  Meanwhile Isabel had started to stir on the bed her eyelids flickering open and when she saw Dimitri and his guard she quickly closed them trying to keep her breathing even so they did not know she was awake once more.

  ‘’of course your highness I have some of our best men in place for the task, I have put two on her mother and father, one on her friend Kaylee but of course there is three on john I figured you wouldn’t care if he got hurt the most’’ he said with a cruel smile.

  Dimitri laughed ‘’of course not but slowly of course, he should pay for thinking he could have Isabel’s love and to touch her. We will do it tonight when the moon is full’’.

  ‘’yes your highness I will prepare now; do you want her in the traditional wedding gown of our people or of the mortals?’’

  ‘’I think it would be best if she wore a white one after all she is my innocent wife for now’’ he said with a laugh

  ‘’as you wish I will go now to prepare the ceremony’’ with a bow Omar left the room

  I hear Dimitri sigh and sense he is looking at me for a moment before I hear the click of the door, I shoot out of the bed wondering what I’m going to do they are going to hurt the people I love I must escape I must rely on myself to do this. I look over at the door knowing that there must be guards out there but if these people know I’m meant to be marring him maybe I can use it to my advantage, I walk over to the door and bang my fists against it as hard as I can.

  ‘’open this door now I demand that you open it now’’ I scream

  To my surprise it odes open with a man staring at me.

  ‘’ what seem to be the problem I have orders not to let you out, so what do you want’’ the guard demands

  As I look at him I put on my brightest smile and lean against the door frame.

  ‘’I would like to see my fiancé of course and also to look round what is supposed to be my new home I am sure Dimitri won’t mind if you take me to him’’ I say trying to sound sexy and happy about the fact I am meant to be marrying him. All I need is a small opening, for him to relax for an instant before I strike.

  The guard shakes his head ‘’I’m sorry my prince has given strict orders that you stay here unless he say’s otherwise’’

  ‘’ oh well you can ask him now, I’m sure it’s no big deal’’ I say with my smile still in place

  ‘’one moment I will contact him to see if you can have a tour and see him’’ the guard turns slightly to his right and I have my opening I swing my fist hard it connects with his face and snaps his head back, I quickly spin round and high kick round the side of his head, he flies into the wall I turn to the other guard quickly as his starts to raise his sword against me I duck away from the blade at the last second and feel the air swoop over my head as the blade goes past me. I raise my knee and connect with his groin as he bends over in pain and falls to his knees I high kick him in the face, he falls to the floor, I slowly rise, I look the two guards over to make sure they are unconscious before I turn to run down the corridor. I try all the doors on my way but all are locked I feel my chest getting tighter as I start to panic I try to remain focused I must not fail my family need me I must save them they know nothing of this life I live. As I run around a corner I stumble to a stop as I see four guards in front of me as soon as they spot me they charge at me I raise my hand to send a blast of fire at them but nothing happens I don’t feel my powers, Dimitri must have done something to them when he lost his temper at me I look up at the guards getting closer to me how can I win, I step back ready to run back to the safety of my room, when I stop and take a deep breath I must not run away my family needs me I swing back round to face them. Just as the first guard is about to reach me I raise my fist and punch him with all my strength into his nose with a howl the guard falls to the floor holding his nose I quickly pick up his sword hoping I can fight with it, I have never used one before, I swing the blade round with all of my strength and catch the guard in his side, I move to my left quickly and without any hesitation I stab the sword right into his heart I stand there for a moment in shock as I see the light fade from his eyes knowing that I have killed him. I pull the sword out of him and he slides lifeless to the floor I turn to the last guard left raising the sword in front of me.

  ‘’let me go or I swear I will kill you to’’ I say preying he will because even though they are evil I did not want to kill anyone else

  ‘’our prince was right you will make us a powerful princess even with you not being able to use your powers you have still shown great strength just imagine what you could do with all your powers working as one’’ he says stepping forward ‘’but I’m afraid I will not let you go after all my prince can heal you so it doesn’t matter if I hurt you to make sure you do not escape after all you have just killed one us and left the other two unconscious.’’

  I look at him in horror knowing he is going to use his powers against and I can’t even use my shield to help me whatever Dimitri had done it has blocked everything, I watch as he raises his hand towards me and a dark swirling ball of powers shots towards me I try to turn enough to make sure it doesn’t hit me too bad and at the same time with a savage scream I throw the sword hoping my aim is right and will hit him in the chest, the blast of his powers hit’s me in my right shoulder knocking me into the wall, my arm feels like it’s dead so much pain I can’t even move it as I look down to see the damage it has done I am horrified to see that the blast has taken most of my skin off my shoulder and I can see the bone, I start to feel so dizzy and black spots start to cloud my vision, I bite my lip to stop my self-giving into the blackness and slowly get to my feet. I turn to the corridor and see the guard on the floor with the sword imbedded into his throat, I walk over to him to retrieve the sword, there is blood pouring out of his neck and mouth, I hold my breath and yank the sword out of him. I look at them one last time before I turn to run down the corridor again hoping to find a way out I run at full speed for a few minutes still having no lucky in finding an escape, everything looks the same it feels like I’m running down the same corridor repeatedly, the darkness is getting thicker making it harder for me to breath or focus but maybe this means I am near the entrance with new hope I keep running, heading for the darkness, making myself run through, when I’m just about to give up because I can barely breath or focus anymore I see a door it’s different to the other one, this one is a big double door with carvings on it with all my strength I push against it. It slowly opens when there is a gap big enough for me to fit through I stop pushing and walk through, I blink a few times to get my vision working better as I start to focus I can see that I am outside, I can’t believe it I made it with a smile I step out into the cold air, so cold I can see my breath as I breath, as I look around me I notice that this is the same place that I dreamt about when Kyle found me.

  I walk down a few of the steps when a shrill ringing noise sounds out I look back in panic wondering what it could be when I hear shouts coming from the people inside saying that I have escaped. I turn and quickly start to run down the steps that lead into the forest and as long as I’m on the right path to the edge of the cliff this will all be worth it.

  I hear a fire ball coming towards me I shriek and duck to the right just before it explodes into the brick wall beside me I keep running ignoring the ache in my chest, the intense pain in my arm and the fact that my legs feel like there on fire. I can sense when they are going to use their powers and turn at the last second the ground around me exploding as their attacks miss me. I run into the thick of the forest sliding round a tree and dropping to the floor to catch my breath, panic starts to set in as I hear all the guards gathering searching for me, the forest is exploding round me as they use their powers to work out where I am.

  A single tear goes down my check as I think about what I’m going to do but there is no other way, I can never be his wife I could never be with someone who has such evil my fate is so clear to me now I must die. I take a deep breath rising to my fee
t I can sense where the cliff edge is, I quickly scan around me to make sure they are not that close to me and set off into a dead run I sense to late as I fly forward towards the forest floor, I realise an energy ball has just hit me in my side a small cry escapes my lips I turn slowly to see Omar, Dmitri’s second in command walking towards me with a half scream leaving my mouth I make my body get back up and run focusing on all my strength to run faster to make my destination, I gasp with relief as I finally break through the dead forest and see the clearing to the cliff edge I walk painfully and swiftly towards it.

  When I get to the edge I stop just to look at the beauty of the night sky, the moon shinning down on me looking almost like a beacon in the night sky with the stars shinning, I take a deep breath and step right to the edge and look down to the violent waves crashing up against the cliff walls.

  ‘’my love step away from the edge there is nowhere else you can run to now, come it is time to come home and become my wife enough of this now’’ Dimitri says to me holding out his hand

  ‘’ no I will never come Dimitri just do me one favour if you ever loved me like you keep saying make sure my family know that I will always love them and be in their hearts’’ I said as a tear rolls down my check

  ‘’what do you mean my love’’ asks Dimitri his voiced filled with fear and concern he starts to walk towards me.

  I turn away from him ‘’ forgive me there was no other way I love you all’’ with a deep breath I throw my self-off the cliff it feels like I’m almost flying above me I hear the screams of Dimitri as he watches me jump to far away to stop me I can see the ground rushing towards me when I suddenly feel an impact so strong it feels like my whole body has just been crushed before complete darkness takes over me.

  Dimitri screams as he sees the love of his life jump of the cliff edge.

  ‘’no my love noooooooooooo’’ he screams in pain and shock rippling through his body

  He runs to the cliff edge just in time to see her hit the rooks at the bottom of the cliff her body looking broken and lifeless even from the distance he was from her.

  ‘’He turns quickly to his guards ‘’ is there any way down there’’ he shouts

  ‘’No your highness there is not ‘’ says the guard backing away afraid of what his prince will do to him.

  ‘’all of you focus you powers to me we need to battle Mother Nature and bring her here back to the cliff edge’’ he demands

  ‘’ but your highness if she is dead we have nothing to focus on’’ the guards says looking at his prince

  With a cry of rage Dimitri’s powers flash through the night sky and strike his guard down he turn to his other guard’s pure fury in his eyes.

  ‘’anyone else have a problem with my orders’’ he demands

  A ripple of no’s echo’s through them all with their heads bowed low. Dimitri starts to focus with his people feeling the powers growing stronger as he reaches for Isabel’s body he can feel a tiny ripple of life with in her but it is fading fast, with a burst of strength his powers and that of his kingdom grab hold of her bringing her back to the cliff edge, he opens his eyes to see her body floating towards him her white gown soaking wet, with her long beautiful hair floating down her back. But what devastates Dimitri was the look of her, she looks so broken that he can’t believe there is any life in her even with the moon glowing round her making her look like an angle, the powers of the kingdom gently lower her to the floor, he quickly scrambles over to her, gentle putting an arm under her head to look at her. His fear sets in now as he sees all the damage clearly even though he is the prince of darkness he doesn’t think that even he can save her now.

  ‘’no this can’t be’’ he says as tears roll down his face, he bury his head in her chest as a cry of agony leaves his lips ‘’please not this way what have I done’’ he says looking at her.

  ‘’your highness’’ Omar says trying to get his princes attention

  ‘’what is it Omar all is lost now not even I can heal all of this damage’’

  ‘’your highness there is a way if she is your wife you will have then have the power you will both be joined and can share each other’s powers all you have to do is heal her as much as you can to make her conscious and then we will use the backup plan to make her agree to it.’’ He says stepping forward and placing a hand on his shoulder

  ‘’she will never agree she jumped just to escapes this’’ he screams at Omar knocking his hand away from him, he finally looks around and sees his guards are still there witnessing his weakness.

  ‘’get out of my sight all of you’’ he shouts at his people his whole body going dark as night as he starts losing control of his powers now, he just can’t bare to lose her. His guards quickly turn and run back to the kingdom away from the prince’s wrath.

  ‘’your highness she will agree I assure you if she thinks she is saving her family, and besides she does not know are laws she will think she is dying, like you said even beyond your power to heal now she will think that she has nothing to lose’’

  ‘’of course you are right’’ he gently lies Isabel’s head to the ground stroking her faces gentle he leans forward too whisper into her ear.

  ‘’forgive me my love I never meant for this to happen’’

  He rises and turns to Omar.

  ‘’ all I will be able to heal is some of her head injuries so she will regain consciousness are you ready with the image of her family and do you have the binding ring otherwise this is all pointless we need to hurry she is fading’’

  ‘’of course your highness it is all ready, hurry before you lose her’’ Omar says with a look on his face that tells Dimitri he knows exactly how he feels about the chosen one.

  Dimitri but’s a hand on her head and chest using all his strength he focuses on her regaining concuss once more, the night sky going deadly black, the forest appearing to dye even more as the trees bend almost to the floor.

  ‘’your highness stop you are killing yourself’’ Omar says fear in his voice as he steps towards his price ‘’please stop Dimitri’’

  But Dimitri does not listen and with a roar he unleashes his powers into Isabel, he can feel his life force fading and just when he was going to die with her which in that moment he wanted to her lids flicked open and focused onto him he quickly withdrew his powers from her body and was last with a bit strength but it would not last long.

  ‘’what have you done?’’

  ‘’why have you brought me back?’’

  ‘’even I know you cannot heal all of this’’ I say it all coming out in barley a whisper.

  ‘’oh my love’’ Dmitri starts with an evil smile ‘’look at what your selfish actions have caused’’

  I slowly turn my head to an image and gasp in horror it’s my mum, dad, Dan, Kaylee and the love of my life john all being attacked by evil, I can’t believe what I am seeing there in so much pain.

  ‘’stop this’’.

  ‘’what are you doing they are mortals stop it’’

  I scream trying to bring my powers forward to help but my body is broken somehow he has made me able to talk and think but nothing more. ‘’please Dmitri stop this’’ I say tears rolling down my face as I watch them being hurt knowing there is nothing I can do.

  ‘’as you wish my love all you have to do is marry me and allow me to place this ring on your finger and I will call off the attack. Once you have my ring on they will never be attacked again.’’ He says with a smile.’’ All has been done for you all you have to do is say, it is done and their pain will stop.’’

  I manage to turn my head slightly away from him as I think I don’t understand why he is saying this I am beyond his healing I can tell that it took most of his strength just to have me talk to him, so I can agree I have nothing to lose after all I will die but at least they will live and be safe. I slowly turn back to him.

  ‘’it is done’’

  The night sky lights up flashes of ligh
tning glowing through the night, Dimitri places a ring onto my finger, but I don’t care all is fading once more and I know I will die finally I will have peace.

  Dimitri looks down at the women who he loves so much warmth going through his body; she is finally mine he thinks with a smile; he leans down gently pressing his hand to her face which is going as cold as the night.

  He turns to Omar ‘’ how is this done she is fading faster than before’’

  ‘’your highness you have it all now you must be able to feel her power and strength’’ he says with a frown ‘’ this should have worked it is the oldest magic of our world very powerful I don’t understand why is hasn’t.’’ he says fear creeping into his voice

  ‘’I can feel her’’ he sits back with a deep breath a look of wonder on his face’’ I feel myself almost changing Omar there is so much light and love in her it feels like it’s filling my heart, she has so much power more than we realised.’’ He stood slowly looking down at Isabel.

  ‘’I can’t believe it once she understands who she is and accepts it she will be more powerful than us even the prince of pure good.’’ He starts to laugh

  ‘’ I knew she would be strong but never this and now she is all mine my beautiful wife’’. He says with a sigh

  ‘’what is it your highness’’ through it all Omar had just looked confused

  ‘’it is too soon for her I will give her a gift, no more attacks on her she will be watched closely but that is it, I’m going to take away her memories of all of this, everything she will not know of anything of our worlds not even me, especially Kyle, she will be free until she turns twenty one her powers will also be blocked unless she finds the truth out for herself then of Couse everything will come back, I will give her time after all I have all the time in the world now she is my wife for eternity.
