped up in here all day Josh, so why can’t I go outside now it’s dark?”

  “It’s not safe Keeley.”

“Why not? There’s no one here at the Manor other than you, me and Gregor, so I can’t suddenly go into blood lust and attack anyone.”

“It’s not you attacking someone that we are worried about love.”

“Look, Josh, I don’t see what the problem is. I’m not desperate for blood, and I feel okay. I just want to stretch my legs and go out in the fresh air. Please, Josh, let’s go for a walk.”

“We need to wait until Sergei gets here.”

“Why? I’m sure he will wait or call us.” She looked out of the window towards where the coach house cottages were.

“Josh is there something else you aren’t telling me?” Keeley asked with anxiety in her voice. “What are you hiding from me?”

I didn’t want to tell her this yet. I wanted her to feel safe for a few days, at least until we had a chance to find Maxim.

“Gina staked Maxim in the heart. It was enough to stop him and render him in a death like state. But to truly finish a vampire you must remove their head and burn the head and body separately. We left him in the coach house cottage so that we could get you and Gina out of the way before we finished him. Alex sent all the builders and decorators home before we left the cottage and then Gregor put a call through to Sergei and Yuri so they could come in and remove Maxim’s head and burn him. It was, at least, an hour after we left before Sergei and Yuri arrived and when they did ..... Maxim’s body had gone.”

“So what are you saying, Josh? He was dead. Gina staked him. How did his body just up and leave?”

“It’s not like they are truly dead until you remove their head and burn them. If someone had removed the stake and given him blood, he would be able to recover. Even when you remove their head you have to make sure it stays separated while it burns.”

“Who would have removed the stake? I can’t see Sergei doing it, and I’m not sure that Yuri liked him that much either.”

“Well someone did because Gina definitely staked him right. We have gone over everything Keeley. Alex got rid of the staff. Gregor was with me the whole time, apart from when he went to get us more blood. I know he didn’t leave the house Keeley, and besides, Gregor was devastated by what happened to you.”

“Why didn’t you tell me about him sooner, Josh?”

“I didn’t want you any more upset than you had been. This has been hard enough for you Keeley. You didn’t need to know that the vampire who tried to kill you was still at large. Besides, Sergei and Yuri are trying to find him.”

“So you decided I didn’t need to know. Tell me, Josh, is there anything else that you decided I didn’t need to know?” she shouted angrily.

“No, fuck no Keeley. It wasn’t like we wanted to deceive you. Gregor and I discussed it, and we thought it best not to stress you any more than what you would be. All of your reactions have been a bit off since you awakened from your transition as it is.”

“So what does that mean exactly Josh? That I’m some kind of vampire freak?”

“No, of course not, Keeley, for fucks sake, will you just stop with the fucking arguing and calm down,” I said as I grabbed her arms.

Quick as a flash she pulled her arms out of my grasp and with her newfound vampire strength she threw me across the room. I hit the wall with a loud thud that took my breath away and brought down the expensive looking paintings that decorated it.

“Oh no, Josh, I’m sorry,” she said as she dashed to my side. “Please tell me you are okay. I only meant to push you away, and I swear I didn’t know that would happen.”

She was genuinely upset and although I didn’t want to see her this way it was good to have her concern and hugs.

“I’m okay Keeley. It just took me by surprise that’s all. I think it surprised you too. You will have to get used to having extra strength now. You will learn to adjust to this like everything else, but at least, you know that you have strength to fight with Maxim if he comes after you again. We don’t know if he will come back for you, or if he will go after Gina for staking him. We did think that Daisy could be a target too but…”

“You think he could go after Daisy? Oh fuck no, Josh, you need to go to her and keep her safe.”

“Freya will keep her safe Keeley; you don’t have to worry about that.”

“I know she will but surely having you around would be better than just Freya. We need to find him, Josh, because I won’t be able to rest until we do.”

There was a knock on the door and both Sergei and Gregor walked in, both looking first at me slumped on the floor and then the damaged wall and paintings.

“I do not think Mr. Adamson has finished with the decorating in this room yet Keeley. I feel we shall have to get him back to sort it out,” Gregor said with a smirk in my direction.

“I’m sorry Gregor, I didn’t mean to cause any damage. I just got angry and pushed Josh and well…”

“Joshua, how dare you piss off my Keeley and make her push you into the wall. You should be ashamed of yourself,” said Sergei as he came over to us and picked Keeley up in his arms.

“Do not worry, Keeley. Sergei is here now, and I will not piss you off like Josh. Would you like to go for a w
alk outside with Gregor and me?”

“I would love to go for a walk, but what about Maxim?”

“Josh can stay and guard the house my darling and Sergei, and I will be your guards for tonight,” said Gregor smiling.

“What? No way are you taking her outside without me,” I voiced angrily, jumping up and marching towards Sergei. But Keeley had already run over to the other side of the room to put on her shoes.

“You need a break my friend, both of you do,” said Sergei. “Give her an hour or so out of your way and you will both feel better. This has been a very bad time for both of you, and if you do not take a small break when tempers are high, it can only get worse. You know I am right Joshua.”

I nodded my head as I looked at Keeley happily chatting to Gregor. I wanted to rewind time a few days so that it was me putting a smile on her face like that. Like when I proposed to her, or when she caught me singing and doing the actions to Daisy’s favourite song.

I wish I could find Maxim and kill him slowly, making him suffer for what he had put Keeley through. And for what he was putting me through now, because I was suffering too. My heart was breaking because I had a feeling in my gut that I was no longer going to get the happy ever after with Keeley and Daisy after all. I would fight for us, for the family life we should have, but I knew the fight would only be one sided, and that hurt more than any physical pain I have ever endured.

  Chapter Twenty-Seven

  Sergei

I returned to the Night Movers compound after being at the Manor with Gregor, Joshua, and Keeley. I did not know what to make of the atmosphere surrounding Keeley and Joshua. She was trying to distance herself from him, physically and emotionally, and maybe that was to be expected. It was less than forty-eight hours since she had nearly been killed by Maxim, and who knew what the short-term effect of an attack like that would be.

Everyone was different and, therefore, we all cope in different ways, but Keeley was worried about being around her daughter. We all know that most made vampires find the blood of children too tempting to overcome. But Keeley was not like most newly made vampires that I had ever encountered.
