by Shadows Finger

A hand filled with countless divine symbols and runic patterns as five golden rings wrapped around its fingers, it loomed over the heavens blocking off the majority of the entire sky filling those below it with a sense of tininess and weakness as if all below this hand was no more than mere ants it could easily trample. At the top of this hand, was a stunned Feng Xingyu who had momentarily awakened to the scene before her, with a complete loss of words she gazed at the scene below her with an expression that couldn’t be described with words.

Suddenly, the massive fingers of the hand began to move as both the index finger and thumb became placed together, as this happened, the voice belonging to Fradus spoke out once more, “Indeed, I am Colossi… I have stood guard over this realm for many eons looking out for the slightest instances of those beings seeping into this realm, but it seems that my efforts were still in vain, for their methods where still enough to bypass our sights… I am curious, why is that you have your sights set upon this human?”

The Asurafiend hearing this soon recovered his state of mind, recalling the being who summoned him he chose to remain silent as he gazed at the arm before him locking onto the figure of Feng Xingyu while thinking, “Chet! To think that I would fail to kill this woman even after being delivered such a gift…”

He narrowed his eyes as dense killing intent spread out from his body as he sneered at the arm, “Ha! Like I’d tell you, that woman will be as good as dead even if you can destroy me! Now then, pay for my hand with your entire arm!!!”

Buzz! The instant the Asurafiend said this he unleashed all of his boiling energies, causing the entire world to become saturated by a crimson hue, a gigantic demonic face forming in the sky with vicious teeth and eyes much like that of the Asura’s own rushing towards the hand at immense speeds.

Carefully looking, one would see that at the center of this demonic face was the Asurafiend whose body was erupting continuous streams of nefarious energies feeding the head around him an immense amount of power, within moments the head arrived beforehand opening its large mouth with sinister-looking teeth as it prepared to swallow the arm along with Feng Xingyu whole, the Asurafiend seeing this grinned as he yelled furiously, “Die!! Demonic Fiend Arts: Asura Manifestation!”

The jaws of the sinister asura face bit down viciously causing the surrounding auras to send Feng Xingyu’s hair and robes into disorder, as she saw this, she became stunned and actually wanted to cover her eyes and scream, but as if an unknown power swept over her, she continued to face the descending disaster without a single flinch. Suddenly, the voice belonging to the hand finally spoke once more in a tone that carried a hint of disappointment. “What a pity… it seems that I won’t be able to learn details at all… then again, I’ve always been bad at this type of thing. Since that the case, your presence is no longer needed…”

As soon as the voice said this, the clenched index finger and thumb began to glow in bright silver light for a short moment before Fradus flicked his finger towards the viciously looking Asura Manifestation.

“Not good!” The Asurafiend thought, seeing the finger nearing its field of vision at an unthinkable speed became shocked as it tried to avoid the strike, but sadly, it was too late…

Whooosh! Bang! The surrounding winds suddenly becoming chaotic due to the flicking force caused by her index finger which instantly collided with the manifestation, within moments the manifestation exploded into countless bits of energy fragments which fluttered across the now broad skies free of clouds for as far as the eyes could see, the remnant forces from the finger flick sending a shockwave towards the distant horizon that devastated any and all things in sight, be it mountains or tall ancient trees and or constructs.

Swooosh! A cool wind now blew across the silent battlefield as all of the practitioners and leaders belonging to different major influences looked at the scene before them in shock as they had never seen such scenario in their lifetime, and most probably would never again chance upon such an encounter…

“Cough!” Feng Junling wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth as he looked up at the scene in shock, as Feng Yunlong stared blankly.

The index finger of Fradus now pointing at the minute form of the Asurafiend who had lost the cover of his manifestation, the current state of his body now being that of a disaster as even the mighty looking armor that encased his being was broken to pieces falling down to earth below them before fading away into the wind like dust.

“Cough! Haa… Ha…. It appears… that this battle… is… m…y… l…o…s…t…” After coughing out a great deal of blood from his mouth, the Asurafiend whose body was crumbling to pieces of bloody flesh managed to open his mouth and speak a few words.

Soon, his body exploded scattering his bloody across the surroundings as his temporary consciousness faded away for all entirety…

  Chapter 175

The End of An Ancient War, Opening the Dragon Palace!

The scene within the Center of All Zones was one of silence as all the practitioners and major influential leaders gazed upon the colossal hand before them in pure awe, a few of them who had managed to recover their scene of faculties lifted their hands and cheered.

“It… it did it!! That monster is dead and we’re alive!!” one practitioner said as with a tearful expression on his face.

“Hahaha!” A few others started to laugh like maniacs, but those around did not curse or scorn them for they all knew what would happen if there wasn’t some sort of divine-like intervention against the dreadful Asurafiend.

Xun Yanshan looked at Nei Sinan and Ye Shuye for a while before lifted his hand and laughing. “Hahaha! Well guys, it looks like’s fate is on our side after all… we may actually live to see the end of this cursed mystic realm trials!”

“You’re right; this was one hell of a journey…” Nei Sinan said while wiping the sweat from his barely visible forehead wrapped beyond many layers of cloth, Ye Shuye didn’t reply as his eyes were currently focused onto the figure of the red-haired beauty that sat on top of the colossal hand, he furrowed his brows while pondering, “This hand is of an extremely mysterious origin… why would it go out if its way to save us? Could it be that this hand had only wanted to protect that woman from this Feng Clan? If that’s the case what’s so special about her to warrant his protection... or better yet, just what’s so good about this clan?”

As he thought to himself, he couldn’t help but glance towards the Feng Clan’s members noticing that although they were injured it wasn’t as severe as those of their influences, the elders of the clan had each managed to retain a great deal of fighting force while even the ordinary crimson masked soldiers where strong enough to resist the damages sustaining injuries similar to their very own, his eyes narrowed further as his thoughts wandered off into in a realm no one would ever know.

Like Ye Shuye, there were a few individuals who also noticed the strangeness of the Feng Clan’s miss, but a majority of chose to remain silent and feign indifference as only one influence eyed them like a hawk scoping its prey.

“Hmph! So what if you have advanced to the True Soul realm, my Dark Sky Pavilion is lorded over with our own supreme elders and patriarch, Your son will rue the day he heavily injured my clan’s Bing’er!” Sheng Yuan muttered as his eyes glared sharply at the Feng Clan members.

As if they felt his intent, both Feng Yunlong and Feng Junling turned their previously distracted gaze towards him, as this happened, a strange feeling soon came over Sheng Yuan filling him with an unusual pressure as he felt like a lamb before a tiger. Quickly, he started to sweat profusely as even his qi within his body started to become unstable, as Feng Yunlong and Feng Junling saw this they merely scoffed before moving their gaze.

“Cough! Haa.. haa…” As they removed their gaze from Sheng Yuan, he couldn’t help but cough as he tried to catch his breath due to previously stifling pressures, he took his eyes from them looking on his trembling hands with a hint of fear in his eyes while thinking, “
These bastards! To pressure me with their gaze… I will certainly let you bastards pay!!” He thought to himself, clenching his fists tightly while firming his resolve.

No longer paying attention to Sheng Bing or any other outsiders, both Feng Junling and Feng Yunlong looked at each other for a moment before speaking.

“It seems that Yu Child will be up for some challenges after he leaves this mystic realm…” Feng Yunlong said while looking at his brother’s face to see his expression, Feng Yunlong hearing this shook his head and replied with a firm look in his eyes, “The phoenix will never fly if it doesn’t learn from falling…”

“Hahaha! Well said Yunlong…” Feng Junling said pleased at his brothers determination, he then looked towards the colossal hand with a deep look on his face before speaking once more, “Other than Yu’er, I think Xingyu has stumbled upon quite a bit of fortune, that hand thought vague is giving off an aura that is unique to both it and her, almost as if they were cut from the same breed…”

Feng Yunlong hearing this furrowed his brows and replied, “Hmm, then wouldn’t this mean that she is related to it by blood? If this is so, then what will happen now that they’ve met?”

“I don’t know, but what I do know is that whatever it does will in no way harm our sister… It called itself a Colossi… a race I have never seen or heard of in the ancient clan’s records, maybe their kind is already on the brink of extinction, discovering Xingyu would probably mean a lot more to it than we could ever imagine.” Feng Junling replied with a mysterious look in his eyes, as he heard this, Feng Yunlong also remained silent as he too wondered what would happen.

Upon vanquishing the Asurafiend, the colossal hand gently placed Feng Xingyu on the ground, the surrounding practitioners and leaders looking at this scene with an even deep look in their eyes as their thoughts remained a mystery.

After finishing this task, the hand used its finger to rub the now tearful Feng Xingyu’s head before lifting itself into the air and vanishing across the distant horizon with a flicker of light. Now, the scene within the Center of All Zone’s had promptly returned to normal as the sky had once more became azure with no trace of clouds in sight, as only the massive unsealed Dragon Palace remained.

“Xingyu!” Both Feng Yunlong and Feng Junling promptly rushed over soon arriving before her, as she saw her two brothers Feng Xingyu couldn’t help but grow teary-eyed as she hugged them before speaking, “Brothers! I… I…”

“That’s alright Xingyu, no need to cry, if you need to take some time to clear your head regarding the previous matters don’t force yourself to speak. Take some time to sort your thoughts through…” Feng Junling said in a soft tone, Feng Xingyu hearing this soon after began to calm down a hint of redness in her eyes as she began to recall the words of Fradus. “You are of Colossi Bloodline and your fate will ultimately reside at a place far away from your kind, while you have managed to summon a thin strand of your strength, it is only a portion. If you are to continue this path, the more you use your power the greater your chances for losing control will increase, ultimately it will arrive at the point where you will no longer be in control and that power will first consume not only yourself but those around you. If you wish to never see this happen, then call for my name and I shall return to take you to the place where you must go to learn our ways…”

As Feng Xingyu was lost in her recollection, the voice of Feng Yunlong could be heard, “Xingyu, are you alright?”

Quickly, she was pulled from her thoughts she glanced at her two brothers before replying with a smile on her face, “I… I’m fine, let us go aid the clansmen…” After saying this, she flew off towards the injured clan members and started to help out with their recovery, both Feng Yunlong and Feng Junling shook their heads as they saw this as they knew deep down that she was now acting a bit strange, but they didn’t say anything only moving towards the clansmen and aid with their recovery…

Far away from the lively and victorious battlefield at the Center of All Zones, was a very strange region of many thousands upon thousands of kilometers that was blanketed by terrifying golden flames, these flames were unique as they gave off an unusual divine prestige as if they were the epitome of all fires sacred by nature.

It was the region at the very edge of the Ancient Dragon Battlefield, an area previously obscured by many layers of darkness as it cast shadows from the distant light, now reduced to nothing but a sea of sacred golden flames the landforms melted, and sea evaporated turning into a mist that saturated the air.

Currently, the peerless beautiful black hair beauty garbed in golden robes that fluttered gently in the wind with a royal crown on her forehead. She calmly gazed upon the sea of flames which blotted out all sights of darkness with her squinted as if she was searching for something, after a long while of scanning her expression grew disturbed as she furrowed her brows and muttered, “I really hate this race… every time they make a sudden appearance they can just as easily disappear… a truly hateful set of shadows!”

As she cursed in anger, the flames within the surroundings jumped and raged as if they can express her fury. Suddenly, within an obscure corner that had somehow managed to keep itself outside of the reach of these golden flames as there was a sinister voice that mocked her.

“Huhuhu…. You try to seek the shadow, but you will only catch its shade… Empyrean Saintess Wuya, I look forward to meeting you again…” As the shadowy figure said this, the patch of darkness soon after vanished as the voice faded away from reality itself.

“Chet! No wonder we couldn’t detect you… it turns out that it was actually ‘that bastard,’ since he was here then I guess that lord of his must have been nearby… what could he have arrived in such a distant realm to achieve? Could he have been here for the Heiress?” As she thought to herself, she branched off her ‘divine awareness’ towards the entire Ancient Dragon Battlefield quickly finding resting Jing Mingyun who was now lying on Feng Yu’s arm, noticing that there was no change within her body she felt relieved as she pondered, “Since it wasn’t her, then who was it… who was it that managed to force the appearance of such a character?”

She pondered for a long time to avail before she sighed and decided to temporarily give up on this matter, “Now isn’t the time to ponder such things… it is time for me to truly end this prolonged war...” After saying this, she placed her palms together causing the golden flames to disperse from the surroundings leaving behind an empty strength of land, as her body flickered into the distance instantly appearing directly above the Dragon Palace of the Center of All Zones.

The practitioners and leaders who were now focused on recovering didn’t seem to notice her at first until one random practitioner gazed into the sky noticing her presence, seeing this peerless beauty appear out of nowhere the practitioner jumped to his feet in shock while pointing his finger and exclaiming, “A…a Goddess has descended!!!”

“Hahahaaha! Yeah right, like we’ll believe that?!” One of the practitioners said while mocking the individual, the surrounding practitioners also laughing causing the somewhat awkward mood to lighten up.

Soon, though, the laughter began to fade as more and more of practitioners gazed up into the sky in shock as they stared dazedly at the form of the beautiful goddess that floated from above, Feng Junling couldn’t help but find himself in a momentary daze as he saw the beauty up above, as Feng Yunlong gaze at her form indifferently as if he had already seen the most beautiful thing.

Feng Xingyu was also stunned when she saw the woman’s appearance; she gazed at her with a slight amount of nervousness as she clenched his slender looking fists. The Saint Queen seeing that her sudden appearance had attracted their attention smiled as she spoke in a voice that resounded across the entire Ancient Dragon battlefield, “You have done well! You are the first and the last group which will be partaking in this world’s battlefield wars, with a defeat of the ancient fiend armies and commanders along with the succe
ssful completion of the Chosen’s Mission! I now proudly declare, the End to this Ancient War!! People of True Yuan, Indigenous of the Myria Worlds… I now open the Dragon Palace’s Treasury and its Ascension Gate!” Her voice rumbling across the heavens as if the world itself was proclaiming her words as law.

Rumble! Suddenly, the silent Dragon Palace which had been sealed off by an invisible barrier began to change, the earth shaking as if it was struck by a massive earthquake as the heaven-reaching pillars within the surroundings began to move towards the palace’s location.

Soon, the old and worn-down pillars had arranged themselves around the palace in a formation much like that of a pentagram, their surfaces suddenly glowing with strange runes as a beam of golden light shot from them towards the distant heavens connecting the earth with the sky.

The Dragon Palace at the center of pillars was now bathed by these mysterious lights causing its ruined look to undergo a change recovering to its earlier grandeur. Its massive gate which was previously closed after the genius entered its trail domain now appearing once again at the palace’s entrance way.

As this happened, the Saint Queen glanced at the individuals before snapping her fingers and speaking, “You may all enter!”

Bang! Immediately after her voice the door for the palace opened causing a bright ray of light to illuminate the surroundings, as an inviting atmosphere filled the area. The moment this happened she glanced at the excited practitioners and pointed towards the front of the Dragon Palace where a large formation diagram was glowing as she spoke, “But know this, the maximum amount of time you will be allowed to stay inside will be no more than a single day, after that time has passed you will be ejected from the palace to here, you can then choose to remain in this environment for a little while longer or use the returning portal to return you to any location of the outside world” Upon hearing this the practitioners and leaders thought to themselves for a while before they nodded in understanding.
