I giggled and placed my hand in his. “That sounds wonderful.”
Mason guided me out on the dance floor. He stretched out his arm, spreading us far apart before pulling me in close. He rested his hand on the small of my back, sending tingles through my body. His other hand kept hold of mine as he pulled it up to his heart.
“I have a lot of making up to do.”
“Making up?”
“I came into your life like a tornado, uprooted your entire world, and put you in danger more than once.”
“That wasn’t your fault.”
“I know but I still want to make it up to you.”
“Mason, we’re fine. Really. You have nothing to make up for.”
“Okay...I guess I can see if I can return our tickets but it might not be easy.”
“Tickets? For what?”
“I booked us a two-week art lover’s trip to Europe. Rome, Florence, Pisa, Milan, Basil, and Paris. The travel agent said—”
“Are you serious?” My heart raced with the excitement of the potential trip.
Mason nodded, and a huge grin threatened to split his face in two.
“We can hit all the museums, experience some amazing food, and have some well-deserved time together.”
“That sounds amazing, Mason. Thank you so much.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and squeezed him tight.
“To be honest, this trip is purely selfish.”
“How so?”
“I get to have you all to myself for a whole two weeks and I get to see that beautiful awestruck smile you get when you look at art.”
“You’re amazing.” I reached up on my tiptoes and kissed him softly.
“Plus, I was hoping for a little more of that.” He ran his fingers through my hair, cupping the back of my head and pulled me to him. His kiss was soft at first growing in its passion until he finally had to pull back, placing his lips near my ear. “You want to get out of here?”
I let out a small shiver as his breath teased my ear. He pulled back and gazed down at me with smoldering eyes and I nodded.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
For as long as she can remember, Nikki Rose has enjoyed writing stories. For years, writing was just a hobby for this South Carolina native. It was a way to let out all the stories floating around in her head. After one of those stories took on a mind of its own, outgrowing even the parameters of a single book, Rose knew she had to pursue her dream.
Married to her high school sweetheart and best friend, Rose feels she is truly living out a romance story of her very own. As a stay at home mom of two, she is blessed with the time needed to work on her writing career full-time while her kids are at school or in the wee hours while normal people sleep. She considers herself a music obsessed chocoholic and hopeless romantic who enjoys weaving romance stories with a healthy dose of mystery and suspense.
